1.0 OVERVIEW 1.1 Introduction The Equipment Under Test (EUT), as described within this document, was submitted for EMC testing as agreed with the customer. 1.2 Objective The purpose of the test was to measure and report the EUT against limits and methods of the emissions and immunity standards, as requested for and listed in section 1.8 Test Summary. 1.3 Product Modifications None. 1.4 Conclusion The EUT met the emission limits and immunity requirements of the tests defined in section 1.8 Test Summary. This report relates to the sample tested and may not represent the entire population. It is valid only for the product identified, either in part or in full, to the relevant electromagnetic requirements necessary for compliance with the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC and other national requirements. 1.5 Test Deviations None. 1.6 EMC Test Lab Reference Hursley EMC Services file: 07R297. 1.7 Emissions Class A Statement (advisory) The product and/or the product s documentation should carry the following warning: WARNING This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment this product may cause radio interference in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures. Page 3 of 26

1.8 Test Summary The EUT complies with the test standard EN 61326:1997, including amendments A1:1998, A2:2001 & A3:2003, for electrical equipment for measurement control and laboratory use and Table 1 (minimum) immunity tests requirements, to the performance criteria relating to equipment that is used in a continuous unmonitored operation. The EUT met the emission test requirements of the following standards: Description General Standard Referenced Standard Radiated disturbance Conducted disturbance, ac port EN 61326:1997 inc A1:1998, A2:2001 & A3:2003 CISPR 22:1993, Class A Mains harmonics - EN 61000-3-2:2000 Mains voltage flicker - EN 61000-3-3:1995 The EUT met the immunity test requirements of the following standards: Description General Standard Referenced Standard Electrostatic discharge EN 61000-4-2:1995 Radiated RF interference EN 61000-4-3:1996 Fast transient bursts EN 61326:1997 inc EN 61000-4-4:1995 A1:1998, A2:2001 Surge & A3:2003 EN 61000-4-5:1995 Conducted RF field EN 61000-4-6:1996 Voltage dips and interruptions EN 61000-4-11:1994 The uncertainty measurement for each test has been included to support a level of confidence of approximately 95%. 2.0 EQUIPMENT & TEST DETAILS 2.1 General Product (EUT): Product build level: Product manufacturer: Customer: FLOCKMAN Serial number: 001 (designated by Hursley EMC Services) Production sample David Filmer Limited Mr D Filmer David Filmer Limited Wascelyn Brent Knoll Somerset TA9 4DT +44 (0) 1278 760760 Test commissioned by: Mr D Filmer Date EUT received: 3 rd August 2007 Test date(s): 3 rd 6 th August 2007 EMC measurement site(s): Hursley EMC Services Limited Unit 16, Brickfield Lane, Chandlers Ford, Hampshire Hursley Park, Winchester, Hampshire 2.2 EUT Description FLOCKMAN is an Automated control system for poultry production. Extract from customer s literature: FLOCKMAN has been designed for the individual broiler grower to give similar benefits to the old more sophisticated product FLOCKMAN that is aimed primarily at the larger integrated broiler company. Although it controls lighting programs (with dawn/dusk dimming), whole cereal inclusion and automatic meal-time feeding for each day, it needs no computers nor automatic feed or bird weighers. Once started at the beginning if the crop, it needs no further input from the grower until after the house is empty, when it is stopped. Page 5 of 26

2.3 EUT Test Exerciser The volt free contact for Auger Cereal turns on once every 60 seconds for 10 seconds, a mains powered light bulb was connected to this input to indicate the contact was opening and closing. The display (LCD) cycles indicating Target Cereal Feed (15.0%) followed by actual feed (15.0 to 15.3%) then Light off Pans On, this repeated every 10 seconds. 2.4 EUT Test Configuration Mains EUT Mains HEMCS Breakout box Proximity Sensor Lamp 2.5 EUT Support Balluf Proximity Sensor, s/n EMC002 HEMCS light and breakout box, s/n EMC003 Page 6 of 26

3.0 EMISSION RESULTS 3.1 Radiated Disturbance 3.1.1 Data A profile scan was taken at a distance of three metres on eight azimuths of the EUT in both the vertical and horizontal polarities of the antenna in a semi-anechoic chamber. Using the data obtained from the chamber profile-scan as an engineering guide, the EUT was then transferred onto the turntable in the Open Area Test Site. The antenna was positioned at a distance of ten metres from the periphery of the EUT. Radiated emissions were then systematically maximised by revolving the EUT and adjusting the antenna in polarity and height. The highest emissions are presented here. The measurements reported are the highest emissions relative to the CISPR 22 Class A limits and take into account the antenna and cable loss factors. Measurements made according to the CISPR 22 test standard and Hursley EMC Services test procedure RAD-01. TEST ENGINEER: Stephen Connolly Page 8 of 26

3.2 Conducted Disturbance 3.2.1 Data A filtered 230V/50Hz supply was fed to the EUT via a 50Ω/50µH Artificial Mains Network (AMN). The AMN was bonded to a conductive ground plane. Line and neutral phases and each power supply were measured separately. A spectrum analyser was set to scan between 0.15MHz and 30MHz to record the peak emission profiles. The worst-case peaks were then measured using an average and/or quasi-peak receiver and compared to the CISPR 22 Class A limits. The worst-case results from both power supplies are shown here. 3.4 Mains Voltage Flicker Uncertainty of measurement: +/-3.8% for a 95% confidence level. Measurements made according to the EN 61000-3-3 standard and Hursley EMC Services procedure FLK-01. For voltage changes caused by manual switching, the equipment is deemed to comply without further testing if the maximum RMS input current including inrush current is evaluated over each 10mS half-period between zero-crossings does not exceed 20 amps, and the supply current after inrush is within a variation band of 1.5 amps. Inrush current measurements were made in real time and the product state was altered and the load current unmonitored and the inrush was less than 20 amps and the variation was less than 1.4 amps therefore it complies without testing. TEST ENGINEER: Andy Jones Page 13 of 26

4.0 IMMUNITY RESULTS 4.1 Performance Criteria General performance criteria for immunity testing are defined below:- Criterion A Criterion B Criterion C Criterion D During testing normal performance within the specification limits. During testing, temporary degradation, or loss of function or performance which is self-recovering. During testing, temporary degradation, or loss of function or performance that requires operator intervention or system reset occurs. Degradation or loss of function, which is not recoverable due to damage to equipment, components, software, or to loss of data. The test standard (EN 61326:1997 / A1/A2/A3) requires the manufacturer to produce a functional description and a definition of performance criteria applicable to these EMC tests. The customer has defined Unacceptable performance criteria as a deviation of more than +/-1% for the analogue resistor values and the reference value. Other failure conditions are determined by interpretation using the experience of the laboratory EMC engineers. Monitoring of EUT performance whilst under test Radiated immunity: Remote monitoring of the product in the anechoic chamber using a video camera focused on the EUT display and a fibre-optic linked video monitor situated in the control room. All other tests: Visual monitoring of the EUT display and light one zero volt contact to verify correct function and status. Page 14 of 26
