SCHEME OF EXAMINATION The examination shall comprise three compulsory papers, namely Papers 1, 2 and 3. Papers 1 and 2 shall be a composite one and will be taken at one sitting. Paper 1: This shall consist of 40 compulsory multiple choice questions to be answered within 45 minutes for 40 marks.. Paper 2: This shall comprise two sections, Sections A and B and will take 2 hours. Section A: Section B: This shall consist of ten compulsory short structured questions to be answered within 30 minutes for 20 marks. This shall consist of three questions on design and drawing one of which shall be compulsory. Each question shall require sketches. Candidates shall be required to answer the compulsory question for 30 marks and any other question for 10 marks. The section shall take 1½ hours. Paper 3: Shall consist of one practical task to be performed within 3 hours for 100 marks. A list of materials for the test shall be made available to schools not less than two weeks before the scheduled date for the paper, for procurement and preparation for the test. Alternatively, Council may consider testing candidates using the alternative to practical work method in the event of constraints on requisite facilities. For this, there shall be two compulsory questions for candidates to answer within 2 hours for 100 marks. These shall test candidates real time experience in the workshops on safe use of tools, marking out, processing parts to specification, use of materials, etc. Freehand sketches of projects, tools and machines relating to furniture making may be required.
