IMPORTNT NOTES Thank you for buying a RYLINE XIS shower door! efore you begin, please take a few minutes to read the following notes and record your product information. Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference. We recommend that you read through entire manual EFORE beginning the installation. Please ensure that your shower base is properly installed against the 2x4 stud frame and that it is perfectly leveled. pply 100% silicone around the base (where the tile meets the acrylic) before installing the door. Use wood reinforcement where the threshold of your base meets the tile; this is where your shower doors will mount to the wall. If you are building a custom base, please contact RYLINE (1.800.794.4667) for details and base specifications in order to ensure that the doors and base will work together. Please note that this is a 2 person installation, and that safety glasses and safety shoes must be used during the installation. Safety gloves are also recommended to ease the handling of glass panels. Inspect your unit upon opening. If any hardware or glass panels are damaged in any way, contact RYLINE immediately. Do not install damaged units. Ensure that the bottom edges of your glass panels are always protected during installation (you can use the cardboard box supplied with your unit). lso, please note that all glass panels are tempered. Exercise caution at all times in order to prevent chipping or cracking your glass. NEVER install glass panels that are either chipped, cracked, or damaged in any other way. Please check your glass panels carefully before installation. If your glass panels are damaged, please contact RYLINE (1.800.794.4667). Tempered glass becomes hazardous once it is damaged. NOTE: wall jamb extension and wall mount expansion are included with your XIS shower door. Please note that these parts can be used if your opening is larger than average. 1. Install housing assemblies to door panel D Set your door panel (2) in the unit and rest it against the wall (this will ease installation in later steps). Ensure that the handle side of the door panel is located on the proper side (for a left hand door the holes will be located on the left side, for a right hand door, the holes will be located on the right side). Ensure that the panel is well secured and that the bottom edge is protected (you can lay a piece of cardboard or an old bed sheet or towel on the floor). Mount both housings (6) to the front of the door panel as shown and secure to the glass using the large mounting nuts from the rear. Do not tighten the nuts all the way. Using a square, check that both housings are perpendicular to the top edge of the glass as shown. s you do this, tighten the nuts using an llen key to lock in the position. Do not install the lower housing or back plate at this point. 2 6 x2 90 x2 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 4

2. Install wall jamb On the side where your fixed panel will be mounted, measure 1/2 from the edge of the base and mark a line as shown. Place the wall jamb (11) against the wall and center it with the mark on the base. Using a level, adjust the wall jamb until it is plumb. Mark the three holes (located inside the wall jamb) onto the wall using a pen or pencil. 1/2 11 x4 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 5

3. Install wall jamb (continued) D Using a 5/16 ceramic drill bit, drill four holes into your wall through the center marks drawn earlier (if mounting into a stud, see Step 3c). Insert the plastic wall anchors (27) into the holes (not needed if drilling into a stud, see Step 3c). If mounting to a stud, use the 5/16 bit to drill through the tile only, and then follow-up with a 1/8 bit to drill pilot holes into your stud to ease the installation of the screws. pply a small bead of 100% silicone to each hole, mount the wall jamb (3), and fasten the provided screws (24). x4 5/16 27 x4 24 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 6

4. Install fixed panel arefully slide the fixed panel (1) into the wall jamb as shown. Ensure that the panel is parallel to the edge of the base. Ensure that the front edge of the return panel is as level as possible. You may insert one of the provided plastic shims (25) under the corner of the panel should you need to. UTION: Since the panel sits close to the edge of the base, use extreme caution to ensure that the panel stays in place and does not get knocked off of the base until it is firmly fastened. 1 25 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 7

5. ssemble rail components Set the wall mount brackets (7) fully onto each end of the rail (6) and fix in place by tightening the inner set screws (see below) with an llen key. Ensure that the hole in the rail faces outwards and roughly lines up with the hole in the fixed panel. 7 6 x2 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 8

6. djust fixed panel Hold up the rail assembly so that the hole in the rail roughly aligns with the hole in the fixed panel. djust the fixed panel by sliding it in or out of the wall jamb until the hole in the panel lines up with the hole in the rail. Measure the gap (if any) between the end of the rail assembly and the wall and take note. The gap should not exceed 0.75. XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 9

