THE JANA WAY Jana has a core set of Values that has established a strong culture that is often referred to as The Jana Way. The Jana Way is guided by these values as they are identified in our Corporate Commitment Document. This important document takes each core Value and outlines our underlying Beliefs associated with that Value (for example: for safety, we believe that all accidents are preventable). From those Beliefs we have drawn out and written down the Philosophy that guides us in relation to that Value. Finally, from the philosophy we have written down Operating Principles guiding our behavior relating to the Value. Abiding by the content of the Corporate Commitment Document has established and grown our Culture in a most beneficial way. It also makes Jana very predictable in its behavior as we will always act in accordance with our explicit Values. From Values comes behavior and the Jana Way is the result of the sum of those behaviors. From our Corporate Commitment Document: Vision: Jana: The pre-eminent piping systems knowledge solutions Firm in the world. Direction: Our Values First! Mission: We make our Clients WIN! PRODUCT Taking new products to market, or existing products into new applications, can be a daunting challenge. A cornerstone of success is the effective and efficient Validation and Verification of products for their intended applications. Jana integrates its wide range of service offerings to do just that! These projects vary in scope and complexity, however the one consistent component is that we provide to our Clients a more predictable and considerably shorter timeline to bring a product to market than would otherwise be possible. With fast screening technologies that key off the specifics of the intended application and global participation in the world s standards processes, we can drive products to market faster and with greater technical success than any other approach available in the world. This effectively allows the project to be funded by the increased revenues from earlier-than-otherwiseachievable sales. Jana can be part of the process in support of your internal experts or we can manage the process completely; either way, we have what it takes to let you get on with the business of serving your customers and growing your business! Product Validation Verification Standards Development Certification Support Fast Screening & Validation Drive Products to Market Faster with Greater Technical Success ISO, ASTM, CSA, DIN, CEN, etc. Standard Test Methods Jana Proprietary Test Methods Life-Time Assessment & Performance Validation

APPLICATION Pipelines are a significant component of the infrastructure of a civilized world; they are used to bring water, gas, oil, etc. from their source to the consumer. Because a small extension of any pipeline s operating life can represent a huge benefit to the owners of the pipeline by increasing the return on investment and delaying a capital investment for replacement, Jana employs its vast knowledge and experience in assessing pipelines in terms of expected and residual lifetime. In addition, we are able to apply state-of-the-art technology in the choice of materials and installation approach when new pipelines are being considered. This ensures that the new pipelines will meet the economic and performance expectations of its owners. Increasing the safety in the operation of the pipeline by ensuring the integrity of the physical pipeline itself also brings measurable value in terms of increased reliability, reduced maintenance costs, reduced incident costs and increased community goodwill. When there is a problem, such as a failure, Jana can determine the root cause of the failure and make an assessment as to the implications of this failure to the overall pipeline. We can provide effective technical management of the functional integrity of pipelines to ensure that the investment reflected in these pipelines provides the optimal return on investment for its stakeholders. Application Failure Analysis Failure Analysis Assessment Standards & Codes Validation Approaches Residual Lifetime Assessment Direct Assessment of Distribution Pipelines New Product Validation

SYSTEM Billions of meters of plastic pipe and millions of valves, fittings and joints have been installed around the world. Many systems are used to manage these pipelines and, as the existing pipeline infrastructure continues to age, proactive measures are being introduced to ensure the continued safe operation of these systems. Key to these integrity management efforts is knowledge of the system in terms of specific material, location and expected system lifetime. Jana assists its Clients in specific material identification, material and component location and through characterization of potential field failure modes and the utilization of advances in characterization of plastic piping materials, we are able to assess the integrity and residual life-time of in-the-ground piping systems. We also work with our Clients to develop integrity assurance programs for new pipelines so that the proper measures to ensure longterm system operability are in place and verified before the pipe goes in the ground. These programs cover systems for selection and technical acceptance of products for the pipeline, installation assurance programs and systems for tracking and monitoring of pipeline performance.
