Melissa Dunhy (b. 1980) has comosed in a wide range o styles and mediums, articularly in the realm o theatre. Her nationally acclaimed large-scale choral work The Gonzales Cantata (www.gonzalescantata.com) remiered at the 2009 Philadelhia Fringe Festival, enjoyed a sold-out run in 2011 at the American Oera Theater, and has received rave ress and reviews rom The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Harer's Magazine, and MSNBC's Rachel Maddow ( the coolest thing you will ever see on this show ). Melissa has received awards and honors rom the National Oera Association, National Association o Teachers o Singing, ASCAP/Lotte Lehmann Foundation, the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, Network or New Music, and the National Association o Comosers, among others. Melissa was awarded an Associate Diloma in viola erormance rom the Australian Music Examinations Board at age 16. She has a Bachelor o Music (summa cum laude, Pi Kaa Lambda) rom West Chester University, and she is currently undertaking doctoral studies in comosition at the University o Pennsylvania on a Benjamin Franklin Fellowshi.
