Intrinsically Safe Connection Diagrams If your Model 83.-D/-T I/A Series Vortex Flowmeter is classified as intrinsically safe, connect per the following control diagrams for the appropriate agency. Factory Mutual (FM) Certified HAZARDOUS LOCATION NONHAZARDOUS LOCATION CLASS I, DIVISION 1, GROUPS A, B, C, D CLASS II, DIVISION 1, GROUPS E, F, G CLASS III, DIVISION 1 INTRINSICALLY SAFE FLOWMETER 4-20 ma FM ENTITY TRANSMITTER APPROVED ASSOCIATED APPARATUS OR BARRIER INTRINSICALLY SAFE GROUND (NOTE 2) NOTE: THE PULSE CIRCUIT IS ISOLATED FROM THE 4-20 ma LOOP. ENTITY PARAMETERS V max = 36.1 V I max = 150 ma Ci = 3 nf Li = 0 nh PULSE FM ENTITY APPROVED ASSOCIATED APPARATUS OR BARRIER NOTES: 1. BARRIER MUST BE INSTALLED IN AN ENCLOSURE THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF ANSI/ISA S82.01. 2. RESISTANCE BETWEEN INTRINSICALLY SAFE GROUND AND EARTH GROUND MUST BE LESS THAN 1 OHM. 3.
