I hope your summer has been filled with family, friends, and fun activities. Our elementary building has been undergoing a transformation and I am excited for students, staff, and families to see and experience these incredible building and technology enhancements. As the first day of school on Tuesday, September 8 quickly approaches, I am writing to share our Back-to-School communication methods and the related timeline. This year the three elementary buildings will provide back to school information to families through electronic email communication as the primary means to share the following: Wednesday, August 26 - Email Communication: Pertinent Building Information and Forms PTO Membership Information, Dates, and Volunteer Committees East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation Information Thursday, August 27 - Email Communication: Student Placement and Teacher Welcome Letters If you have received this letter electronically then EGRPS has a valid email address on file. However, it is also important to review and update all family information located in your child s Skyward account (i.e. birthdate, home address, phone number, emergency contacts, etc.). Other Noteworthy Calendar Dates: Friday, August 28 - Class lists will be posted on front doors after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2 Classroom Meet and Greets Lakeside PTO New Family Ice Cream Social Meet and Greets: K-3 rd Grades will be from 4:00 5:00 p.m. 4 th Grade will be from 4:00 4:30 p.m. 5 th Grade will be at Manhattan Park beginning at 6:00 p.m. Lakeside PTO New Family Ice Cream Social will be located at the top of the upper elementary playground near the 3rd grade doors from 5:00-6:00pm. The following is a wish Jist of schoolsupplies that would be helpful for every fifth grader to have for their use throughout the school year. 2" binder/trapper keeper 5 folders that are made for binders and have 3 holes punched in them. We highly recommend the plastic folders that are much more durable and will last all year. "' 2 composition books with taped bindings and 100 sheets each. Zipper bag for writing utensils that will fit into the binder/trapper keeper unless i t already has one built into it. 3 folders with 3-prongs and 2-pockets.
