Host Preparation Here are a few tips to help you prepare yourself and your cast for the murder mystery. Read the Guide on How to Host a Host-Party Murder Mystery. This guide will give you all the specifics on preparing for and hosting your party. This guide should have been emailed to you upon purchase. Guest Instructions Before The Party With your invitation, you should receive these instructions and details of the character you are going to play together with your costume ideas and a pre game clue. (This clue helps to set the scene for the evening s events). Follow the costume suggestions but feel free to improvise wherever you prefer. On The Night On arrival at the party you may be given a nametag or label (please be careful with delicate fabrics). The host will then play the MP3 file containing the introduction. Alternatively the guest playing Lily White will make an announcement about what has just happened and the mystery will begin. You will be given your player clues and the events will unfold. On your first slip is some secret information, which you should not reveal unless directly challenged. Your slip will also tell you whether you are the murderer or not. If you are the murderer you may lie as much as you like. If you are not the murderer you must tell the truth. As the evening progresses you will be able to ask and answer questions, read clues and form your opinion as to the identity of the murderer. At the end of all the rounds the host will ask each player to make an accusation, giving reason, motive and method, of who they think is the murderer. After everybody has guessed the host then asks the players to read their solution round slip in strict number order, starting with the lowest number first. Round Instructions INTRODUCTION ROUND 1 TO BE READ BY LILY WHITE IF THE MP3 FILE CANNOT BE PLAYED (Saloon piano music playing in the background) Evenin pardners and all you gals and welcome to Lil s Last Chance Saloon. We are gathered here tonight to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Marshall T Pott becoming our respected Marshall. We have all sorts of music, food, whiskey, gambling and lots of other entertainments for you here tonight so eat, drink and be merry. The Marshall will be down here shortly, he said he had just got some business to attend to in one of the upstairs bedrooms, whatever that may be! Anyway back to the fun. Our show tonight will include a performance by..." (Loud gunshot followed by a crashing sound and a loud thud followed by screams.) Oh no, it s the Marshall and he s been shot off the balcony. He s dead." (Piano plays sad music/dirge.) SHERIFF S REPORT TO BE READ BY LILY WHITE IF THE MP3 FILE CANNOT BE PLAYED In the absence of Marshall T Pott this has been compiled by the Sheriff of Tombstone. The Sheriffs have now undertaken a thorough examination of the crime scene following the terrible murder of Marshall T Pott. It appears that the Marshall was lured to an unused upstairs bedroom; in his pocket; they found a note on pink perfumed Lil s Last Chance Saloon stationery which said, Come upstairs to Room 13 at the Saloon tonight at 8.00 pm and you will have a very unusual surprise. Signed An Admirer. When he opened the door it pulled a piece of string which led to the trigger on a shotgun which was pointing straight at the door. As he pulled open the door the gun fired and killed him, sending him flying back over the balcony on to the gaming tables below.
