Thick Side Hinge with Screw There are 2 of these brackets; both of them are attached to the side of the spa cover. Thin Side Hinge with Screw This bracket is attached to the spa side panel and used with the Slide Lock Bar. ¼ Plastic Washer This washer is placed onto the center screw on the Side Hinge Bracket in front of the Slide Lock Bar. ¼ x 5 /8 (SS) Washer The 8 washers are used with the 8 Lag Bolts. #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screw The 12 screws are used to fasten the three Side Hinges. ¼ x 2 ½ Lag Bolt The 8 bolts are used with washers to fasten the left and right Base Tubes. #10 x ½ Pan Head Phillips Screw The 2 screws are used to hold the Corner Tube to the Long Tube. ¼ 20 x 5 /8 Hex Head Bolt The 7 bolts are used to fasten the Slot Tubes to the Side Arms and the Corner Tubes. ¼ x 1 (SS) Fender Washer The 8 washers are used with the 7 ¼ 20 x 5/8 Hex Head Bolts & one ¼ 20 x 1 Hex Head Bolt. ¼ 20 x 1 Hex Head Bolt This bolt is used to fasten the Slide Lock Bar to the Side Arm. Bearing This bearing is placed over the ¼ 20 x 1 Hex Head Bolt. NOTE: Hardware illustrated on this page is to scale. PN 61340 Rev. B 2

Step #1 Locate Plate Under Spa Cover A. Find the aluminum plate located beneath the vinyl encasement. B. Use your fingers to locate the two predrilled holes in the aluminum plate as illustrated by the two dimples. C. Use a pointed instrument to mark a pilot hole in the center of each dimple. D. Repeat this process on the other side of the cover. Back side of Spa IMPORTANT: The Warning Label on the spa cover must be facing the front of the spa. 8 - #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screw 2 - Thick Side Hinge Step #2 Attach Thick Side Hinge to Cover Drill with a 1/8 bit Phillips Screwdriver Secure top screws to Thick Side Hinge A. Align the upper holes of the Thick Side Hinge on the right side of the cover (created in step #1). B. Using the 2 upper holes, fasten the Thick Side Hinge with 2 of the #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screws as illustrated above. C. Using a 1/8 drill bit, drill through the center of the 2 bottom holes as seen in the right Illustration (drill through the aluminum plate). D. Insert the two #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screws into the lower holes of the Thick Side Hinge and tighten. E. Repeat this process on the other side of the cover. Drill bottom holes PN 61340 Rev. B 3

GlideRite Retractable Cover System Step #3 Attach Base Tubes to Spa Baseboard 1 - Right Base Tube 1 - Left Base Tube Note: red sticker R is right Base Tube and green sticker L is left Base Tube. Drill with a 3/16 bit 7/16 Socket and Socket Wrench 8 - ¼ x 2 ½ Lag Bolt 8 - ¼ x 5/8 (Stainless Steel) Washer 1 - Corner Tube (used only as a spacer to position the Base Tube) (see Figure 1) Note: Determine right and left by standing behind the spa (face the spa). A. Hold the left Base Tube under the spa cabinet overhang and against the spa baseboard (right illustration) on the backside of the spa. The end of the plastic fitting on the Base Tube will extend to the left, rearward, and up. B. Using the Corner Tube as a spacer, slide the Back of spa Left Base Tube Corner Tube Corner Tube along the side of the spa (left illustration) until it is below the plastic fitting of the Base Tube (right illustration). Move the Base Tube until it touches the Corner Tube. C. Hold the Base Tube in position, remove and set aside the Corner Tube. D. Drill a pilot hole (3/16 ) into the spa baseboard using the first hole in the Base Tube nearest the plastic end fitting as a template. E. Secure the Base Tube with one ¼ x 2 ½ Lag Bolt and First Hole one ¼ x 5/8 (SS) Washer. F. Check the alignment by placing the Corner Tube in its spacer position once again. The Base Tube and Side Arm should be touching. G. Pre-drill and secure the next 3 holes in the Base Tube. H. Repeat the entire process for the right Base Tube. PN 61340 Rev. B 4