7. Mount rail assembly to fixed panel Hold the rail in place behind the fixed panel so that the holes are lined up. Install the rail to the fixed panel using the fixed panel rail mount assembly (9) as shown below. Ensure that the rail is well secured by tightening the bolt using an llen key. Do not install the cap at this point. Using an llen key, loosen the wall mount on the wall side and slide towards the wall to eliminate any gaps. Re-tighten the set screws. Do the same thing for the corner wall mount, but slide it out no more than 0.75 from the end of the rail. Re-tighten the set screws. 9 3/4 max XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 10

8. Level rail assembly Place a level on top of the rail and adjust the rail by gently rotating it until the assembly is horizontal. Ensure that the rail is perfectly level, as this will keep your door from opening or closing on its own. Mark the two holes in the wall mount onto the wall using a pen or pencil. XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 11

9. D Install wall mount to wall Remove the rail assembly and fixed panel for safety, and drill two holes into your wall through the center marks using a 5/16 drill bit. Use a bit appropriate to your wall finish. Insert the wall anchors (26) into the holes (not needed if drilling into a stud; see Step 9c). If mounting to a stud, use the 5/16 bit to drill through the tile only, and then follow-up with a 1/8 bit to drill pilot holes into your stud to ease the installation of the screws. Reinstall the fixed panel and rail to the same location (see Steps 4-7) D 5/16 26 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 12

10. Install wall mounts to wall (continued) arefully rotate the rail back into position so that the holes in the wall mount bracket align with the holes in the wall. Loosen the set screws in the wall-side wall mount bracket and slide it up to the wall; re-tighten set screws. heck the rail to ensure that it still sits level. Fasten the wall mount bracket to the wall using the supplied large Philips-head screws (21). Tighten the screws far enough to hold the rail in place securely, but do not tighten all the way. The longer Philips-head screws should be used with the expansion brackets (see Step 11). 21 8 see Step 11, p14 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 13

11. Mark return panel position NOTE: The center line of your return panel should ideally fall anywhere from the center of the threshold to no less than 0.5 from the edge of the base. To locate the center line of your return panel, place the second wall jamb up against the end of the rail/wall mount and adjust until plumb using a level as shown. If the center line of the wall jamb does not fall in the correct area, you may be required to lengthen the rail by using the wall mount extension and wall jamb extension (see Step 11b) or by adjusting the fixed panel by pulling it in or out of the wall jamb. If you require additional adjustment via the use of the wall mount extension (8) and wall jamb extension (12), you will be required to remove the rail, fixed panel, and wall jamb from the wall in order to install. The extensions get installed using the same holes in the wall, however be sure to use the longer screws. Reinstall and level all components. see Step 10, p13 8 12 see Step 3, p6 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 14

12. Mark return panel position (continued) Once you are satisfied with the location, mark the center line of the wall jamb onto the base (check again to make sure it is level), and carry the line to the wall on the return panel side. Ensure that this line stays parallel to the edge of the base. Tighten the wall mount screws (21) all the way. Remember, the longer Philips-head screws should be used with the wall mount extension. XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 15

13. Install guide block Place the guide block (14) on the base and slide it over the edge of the fixed panel. Mark the holes onto the base using a pen or pencil. Note that two blocks are included with your hardware, a left-hand version and a right-hand version; use the one appropriate to your installation. Remove the guide block, and drill two holes into the base through the center marks using a 1/8 drill bit. pply a small bead of silicone into the holes, reposition the block, and fasten it to the base using the provided short countersunk screws (23). cryline recommends using clear 100% silicone. 14 1/8 23 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 16

14. Install return panel wall jamb On the side where your return panel will be mounted, place and center the wall jamb (11) on the line drawn in Step 12a. Using a level, adjust the wall jamb until it is plumb. Mark the four holes (located inside the wall jamb) onto the wall using a pen or pencil. 11 x4 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 17

