Gather Phase 1. Players select a Gather Card and may select one Guess Card from their hand if they choose. They set the chosen cards face down on the table. 2. Players reveal their Guess cards simultaneously. If any players played a Wolf card, they choose which location to send them to. Other Guess cards are resolved during the phase as detailed on the card. 3. Players reveal Gather cards and resolve any Guess effects that happen before Gathering. Each player places their pig token in the area where they chose to Gather. 4. Players collect resources. Resources are divided equally among all pigs present in each area, rounded down. Extra resources are left behind for the next Gather Phase. 5. Each player returns their Gather card to their hand, and resolved Guess cards are placed in the discard. Guess Cards Guess Cards give you a bonus if you can correctly guess what the other players will do in the Gather Phase. Guess Cards can give bonus resources, actions, or information. You may play one Guess Card during each Gather phase. Guess Cards are played by placing them face down with the Gather Card. The Wolf The Wolf is a type of Guess Card. Wolf Cards are played and revealed at the same time as regular Guess Cards. Any player who revealed a wolf must select a location to send the wolf. Place the wolf token in that location. After Gather cards are revealed, if the Wolf catches any pigs (is in the same location they are Gathering), all the resources are in that area are returned to the Supply. If there is more than one Wolf, the cards themselves may be used as additional wolf tokens. If two or more wolves are played in the same turn, the pigs choose the locations the wolves will visit in player order. The Big Bad Wolf The Big Bad Wolf is a card in the Friend deck which has it s own rules: The Big Bad Wolf does not count as a Wolf card for other card s special abilities. For example, Little Red Riding Hood s. If the Big Bad Wolf blows down the only finished house of a type, the Innovative Builder Award doesn t happen again. The Big Bad Wolf may cause a player to have two incomplete houses of the same type. The player can choose which to finish first. The Big Bad Wolf Discard this card at the start of your next Gather Phase. Any pig that does not gather with you must destroy a non-brick house section of your choice. 4
Building Rules To build a house section a player must use resources that match the type of house. Each different house section has a cost. Market Phase Beginning with the Starting Pig, each player takes one turn. On your turn you perform two actions. You may perform one action twice or two different actions each turn. You may choose to: Build To build a house section, a player pays the appropriate resources by returning them to the Supply, and adds the house section to their play mat. Draw a Guess Card Take the top card of the Guess deck and add it to your hand. There is no limit to the number of cards you may have in your hand. Gain One Resource Take a resource of your choice from the Supply. There is no limit to the number of resources you may have. Type Cost Bonus Floor 2 Walls 4 Gain a Friend, or make a player discard a Friend. Roof 6 First of a type: Gain one of each resource.* Houses must be built in order: floor, walls, and then roof. You may work on multiple houses at a time, but you may not start a new house if you have an unfinished house of the same type. You may build one house section per action, paying the cost of each house section. There are enough house sections to build four houses of each type. Once these run out, you may not build that house section. You may only start a new house if you have an empty plot. If all four of your plots are full, you may not start a new house. *See the Innovative Builder Award. 5
Friends Friends are characters from other fairy tales who will aid you with special powers. Each time a player builds Walls, a new Fairy tale friend will visit their house. However, a player may have only one friend at a time. A player gains a friend by drawing the top card from the Friend deck and choosing to: Keep the new friend, discarding their previous friend, if they have one. Send the new friend to another player s house. If that player already has a friend, that friend is discarded and replaced by the new friend. Innovative Builder Award When a player completes a house, if it is the first house of that type (Straw, Wood or Brick) that has been built among all players, then the player is awarded one of each resource. This award is only given once for each type of house, even if a house is blown down by the Big Bad Wolf. 6 Clean Up Phase The starting player passes the Starting Pig token to the player on their left. Add five Straw to the Field, four Wood to the Woods, and three Brick to the Brickyard. Ending the game At the end of the Market Phase, if only one player has three houses complete, the game ends, and that player wins the game! If more than one player has three houses complete, the winner is the pig that built the sturdiest houses. Brick Houses are the sturdiest, followed by Wood and then Straw. If two or more pigs are still tied, the final tiebreaker is the number of resources each player has.
Two Player Game In the two player game of Little Pig, Sheriff Oinker is added to the game. Each turn he will visit one of the gather areas and take half of the resources for himself. Choose a color that is not being used by either player for Sheriff Oinker. Set the Gather cards and pig token of that color in between the players. At the start of the Gather phase, randomly choose and reveal a Gather card for Sheriff Oinker. The Sheriff immediately collects half of the resources from the location on that Gather card. Both players then choose Gather (and Guess cards) and reveal them in the normal way. Sheriff Oinker collects resources and heads back to town before the other pig s cards are revealed, and therefore does not affect Guess cards that specify if a pig is alone or with other pigs, and does not get caught by the wolf. All resources collected by Sheriff Oinker are returned to the Supply. 7
