From the 24 Nativity Scene Panel - lue (A): Fussy cut (1) 21 ½ x 41 panel. From the Stars n Snow - lack (), cut: (2) 2 ½ x 41 WOF strips. (2) 2 ½ x 25 ½ WOF strips. (2) 2 ½ x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (6) 2 ½ x 12 ½ strips. (1) 2 ½ x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (4) 2 ½ x 10 ½ strips. (2) 2 ½ x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (14) 2 ½ x 4 ½ strips and (4) 2 ½ squares. (5) 2 ½ x WOF strips for the binding. From the Ornaments - lue (), cut: (1) 4 ½ x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (4) 4 ½ squares. From the Angels - lue (), cut: (1) 4 ½ x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (6) 4 ½ squares. From the Splash - Wine (), cut: (5) 2 ½ x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (68) 2 ½ squares. From the Scroll - Ivory (F), cut: (2) 4 ½ x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (6) 4 ½ x 12 ½ strips. (1) 4 ½ x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (4) 4 ½ x 10 ½ strips. From the Patch - lue (acking), cut: (2) 44 x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 44 x 64 back. Sewing Instructions 1. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 41 Fabric strip to each side of the 21 ½ x 41 Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 25 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½ x 44 ½ to make the enter lock (Fig. 1). 2. Place (1) 2 ½ Fabric square on the left side of (1) 2 ½ x 4 ½ Fabric strip, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance. 3. Place another 2 ½ Fabric square on the right side of the 2 ½ x 4 ½ Fabric strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 5). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance to make (1) strip. 4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (14) strips total. Fig. 4 make 14 Fig. 5 5. Place (1) 2 ½ Fabric square on the top left corner of (1) 4 ½ x 10 ½ Fabric F strip, right sides together (Fig. 6). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 6). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 7). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼ away from the sewn seam. Fig. 6 Fig. 7
Page 2 6. Follow Figure 8 for the seam direction to add a 2 ½ Fabric square to each of the remaining corners of the 4 ½ x 10 ½ Fabric F strip to make (1) strip (Fig. 9). 7. Repeat Steps 5-6 to make (4) strips total. make 4 F 4 ½ x 10 ½ Fig. 8 Fig. 9 8. Repeat Steps 5-6 using (6) 4 ½ x 12 ½ Fabric F strips and (24) 2 ½ Fabric squares to make (6) Unit 3 strips (Fig. 10). Unit 3 make 6 Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling.) 9. Sew (3) Unit 3 strips and (2) 4 ½ Fabric squares together, alternating them to make (1) side strip. Repeat to make a second side strip. Sew (1) side strip to each side of the enter lock. 10. Sew (2) 4 ½ Fabric squares, (2) strips and (1) 4 ½ Fabric together. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the enter lock. 11. Sew (4) strips and (3) 2 ½ x 12 ½ Fabric strips together, alternating them. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew (1) strip to each side of the enter lock. 12. Sew (3) strips and (2) 2 ½ x 10 ½ Fabric strips together, alternating them. Sew (1) 2 ½ Fabric square to each end of the strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the enter lock to make the quilt top. Fig. 10 F 4 ½ x 12 ½ 13. Layer and quilt as desired. 14. Sew the (5) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 15. ind as desired.
