The Saris are designed using traditional Madhubani paintings with contemporary motifs on different base and yarn variation for urban market. The products are showcased in array of exhibitions organized by reputed organizations like Crafts Council, Concern India etc as a part of domestic market. Stoles are exported to US& UK based clients. These training sessions provided design inputs to artisans to develop products catering to the urban markets while retaining the traditional methodology. Marketing- One of the key responsibilities was to create marketing linkages for products developed, ensuring inclusive growth of weavers and artisans. SUTRA - March 2010 to August 2011. Job responsibility: Design Development- Developed new designs in several handloom clusters across the country majorly concentrated in Chanderi (Chanderi ), Maheshwari (Maheshwar), Kantha (West Bengal) Ikkat, Dhokra, Tribal jewelry (Orissa); also developed ranges using Tassar, Noil, Eri, Munga, Linen (Bhagalpur), applique, reverse applique (Barmer).Weaving technique in Pokaran, and Embroidery of Bikaner. Skill Development- Undertaken training programs with craftsmen in Bagh, Bagru, Sanganer, Jodhpur, Bhuj, Kutch. These training sessions provided design inputs to artisans to develop products catering to the urban markets while retaining the traditional methodology. VEEVES - January 2009 to February 2010 Design studio cum retail outlet, showcasing all crafts of India under one roof. Web designing, advertising and Public Relations PROJECTS IL&FS, July 2008 to June2009 Design Consultant for IL&FS project: Development of innovative designs for home furnishings using tassar & cotton yarns. The program was carried out for development of weavers of Bhagalpur, Bihar. JUTE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT RTI Conducted skill development workshop for rural women working with NGO-STRI VIKAS KENDRA at Bhavnagar, Gujarat. This project was a joint effort of NIFT and RTI for development of jute products. GRADUATION PROJECT- October 2007 to March 2008 ECO TASSAR SILK PVT LTD promoted by PRADAN. A twenty week project on Eco friendly products using ahimsa silk yarns dyed with natural dyes. The collection included furnishing items; carpet, rugs, cushions, and a range of stoles and shawls. CAMPUS PLACEMENT Offered position of merchandiser by SHADES OF INDIA through campus placement. SUMMER INTERNSHIP ARVEE DENIMS One month internship with a leading denim manufacturer in Ahemadabad.