15. Install return panel wall jamb (continued) Repeat Step 3 for the return panel. Install the wall jamb extension (12) in between the wall jamb and the wall. x4 5/16 12 x4 27 24 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 18

16. Install return panel arefully slide the return panel (3) into the wall jamb as shown. Ensure that the panel is parallel to the edge of the base. djust the return panel by sliding it in or out of the wall jamb until the holes in the panel line up exactly with the holes in the outer wall mount. Note that the front edge of the panel should line up with the front surface of your fixed panel. Ensure that the front edge of the return panel is as level as possible. You may insert one of the provided plastic shims (25) under the corner of the panel should you need to. Ensure that the holes in the corner side wall mount line up with the holes in the return panel. UTION: Since the panel sits close to the edge of the base, use extreme caution to ensure that the panel stays in place and does not get knocked off of the base until it is firmly fastened. 3 25 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 19

17. Fix rail end to return panel lign the holes in the return panel rail mount (10) with the holes in the return panel and wall mount. Ensure that all gaskets and washers are being used (as shown) and fix in place by tightening the two return panel rail mount bolts (22). 22 10 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 20

18. Mount door assembly onto rail D Using a utility knife, cut the door bumper (19) and bumper seal (18) to length and install onto glass. The gasket with the angled lip must be applied to the handle side of the door panel with the flange facing inward. Using a hacksaw, cut the bottom water guard (17) to length so that it fits between the two vertical gaskets. Hang the door assembly on the rail, however do not insert the bottom edge of the glass into the guide block (place a piece of cardboard between the block and the glass panel for protection). With the bottom edge of the door panel exposed, install the bottom water guard so that the flange faces inwards. Do not tilt the glass panel in more than is needed to install the water guard. Lift the door assembly off the rail, and lower again, this time guiding the bottom edge of the door panel into the slot of the guide block. 19 18 17 D D XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 21

19. Install return catching block Place the return catching block (15) on the base and slide it over the edge of the return panel. Mark the hole onto the base using a pen or pencil. Note that two blocks are included with your hardware, a left-hand version and a right-hand version; use the one appropriate to your installation. Remove the block, and drill a hole into the base through the center mark using a 1/8 drill bit. pply a small bead of silicone into the hole, reposition the block, and fasten it to the base using the provided countersunk screw (23). cryline recommends using clear 100% silicone. 15 1/8 23 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 22

20. omplete housing installation Mount the two lower housing covers to the main housing assemblies by sliding them on from the bottom as shown. Hold in place, and install the two screws from the back through the slot in the glass. Ensure that the lower housing cover does not interfere with the rail. Install the two back cover plates as shown. Tighten the setscrews (two per each cover plate) to hold in place. x2 x2 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 23

21. omplete door assembly Install the handle (5) to the door panel so that the set screws are located on the inside of the shower door. Ensure that the hooked end of the handle is pointing upwards. Ensure that the rail bolt is tight, and install the rail mount cap. 5 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 24

22. Install threshold Measure the distance between the guide block and return catching block and take note. dd 1/4 to the dimension from step 20; the total is the length to which you should cut your threshold (13). Slide the cut threshold into the slot of one block and then into the other. pply a few small beads of silicone to the underside of the threshold to hold it in place. 13 + 0.25 = XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 25

23. Install remaining seals Install the wall jamb seal (20). Insert the wedged end in between the fixed panel and the outer edge of the wall jamb. Start at the bottom and work your way up to the top, trimming off any excess with a utility knife. Repeat for the return panel wall jamb. Measure the distance between the top of the guide block and the underside of the housings. ut your vertical water guard (16) to be roughly 1/4 shorter than the measured dimension. Install the guard over the front edge of the fixed panel so that the guard flange is facing inwards (see below). Using a utility knife, trim the bottom end of your door bumper seal flange so that it just clears the top of the return catching block (see below). 20 16 XIS INSTLLTION - ORNER www.acryline.ca 26

24. omplete installation pply silicone along all outside edges of your unit, as shown below. Do not silicone on the inside of your unit. cryline recommends using clear 100% silicone.
