GAME MAKER PROGRAMMING Topic: Floppy Cats Part 1 Scene Setup, Sprites, Backgrounds Objective: The students will begin designing and coding a new game. This type of game will be a parody of the flappy bird game. The teacher will introduce the concept of the game. The students will go to the Google shared folder and download all the game resources. We will begin creating the game by setting up the scene, adding the backgrounds, adding the character sprites, and animating the main cat character. Upcoming Events: Floppy Cats Part 2 - Adding the Scrolling Pillars Topic: Floppy Cats Part 2 Adding the Scrolling Pillars Objective: The students will create the top and bottom pillar sprites and objects. They will make them move into the screen infinitely. Collision detection will be setup between the cat and the pillars and between the cat and the ground. If that occurs, the game will restart.
