Transmission Lines Maximizing installation flexibility and operational performance through constant innovation T h e C l e a r C h o i c e

The industry s most advanced transmission-line family CELLFLEX Lite The world s first corrugated aluminum transmission line A comprehensive transmission line portfolio to fit every need A tradition of continuous innovation World-class innovation in transmission lines The most stringent reliability requirements The CELLFLEX and CELLFLEX Lite duo make up the largest corrugated transmission line portfolio in the wireless infrastructure industry. The foam dielectric cables combine remarkable flexibility with high strength and superior electrical performance. This premium transmission line family is backed by a complete line of accessories common to both the copper and aluminum products, including the renowned OMNI FIT connector range. CELLFLEX cables provide a reliable and technically superior solution when used as backbone feeders in cellular radio systems, including GSM, UMTS, CDMA, PDC and LTE, as well as WIMAX. Other common uses for the CELLFLEX family include the cabling of antenna arrays, radio equipment interconnections and jumper assemblies. 19 unique CELLFLEX types, ranging in size from 1/8 to 2-1/4, provide users a perfect match for the most complicated and demanding applications. Every cable comes with a guarantee of reliability, performance and cost-effectiveness from the most experienced and innovative cable manufacturer in the world Radio Frequency Systems. Designing better performing, more durable and lighter cables is part of RFS long tradition of innovation leadership. The Hackethaldraht Company RFS direct predecessor was established in Hanover, Germany on September 29, 1900, and was responsible for many transmission-line firsts. An important milestone was set in 1951 with the invention of corrugated, longitudinally welded coaxial cables. This technology gave way in 1962 to the launch of foam dielectric coaxial cables by the then renamed Kabelmetal Corporation. CELLFLEX would quickly become the preferred cable choice for mobile communication base station applications. The original copper CELLFLEX cable has served as the design basis for the extremely light CELLFLEX Lite corrugated aluminum outer conductor cable, as well as the groundbreaking 1/8 high-power CELLFLEX MicroFlex cable. Even today, RFS premium-attenuation, low-loss line is clearly leading the industry in terms of electrical performance. CELLFLEX Lite is a foam dielectric corrugated coaxial cable with an aluminum outer conductor and a copper inner conductor. With a considerably reduced weight, CELLFLEX Lite is easy to transport, handle and install, and has become a preferred cable option for the rapid rollout of wireless network infrastructure around the world. Freed from the unpredictable market price of copper, CELLFLEX Lite offers an alternative price point and performance combination for establishing the base station-to-antenna RF link, while meeting budget targets during network rollout. Unlike alternative constructions, RFS corrugation technology allows CELLFLEX Lite aluminum cables to bend easily without risk of damage due to high bending forces. This feature, coupled with its lightweight design, allows for fast installation and makes it ideal for congested tower-top applications. CELLFLEX Lite has been optimized to deliver world-class attenuation, return-loss and intermodulation performance. The electrical performance of CELLFLEX Lite is equivalent or superior to that of most other brands copper transmission cables. Simulation of Accelerated Lifetime Qualification tests have been performed on CELLFLEX Lite cables according to international standards to confirm that outstanding product performance is maintained after severe mechanical and environmental stress. The conditions applied during the tests are more severe than those experienced in real-life applications and simulate numerous years of use. These accelerated lifetime tests guarantee troublefree performance for more than 15 years. Simulation of accelerated lifetime Numerical modeling of mechanical and electro-magnetic properties Improved performance with CELLFLEX Factory- Fit jumpers RFS CELLFLEX Factory-Fit Jumper Cables are mainly used between main feeders and antennas or main feeders and system equipment. The use of jumpers provides important benefits: greater flexibility when antennas need to be changed due to network upgrades or when networks mature, reduced mechanical stress on antennas and connectors, and better accessibility of feeder terminations (for troubleshooting). CELLFLEX foam dielectric jumper cables provide the ideal combination of low loss, high strength and highest flexibility for optimum performance. The characteristics of CELLFLEX jumper cables are: Excellent contact force Low and stable IM3 intermodulation product Excellent RF screening effectiveness Designed to IP68 classification In addition, RFS offers UCF78 cables for a jumperless scenario. 2 3

Thinking ahead with CELLFLEX and CELLFLEX Lite: Corrugated cables OMNI FIT connectors: Total compatibility Based on several decades of engineering expertise in cable manufacturing, RFS offers cables with an advanced corrugation profile, which, unlike alternatives, enables CELLFLEX copper and CELLFLEX Lite aluminum cables to bend easily without risk of damage due to high bending forces. These cables are used for state-of-the-art transmission lines built to match the diverse installation requirements of companies and carriers. RFS corrugated cable family was conceived to meet the strict demands of today s telecommunications industries, and to help meet customers future environmental strategies. Corrugated cables from RFS are easier to reuse and recycle than competing cables on the market. CELLFLEX and CELLFLEX Lite do not feature bonded layers, making it easy to extract pure copper parts from the transmission lines when future network improvements require an overhaul of materials. Easy-torecycle materials have an obvious benefit for the environment, and can also generate significant savings for customers by the resale of raw materials or the minimization of waste management costs. CELLFLEX key features and benefits Extremely low attenuation values High flexibility Available with UV-resistant black-colored or gray-colored jackets High screening effectiveness Rugged design Corrugated conductors Excellent return loss CELLFLEX Lite key features and benefits Lightweight transmission-line solution Provides a cost-effective alternative to copper transmission lines Is offered in diameter sizes from 1/2 to 1-5/8 Offers user-friendly compatibility with RFS proven range of accessories. OMNI FIT connectors can be used with both copper and aluminum cables Enables trouble-free installation and operation Boasts an attenuation of less than 6.25dB/100m @ 2 GHz (valid for 7/8 ) Specially developed connectors provide low and stable intermodulation performance Is available with UV-resistant polyethylene or flame-retardant jackets Has a return loss performance equal to that of copper cables from competing cable suppliers Permits long cable lengths for reliable installation on high towers, ensuring that link budget targets can be met Easy handling facilitates quick installation Choice of UV-resistant color low visual impact No distortion of neighboring systems Resists extreme weather conditions and harsh environments Standard procedures for connectorization no additional tools or training needed Perfect solution for highly sensitive applications Easy to transport, handle and install. Rapid rollout of wireless network infrastructure possible: first to market. Savings in shipping costs. Reduced CAPEX spending Covers the majority of applications Less inventory, reduced operating working capital (OWC) No downtime, reduced risk Uninterrupted coverage No sensitivity degradation of the base station system. No dropped calls Choice of standard halogen-free or flame-retardant jacket options Continuous premium antenna system performance Full copper and aluminum compatibility RFS connectors are designed for high performance, easy installation and full compatibility. The entire range of the breakthrough Premium and Standard OMNI FIT connectors works with both copper and aluminum cables. A given connector, for instance, adapts to four different 7/8-inch cable types, providing considerable storage savings and reducing installation errors. A perfect complement to the CELLFLEX transmission line range, OMNI FIT connectors provide users with familiar connection options, premium electrical characteristics, and reliable, long-life usage. Full copper and aluminium compatibility New OMNI FIT Premium connectors OMNI FIT Premium, RFS new line of premium RF-connectors, features design breakthroughs for best-inclass performance and value.
