1 3 2 Base Assembly Assembly Base Assembly 1. Attach the Left Hub/Side Assembly (1) to the Base Plate (2), using 1/"-20 x /8" Panhead Screws () and 1/" Lock Nuts (). The Side Plate goes on the outside of the tabs on the Base Plate (2). 2. Attach the Right Side Plate (3) to the Base Plate (2), using 1/"-20 x /8" Panhead Screws () and 1/" Lock Nuts (). The Side Plate goes on the outside of the tabs on the Base Plate (2). Working from the inside face of the Right Hub (6), fit the Internal Flange Pivot (7) through the center hole and attach, using three 1/"-20 x 7/8" Flat-Head Screws (8) and 1/"-20 Lock Nuts (). 2. From the other side of the Right Hub (6), slide the Right-Hand Swivel (9) onto the Internal Flange Pivot (7) until the narrow end of the Right-Hand Swivel (9) piece seats in the hole in the center of the Right Hub (6). 3. Fit the Right-Hand Clamp (12) onto the outside face of the Right Side Plate (3), using the center and fastener holes as a guide, and attach the clamp, using two 1/"-20 x 3/" Flat-Head Screws (10) and 1/"-20 Lock Nuts (). Thread the Four-Star Knob (11) into the Right-Hand Clamp (12), but don t tighten.. Position the Right Hub assembly on the inside of the Right Side Plate (3) so the Right-Hand Swivel is against the Right Side Plate and the Internal Flange Pivot (7) fits into the center hole and through the opening in the Right-Hand Clamp (12). Tighten the Four-Star Knob (11) to hold the assembly together (but don t overtighten).. From the inside of the Right Hub (6), insert the /16"-18 x 1 " Hex Bolt (13)through the Internal Flange Pivot (7). Thread the Handle (1) onto the hex bolt and secure with the /16"-18 Lock Nut (1).

If you fully tightened the screws and nuts connecting the Right and Left Side Plates to the Base Plate, loosen them a bit to provide working space for installing the Center Hub (16). 2. Position the Center Hub (16) between the Right and Left Hubs, taking care to align the fastener holes/slots.. Retighten the screws and nuts connecting the Right and Left Side Plates to the Base.. Attach the Hose Retaining Strap (18) to the inside face of the Right Hub (6), using the #8-32 x /8" Panhead Screw (19), Washer (17) and #8-32 Lock Nut (20). 3. Attach the Center Hub (16) to the Right and Left Hubs, using 1/"-20 x /8" Panhead Screws (), Washers (17) and 1/"-20 Lock Nuts (). Work from the outside faces of the hubs, so that the screw heads and washers are on the outside and the nuts are against the flange of the Center Hub (16).
22 22 21 21 21 22 Fig. 1 Mounting to Wall Studs 1. The Hose Reel must be mounted to wall studs spaced 16" on center. 2. Mark the locations for the top two mounting screws and drill pilot holes for 3/8" x 2" Lag Screws (21). 3. Fit a 3/8" Flat Washer (22) onto each screw. Drive the screws into the studs until they re about 1" from being fully seated.. Decide whether you want the Handle of the Hose Reel to be on the right or the left side. Orient the Hose Reel as desired and lift it onto the top two 3/8" x 2" Lag Screws (21). Fig. 1.. Mark the locations for the bottom two 3/8" x 2" Lag Screws (21), using the bottom keyhole slots in the Base Plate (2) as a guide. 6. Lift the Hose Reel off the top two Lag Screws (21) to remove it. Drill pilot holes for the lower set of Lag Screws (21). 7. Return the Hose Reel onto the top two Lag Screws, making sure that the 3/8" Washers (22) make it through the keyhole openings in the Base Plate (2). Check that the Hose Reel is level and then drive the 3/8" x 2" Lag Screws (21) until they are fully tightened. Fig. 1. Inset. 8. Fit a 3/8" Flat Washer (22) onto each of the remaining two 3/8" x 2" Lag Screws (21) and drive the screws into the lower two pilot holes to fully secure the Hose Reel. Fig. 2 6
Fig. 3 Attaching Hoses 1. Attach your 11 2" hose to a port that has a 21 " outside diameter on one end. 2. Press the 21 " OD end of the port into the Shop Vacuum Port on the inside of the Hose Reel. Fig. 2. 3. Unscrew the Hose Retraining Strap (18) from the Right Hub (6) and fit the strap around the hose.. Make sure there s enough slack in the hose to prevent kinking and reattach the Hose Retraining Strap (18) to the Right Hub (6). Fig. 3.. The Shop Vacuum Port on the outside of the Hose Reel has an OD of 21 2" and an ID of 21 ". You can fit 21 2" hose directly onto the port and secure it with a hose clamp, or you could use a fitting like the 21 2" Swivel Fitting for Shop Vacs (31660, sold separately). Controlling Unwinding Speed 1. Once the 11 2" hose is connected, loosen the Four-Star Knob (11) and use the handle to wind the hose fully onto the Hose Reel. The reel can accommodate up to 0' of 11 2" hose. 2. Gently pull the hose to begin unwinding. Tighten or loosen the Four-Star Knob (11) to adjust the resistance, but be careful not to overtighten or you could damage the mechanism. Fig.. Check Rockler.com for updates to these instrutions.
