Lindner represents employers in a wide range of labor and employment matters and focuses her practice on employment and benefits litigation, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under federal, state and local antidiscrimination laws. She also handles claims under: Title VII The Americans with Disabilities Act The Age Discrimination in Employment Act The Family and Medical Leave Act The Fair Labor Standards Act The Employee Retirement Income Security Act The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act Wisconsin and Illinois state fair employment and leave acts She represents clients in state and federal courts, as well as before federal, state, and municipal administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also has defended employers in labor arbitrations. Laura has served as lead counsel in class and collective actions and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission pattern and practice suits. Some of her notable litigation successes have included the defense of FMLA interference and 1
retaliation cases, age and gender discrimination claims, including class action claims, and sexual harassment and battery claims. In addition, Laura handles state tort, breach-of-contract, non-compete, and trade secret claims. She also counsels employers on: Litigation strategy and avoidance Class action avoidance strategies Conducting investigations of harassment and other employee misconduct Leaves of absence and accommodation issues Discrimination and harassment issues Most commonly, Laura works with clients in the following industries: Telecommunications Manufacturing Retail Pharmaceutical Healthcare Printing Laura was named the 2012 Up & Coming Employment Lawyer of the Year by Chambers USA, the leading publisher of legal guides throughout the world. Lindner received the award at the Women in Law Awards ceremony honoring outstanding females in the U.S. legal community. Winners were selected based on rankings from corporate counsel throughout the U.S. Laura was the first litigation shareholder in Littler Mendelson's Milwaukee office. Prior to joining the firm, she was a shareholder and member of the board of directors at other firms. She was also senior counsel at a global telecommunications company where she handled employment and benefits litigation for the Midwest Region.
