Director of KHWCC, Swedish born Henrik Korpela came to Switzerland as watchmaker & aftersales services manager in a company near Zürich. In 2004 he moved to WOSTEP in Neuchâtel as an eager advanced student and was soon asked to become a teacher there. Henrik entered a new challenge by founding his own school in 2010 with extended fullskill training in mind. «Jura neuchâtelois, heart of Watch Valley, was the place to settle this school. One finds here much of the rich history and vivid present of watchmaking, and also great museums!» XII 6 9
Motivating facilities for commitment and demanding work Individualized training toward knowledge, skill and creativity And more : specific workshops, lectures, collaborations, repairs... KHWCC is a private and independent institution gathering the most up-to-date equipment in its bright wide spaces. KHWCC s two year program of courses (in English, technical terms translated) and practice brings an unrivaled training of approx. 4000 hours at the bench dealing with the fundamentals of micromechanics and watchmaking. Students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to adapt to the ever-evolving watchmaking industry. Its fullskill training aside, KHWCC develops specific workshops on demand for companies, institutions and individuals. In this environment, similar to facilities found in the watchmaking industry and aftersales service centers, students enjoy a small team atmosphere and top accessibility to instructors and equipment. These ideal conditions await students fully aware of the self-motivation, discipline and careful work required for entering a career in high-end watchmaking. Dedicated attention by one teacher at any one time is a flexible and efficient way of instruction adapted to a student s individual progress. This style of instruction facilitates exploration of technical creativity, design and innovation. Students who succeed in intermediate and final exams are awarded KHWCC s fullskill diploma. KHWCC is also keen to develop contacts with scientists and research organisations and programs through cooperation on special projects, participation in lectures in Switzerland and abroad as well as production of technical articles. As a passionate and ambitious watchmaker, Henrik Korpela is always pleased to devote his best knowledge & know-how to any repair, restoration or development regarding a historical, vintage or luxury watch!
