For FDM Express Server installation, FDM Client and RCI are required and they are automatically selected and installed during the installation. FDM Client: FDM client is the user interface component of the FDM application. The client enables you to connect-to FDM Server and performs various functionalities supported by FDM. FDM RCI: Remote Communication Interface (RCI) is the component in FDM that manages the interaction with devices connected to the communication interfaces. It is also included in the FDM Express installation. The following table lists the communication interfaces and the respective device which can be connected. Communication Interfaces Devices HART Profibus RS-232 HART Modem Supported Not applicable RS-485 HART Multiplexer Supported Not applicable Communication/Gateway DTMs Supported Supported The FDM RCI is installed in FDM Express Server. License information Mux Monitoring Solution: This component, available with the full FDM product, is not available with FDM Express. FDM HART Multiplexer: This component, also available with the full FDM product, is not available with FDM Express Station Maintenance View: This option is only used with Experion for the full FDM product. It is not available with FDM Express. An FDM Express license upgrade is a requirement for the software to function. The Server Management Tool provides the functionality to manage the license for FDM. Using the Licensing option, you can upgrade (install) the provided FDM Express license.