GlideRite Retractable Cover System Step #4 Long Tube to Corner Tube Preassembly Long Tube Left Corner Tube Right Corner Tube A. Place the Long Tube on the ground parallel to the back of the spa. The two pre-drilled holes and the Serial No. Label should be facing upwards. B. Place the Corner Tubes at each end of the Long Tube making sure right and left are in their proper position. The long leg of the Corner Tube should be facing towards the Long Tube with the short leg pointing upwards. C. Insert each Corner Tube into the ends of the Long Tube as illustrated below. Note: The entire assembly should be extended slightly beyond the sides of the spa. Step #5 Attach Slot Tube to Corner Tube Assembly 2 - Slot Tube 4 - ¼ 20 x 5/8 Hex Head Bolt 4 - ¼ x 1 (SS) Fender Washer 7/16 wrench Completed Assembly Left Side A. Thread two ¼ 20 x 5/8 Hex Head Bolts by hand into the nut inserts in the right Corner Tube (used in previous step) leaving a 1/8 gap between the washers and the Corner Tube. B. Slide one Slot Tube over the short leg of the right Corner Tube such that the slotted side passes under both of the Fender Washers as illustrated. C. The lower end of the Slot Tube should line up with the end of the bottom washer closest to the bend in the Corner Tube (right illustration). D. Tighten the two Hex Head Bolts. E. Step #6 Attach Long Tube Assembly to Base Tube Slot Screwdriver A. The Pivot Collar is located at the bend of the Corner Tube and requires repositioning. Slide the Pivot Collar up against the Slot Tube as illustrated. B. Tighten the set screw to secure (do not overtighten to avoid stripping the nylon threads). C. Repeat the process for the other Pivot Collar. D. Remove the single screw attached to the pivot location of the Pivot Collar. E. Attach the pivot location of the collar to the end fitting of the Base Tube by reinstalling the single screw through the collar and the Base Tube fitting (as illustrated) and tighten. Verify set screw on end fitting of Base Tube is tight. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! F. Repeat D and E for the Pivot Collar on the other side. Slide Pivot Collar up and fasten Attach Pivot Collar to Base Tube Step #7 Fasten Long Tube to Corner Tubes 2 #10 x ½ Pan Head Screw Drill with a 1/8 bit Phillips Screwdriver Fasten Long Tube to Corner Tubes A. Slide the Long Tube in either direction to center between the two Corner Tubes. B. Using the holes located at each end of the Long Tube as a template, drill 1/8 holes into each Corner Tube as illustrated above. C. Secure the Long Tube to the Corner Tubes using the two #10 x ½ Pan Head Screws. PN 61340 Rev. B 6

Step #8 Attach Side Arms to Slot Tubes 2 Side Arm 3 - ¼ 20 x 5/8 Hex Head Bolt 3 - ¼ x 1 (SS) Fender Washer 7/16 wrench Determine which side of the spa will be used to open and close the spa cover. A. Thread one ¼ 20 x 5/8 Hex Head Bolt with one ¼ x 1 (SS) Fender Washer into each of the nut inserts of one Side Arm (2 total) allowing 1/8 space between the washer and the Side Arm. B. Thread one ¼ 20 x 5/8 Hex Head Bolt with one ¼ x 1 (SS) Fender Washer into the nut insert nearest the open end of the other Side Arm allowing 1/8 space between the washer and the Side Arm. C. Take the Side Arm with only one bolt and washer to the side of the spa where the cover will be opened and closed. Slide the Side Arm into the Slot Tube past the empty nut insert (right illustration) then hand tighten the single bolt. D. Take the other Side Arm and slide it into the Slot Tube on the other side of the spa past the second bolt (left illustration) and hand tighten the two bolts. Step #9 Attach Side Arms to Side Hinge (Cover) Tape Measure Slot Screwdriver 7/16 Wrench Before attaching the Side Arms to the cover make sure the cover is square to the spa ensuring the best possible fit. Proper alignment of the cover is critical for the following step. Adjust if necessary. Center Screw Thick Side Hinge A. Remove the Center Screw from Thick Side Hinge on both sides of the cover (see illustration above). B. Rotate the entire Side Arm assembly forward (the assembly will pivot on the Base Tube). C. Insert the Center Screw through the eye of the Side Arm and hand tighten into the Thick Side Hinge (right illustration). D. Repeat this process for the other side. Thick Side Hinge End of Slot Tube End of Slot Tube E. Using a tape measure, measure the distance from the end of the Side Arm to the end of the Slot Tube (left illustration). F. Repeat step E on other side and compare the distances. G. Adjust until the distances are the same for both sides (it may be necessary to move the cover slightly to make that adjustment). H. Using the 7/16 wrench, tighten the single Hex Head Bolt attached to the Side Arm on the cover closing side and the two Hex Head Bolts attached to the Side Arm on the other side (these bolts were installed during step 8 A & B ). Step #10 Install Slide Lock Bar Hardware required Slide Lock Bar 1 - ¼ - 20 x 1 Hex Head Bolt 1 - ¼ x 1 (SS) Fender Washer 7/16 Wrench 4 - #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screw 1- Bearing 1- ¼ Plastic Washer Drill with 7/64 bit Phillips Screwdriver Thin Side Hinge with Screw IMPORTANT: This is a safety feature and must be not be omitted from the installation! A. Hold the Slide Lock Bar as illustrated for right side installation. Front Side Hold the Slide Lock Bar as illustrated for left side installation. NOTE: Holes in Slide Lock Bar will always be near back side of spa with thin part of bar on the bottom. B. Place the Bearing over the 1 Hex Head Hole A Bolt. C. Place the Bolt and Bearing in hole A from the backside of the Slide Lock Bar with the threads facing you. D. Place the 1 Fender Washer over the threads in front of the Slide Lock Bar. E. Remove the Center Screw holding the Side Arm to the Side Hinge bracket (right illustration). Repeat process on other side. F. Pivot the Side Arm assembly until the Side Arm is in a vertical position. G. Thread the bolt with Slide lock Bar into the only remaining nut insert on the Side Arm and tighten (left illustration). This Side Arm is located on the cover closing side. H. Lower the Side Arm assembly making sure the Slide Lock Bar faces the front of the spa. I. Replace the Center Screw holding the Side Arm to the cover as seen in the right illustration above and tighten. Repeat step I for the other side. J. Remove the Center Screw from the Thin Side Hinge. K. Place the Center Screw through the ¼ Plastic Washer. PN 61340 Rev. B 9

