Warning Danger Danger Do not cross the wires on hookup!! Red wire to Positive battery terminal. Black wire to Negative battery terminal. Wireless Trolling Pro 2 of 13
Safety Warning Caution: Set the trolling motor to the OFF POSITION. SAFETY FIRST: then operations. CAUTION: When operating any machinery remember safety first. Never touch the prop when power is applied to the motor. Make sure your controller is in the OFF Mode. Do not cross the wires when connecting the Wireless Trolling Pro controller and the PWM power module!! This is very important. If you do you will destroy your new controller and PWM module. And that is not covered under warranty. You will be charged for the repairs. On top of that you will have to wait longer to use your controller to fish while the system is being repaired. The Red wire goes to the Positive side of the battery terminal. The Black wire goes to the Negative side of the battery terminal. Phone: (520) 329-3187 Website: www.wirelesstrollingpro.com
What to do with the Cables Caution: Set the trolling motor to the OFF SAFETY FIRST: then operations. Trim the Cables: Trolling Motor Power Cables 1. Cut the battery clamps off with at least 3 or cable. 2. Trim and install the 2 MALE connectors provided in your kit onto the Black wire and the Black wire with the Red stripe. Take these with you for emergency power connection. Just in case of PWM failure. Otherwise you will be paddling. Taking them with you means you can continue fishing until you are ready to leave. 3. Trim and install the 2 Female connectors to your trolling motor power cable. Connecting the Cables: 1. Trolling motor Black wire to the PWM Black wire 2. Trolling motor Black wire/red stripe wire to the PWM Red wire. 3. The PWM Black wire with the ring terminal gets attached to the NEGATIVE POST of your 12 Vdc battery. 4. The PWM Red wire with the ring terminal gets attached to one side of the Circuit Breaker. 5. The other end of the red wire to the POSITIVE POST of your 12Vdc battery. (See battery diagrams on pages 3 & 4). This completes your electrical hook up. Wireless Trolling Pro 4 of 13

All WTP PWM's require a Circuit Breaker to be installed in your system. You will need 1 Circuit Breaker, and wire assembly to connect to your battery. Can be purchased from any Automotive Parts House. All WTP power modules come with a # 10 wire ring on the Red battery cable for mounting to a circuit breaker of the proper amperage for your motor. The circuit breaker should be installed on the positive terminal of your battery. Circuit Breaker Circuit Breaker Install PWM Battery Installation 30 lb motor 30 Amp Circuit Breaker 40 lb motor 40 Amp Circuit Breaker 45 lb motor 50 Amp Circuit Breaker 55 lb motor 60 Amp Circuit Breaker or you can use two 30 Amp Circuit Breakers in parallel. DO NOT USE a 40 Amp and 20 Amp Circuit Breaker in parallel. This is just an example. There are many different types of circuit breakers. This goes to the Positive Battery Terminal. This is the Positive Battery cable to the 12v PWM driver module. Wireless Trolling Pro 7 of 13
Controller Functions Caution: Set the trolling motor to the OFF POSITION. SAFETY FIRST: then operations. Idle / Run Mode Forward / Reverse On / Off Speed Mode Functions of the Pot Switch Controller Phone: (520) 329-3187 Website: www.wirelesstrollingpro.com Wireless Trolling Pro 8 of 13
Testing the Controller Functions Caution: Set the trolling motor to the OFF POSITION. SAFETY FIRST: then operations. 1. Make sure your controller is in the OFF Mode. 2. Turn the trolling motor on by setting the power switch to the forward position number 5. You should only run your PWM in #5 mode for the best performance and maximum battery efficiency. If you test your controller motor functions with your trolling motor out of the water, do not run your motor for long periods of time as this will cause your motor to heat up and may cause premature motor failure. You can now test your system by running through the functions. Make sure to set the trolling motor switch to the OFF POSITION when you are done testing your system. Wireless Trolling Pro 9 of 13
Controller Knob Descriptions Functions of the Pot Switch Controller To turn on: Make sure the toggle switches are in Idle and Fwd modes. And the Pot pot set at 0 zero. If you have a wireless controller, turn the switch on the back of the battery clip, move the knob past zero. On/Off Mode: The On/Off Knob action turns the controller On and Off. Turn the knob all the way to the left and the controller goes into the Off mode. Turn the knob past 0 and the motor turns On. All the way to the right is full throttle. 0-100%. Toggle Switches Idle/Run Mode: Left toggle switch, stops the boat or allows the boat to move. Flip the switch down (Idle Mode), to stop the boat. Flip the switch up (Run Mode), to move the boat. FWD Mode: Right toggle switch flipped up sets the craft to FWD (forward) mode. Turn the knob to the right direction on the controller. This is the FWD (Forward) Mode. The craft moves in the forward direction. 0-100% movement. REV Mode: Right toggle switch flipped down reverses the motor. Turn the knob to the left direction, on the controller. This is the REV (Reverse) Mode. The craft moves in the reverse direction. Wireless Trolling Pro 10 of 13
Soft Start Function Pot Switch Controller Soft Start Function The Pot Switch controller has built in soft start function. How the soft start operates: Example: Lets say you are in the Forward (FWD) mode with the throttle set at 60. From there you can go to idle and the throttle goes from 60, down to idle mode in gradual steps. You go from run to idle. You, then go from idle to run with the switch and the motor increases speed in gradually back up to the 60 value without moving the throttle knob. This also will work in the forward (FWD) to reverse (REV) and reverse (REV) back to forward (FWD) speed. This allows you to control your craft without having to move the throttle from your selected speed. The soft start keeps the motor from jerking when changing operations modes. i.e. forward (FWD) to idle, forward (FWD) to reverse (REV) and reverse (REV) to idle. Wireless Trolling Pro 11 of 13
