If installing channel in a location where it will be in direct contact with water (rain, sprinkler spray, etc.) weep holes should be drilled to allow water to drain out of channel. Drill holes every 12 and in such a way that water in the channel will run out through them. Holes should be approximately 1/16 to 1/8 in diameter. When considering weep hole locations, be aware that light may leak from weep holes and try to position them out of normal viewing angles. 2.1 Channel without mounting clips: drill screws directly through the channel and into the mounting surface. 1 screw every 2 feet if recommended. 3. 3.1 Channel with mounting clips: mount 1 clip per foot by screwing down each clip to mounting surface. 3.2 Snap channel into clips. Join channels end to end if aligning multiple pieces for longer runs. 3.3 Before mounting tape, clean inside of aluminum channel 1 using a lint free cloth with rubbing alcohol and allow channel to dry. 1 of 11
INSTALLATION WITH CHANNEL 4. 5. 4.1 Apply a bead of 3M 1099 adhesive to channel. *3M 1099 Adhesive supplied by others FLEX.ZIP 3 5.1 Install FLEX.ZIP mounting clip 3 away from end of mounting tape. 5.2 Unroll FLEXDC strip and place on top of silicone bead pressing down firmly to set in place. 5.3 Remove excess silicone from channel with a lint free cloth. *FLEXDC must be clamped or weighted down while curing to ensure proper bond to channel. **Installations in cold locations may require the use of heaters to allow for proper curing. ***Allow silicone to cure for 24 hours. 6. 6.1 Snap or slide lens into channel. 6.2 Install channel endcaps. 2 of 11

Use of any other driver must be approved by Optic Arts prior to use in order to maintain warranty. 1.3 EMCOD MLV drivers must be loaded between 80% and 100%. 1.4 PURE DC drivers and electronic drivers have no minimum load. 1.5 Ensure that the proper wire gauge is used in order to minimize voltage drop. 1.6 Make certain that the polarity is correct prior to energizing system.