Step #10 Install Slide Lock Bar - Continued L. Place the Center Screw with Plastic Washer through the cut-out of the Slide Lock Bar and fasten to the Thin Side Hinge (upper right illustration) hand tighten only. M. Place the Slide Lock Bar in the horizontal position (lower left illustration). Measure over 5 from the Slot Tube and place a pencil mark on the top of the Slide Lock Bar. N. Move the Center Screw of the Side Hinge Bracket to the 5 pencil mark on the Slide Lock Bar. Line up the Thin Side Hinge and make a pencil mark across the top of the Thin Side Hinge onto the spa (upper right illustration). O. Fold the cover in half exposing the front half of the spa. Pivot the entire cover and assembly until it comes to rest as seen in the right illustration. P. Move the Side Hinge Bracket to the end of the Slide Lock Bar until bar drops and the Center Screw on the bracket locks into the large hole. Q. Locate the pencil mark from step N and position the Thin Side Hinge (lower illustration) placing the top of the Thin Side Hinge on the top pencil mark. Top pencil mark Side pencil mark NOTE: Center Screw on the Thin Side Hinge must be located in the large hole in the Slide Lock Bar before proceeding. R. Make a second pencil mark on the spa using the front side of the Thin Side Hinge as your guide. S. Remove the Slide Lock Bar, holding the Thin Side Hinge in position between the top and side pencil marks. PN 61340 Rev. B 10

Step #10 Install Slide Lock Bar - Continued T. Using the Thin Side Hinge as a template, drill upper right hole using 7/64 bit. U. Remove Center Screw from Thin Side Hinge. V. Fasten Thin Side Hinge with one #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screw. W. Drill remaining holes and secure Thin Side Hinge with the 3 remaining #10 x 1 ½ Flat Head Screws. X. Re-attach Slide Lock Bar to Thin Side Hinge using the Center Screw and ¼ Plastic Washer. Y. Test to be sure the Slide Lock Bar moves freely and locks each time the cover is opened. To close the cover, always lift the Slide Lock Bar first, then move the cover forward. Z. Locate Side Arm that is not using the Slide Lock Bar, place the Close from other side label on the upper portion (near plastic end fitting) facing away from spa. Locate Side Arm with Slide Lock Bar, place the Lift Slide Lock Bar to close label on the upper portion (near plastic end fitting) facing away from spa. Your GlideRite system in now operational. Be sure to lock your cover before leaving spa unattended. WARNING: Failure to lift Slide Lock Bar prior to closing can damage System! PN 61340 Rev. B 11
