To start drawing Fold 3, click on the left endpoint (green dot) of Fold 1. Make sure that the green dot is displayed. 4. Click on the top horizontal line of the rectangle to set the end point of Fold 3. Make sure a yellow dot is displayed. DO NOT click on the green dot at the corner of the rectangle, or you will get an error message when dimensioning stating: Adding this dimension will over-constrain the sketch. Paper Airplane Page 8
Draw Fold 4 1. On the layers list, select Fold4. 2. To start drawing Fold 4, click on the left endpoint (green dot) of Fold 1. Make sure that the green dot is displayed. Paper Airplane Page 9
3. Click on the right vertical line of the rectangle halfway between the midpoint and top right corner to set the end point of Fold 4. Make sure a yellow dot is displayed. Dimension Fold 2 1. Click the Sketch Tab. 2. Click Dimension from the Constrain toolbar. Paper Airplane Page 10
3. Move the cursor to the top left corner of the rectangle you drew at the beginning of the activity. Click on the red dot. 4. Move the cursor to the endpoint of Fold 2 located on the top horizontal line of the rectangle. Click on the red dot. 5. Move the cursor upward to display the dimension. 6. Click to place the dimension between the drawn green line of the rectangle, and the already drawn dimension line of the rectangle. (Do not close this dimension box) Paper Airplane Page 11
7. Move the cursor over the 215.9 dimension you placed on the left vertical line of the rectangle. When the cursor changes to a hand symbol as pictured below, click that dimension. You will see 8. Next enter /2 in the Edit Dimension box, and press Enter. This will take the 215.9 dimension, and divide it by two which is equal to 107.95. Dimension Fold 3 1. Click on Fold 1 line (the first dashed line you created). 2. Click on Fold 3 line (the line you just created). 3. Drag your mouse to the center between Fold 1 and Fold 3 to display the dimension, and click to place the dimension. Paper Airplane Page 12
4. Enter 90/4 in the Edit Dimension box, and press Enter. You just created an angled dimension by entering the equation 90 divided by 4. The equation is equal to 22.5. Dimension Fold 4 1. Click on Fold 1 line (the first dashed line you created). 2. Click on Fold 4 line (the line you just created). 3. Drag your mouse to the center between Fold 1 and Fold 4 to display the dimension. 4.
