Astrct rious coron dischrges plsm genertors equipment hve een composed with significnt ility to produce sturtion current effect. The effect ws generted y the potentil difference of the cpcitive system where two electrodes re set with opposite chrges to ech other. The sturtion current occurring in this cpcitive electrode system cn e generted y smll voltge source (out 12 volts). A sufficiently lrge electric field nd sturtion current, cn e otined from configurtion of shrp electrodes. An exmple of the electrode shpe is configurtion of very thin nd shrp disc surrounded y ring electrode in twodimensionl spce. The vlue of the electric field nd the sturtion current will e clculted in mentioned electrode configurtion. Keywords plsm genertor, disc configurtion, ring configurtion, electric field, sturtion current. I. INTRODUCTION The coron dischrges plsm genertor equipment hs een widely used to ssist humnity in mny res of life, for they cn generte sturtion currents [1] y merely dc currents [2]. The utiliztion include, improving the qulity of food storge [], liquid wste tretment [4], microil inctivtion in rice [5], ccelertor of nursery mngroves [6], et ceter. The clcultion of electricl field nd sturtion currents re importnt prt within the chrcteristic of vrious electrode plsm models, since ech chrcteristic will produce different electricl current. Usully, the clculted chrcteristic comprises of digrm of current relted to voltge, where the results of the experiment often indicte tht the induced current will e proportionl to the qudrtic function of the potentil difference [7]. Coelho nd Deeu in 1971, were crried out the clcultion of electric field nd induced current of electrode cpcitive chrcteristics using hyperolic-shped electrode model [8]. THEORY This pper will convey the clcultion of the electric field nd the sturtion current generted y the plsm genertor, with configurtion of the thin disc nd ring which is depicted in the following tool model, O Fig. 1. Plsm genertor device with the configurtion of thin disc nd thin ring in two-dimensionl spce The plsm generting device in Figure 1. is depicted within two-dimensionl spce nd comprise of n outer ring with rdius of, round very thin disc with rdius of with the thickness of l0. The cpcitnce chrcteristic of plsm electrode genertor cn occur for the thin disk electrode is set with positive chrge while the thin ring with negtive chrge. The induced current will emerge due to the difference of potentils etween the disc nd the ring. The sturtion current of the cpcitor system is mesurle plsm current flow. In vrious experiments [7], the electric current is usully function of the qudrtic potentils difference of potentil t the end of positive chrged electrode. III. METHODOLOGY The depiction of thin ring nd thin disc electrode models with thickness of t0, cn e seen in Figure 2. The cpcitor re in Figure. 2., is the re of the plne etween the two electrodes, which cn e written s -q P d + R q A 2 l,. (1) l0 Figure2. Figure2. Fig. 2. Interntionl Journl of Innovtive Reserch in Advnced Engineering (IJIRAE) ISSN: 249-216 Issue 09, olume 4 (Septemer 2017) www.ijire.com where is the distnce etween the two electrodes which is the rdius of the Guss surfce. The mgnitude of the electric field in distnce of (e.g. to the point P) tht leds from the thin disc to the thin ring, cn e otined s [9], q q E P, l 0, A 2 l. (2) 0 0 where the vlue +q is the mount of electricl chrge locted t the end of the disc electrode, while t the end of the ring electrode hs -q chrge. To otin the generl formultion of the induced current ginst the potentil difference of which is t the end of the disk electrode, the electric chrge of q cn e converted to voltge mgnitude. In this pper, the clcultion of the electric field produced y thin disc using the clcultion models of Coelho nd Deeu [8], using the hyperolic coordintes s illustrted in Fig., which the x nd y coordintes re formulted s x sin cosh, y cos sinh,. () Let us ssume tht the hyperolic coordintes of eqution () cn e used s n pproch to clculte electric field of thin discs in polr coordintes s well. According to the clcultions of Coelho nd Deeu [8], the mgnitude of the electric field in distnce of (e.g. to the point P) cn e written s E P ln 2 / 1/ 2 2. (4) where is the distnce from the center of the disc to the ring electrode (ring rdius) nd is the rdius of the thin disc s illustrted in Figure 2. The nottion is the potentil difference t the end of the electrode or round the tip of the thin disk. Since equtions (2) nd (4) re identicl, the mgnitude of the electric chrge round the thin disc cn e otined s, Y q ln 2 / 1/2 2 0 l 2,. (5) = 0 0 = 0 X Figure. Interntionl Journl of Innovtive Reserch in Advnced Engineering (IJIRAE) ISSN: 249-216 Issue 09, olume 4 (Septemer 2017) www.ijire.com I. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION The expected result of this study ws the discovery of the chrcteristics induced current i to the difference of voltge. The sis of the clcultion of the chrcteristic i vs for ech configurtion of the two electrodes cpcitor in current-induced system, is y using the formultion of the Q 1- induced chrge [8], s Q 1 q,. (6) where nd q re the potentil difference nd the chrge contined t the end of the electrode (in this pper is t the tip of the thin disc), thus generting induced currents s [8], dq1 q 2 i EP,. (7) dt where E P is the mgnitude of the electric field t the end of the electrode (t the edge of the thin disc). Using equtions (4) nd (5), the vlue of induced current in eqution (7) cn e written s 2 1 2 0 l i, 1, (8) 1/ 2 ln 2 / 2 where i is the induced current nd is the rdius of the Guss surfce etween the two electrodes. In eqution (8), we cn see tht the induced currents occurring from the cpcitive electrode system etween the electrodes in the configurtion of thin discs nd thin rings, re proportionl to the squre of the potentil difference t the tip of the thin disc disk, thus yielding the chrcteristic i vs s hyperol function. The vlue of the induced current will e greter when the disc's rdius is lso greter nd the ring rdius remins ecuse there is 2 > fctor. The vlue of the induced current will lso increse in the re djcent to the disc nd progressively smller in res fr from disc. The significnt vlue of electric induced current in eqution (8) cn e relted to thickness fctor of l0 in the very thin disc s well s the ring. Although the est wy to prove the digrm i vs is, through experiments (which ws not covered in this pper) s comprison of the formultion (8).. CONCLUSIONS From the clcultion of the electric field nd the induced current mgnitude generted y the plsm genertor with the configurtion of the thin disc nd the thin ring in the two-dimensionl spce, it cn e concluded tht the resulting induced current will e proportionl to the potentil squre t the tip of the thin disc disk. The resulting induced current vlue will e quite significnt when the thickness of the disc nd ring is very thin. The clcultion of the induced current will e etter thn the ctul experimentl results.
