Entries may be presented by a representative. After-Fair Exhibit Pick-Up Entries can be picked up on Sunday, August 13, between 10 and 11 p.m. And on Monday, August 14, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. All Entries are bound by the conditions set forth for the Photography Department and by the Clark County Fair General Rules found on the Fair's website (www.clarkcofair.com). All entries must remain in place for duration of the Clark County Fair. Removal of photos before the specified times may result in the suspension of exhibiting the following year(s). All exhibits will be picked up at the Fairgrounds. Entries will be held for 1 week after the end of the fair. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Please also see the General Rules. 1. This exhibition is open to everyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, is deemed inappropriate for display. 2. Limited to a total of four (4) photographs per entrant. 3. PHOTOGRAPHS HAVE SIZE RESTRICTIONS. See specific class rules. 4. PHOTOGRAPHS MUST BE MOUNTED (using either a dry mount press or spray photo mount adhesive) ON BACKING BOARDS OR FOAM CORE BOARDS. Boards must be same dimensions as the photograph. Each entry must be individually mounted. 5. All entries must be firmly mounted. DO NOT USE a water based glue as it will cause photos to bubble. 6. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITH OVERMATS, WINDOW MATTES, FRAMES OR PLASTIC COVERINGS. DIGITAL BORDERS ARE ALSO NOT ALLOWED. PLEASE MAKE

Page 2 of 5 SURE THE IMAGE SPANS FROM EDGE TO EDGE. 7. Entrants must own the copyright of all images used in any submitted print. The exhibition accepts no liability for any breach of copyright by an entrant. Submission of an entry signifies acceptance of and compliance with all conditions of entry by an entrant. Images produced from materials copyrighted by persons other than the make are unacceptable. 8. Original image statement - Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of object via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. All images must be original and may not incorporate photographic elements produced by anyone else. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright by the entrant. Any modification of the original image must be made by the exhibitor, subject of department restrictions. 9. No writing on the front of the photograph. The following information must be listed ON THE BACK IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE BACKING BOARD and will be done at the TIME OF ENTRY. Tags for this information will be available at the time of exhibit entry: A. Division & Class B. Entrant's Name C. Entry Tag # (assigned at time of entry) D. Entrant's age if under 18 E. Title of exhibit 10. All entries must include entry form. Entry forms are available at the fair web site or at the department during entry times. Fair exhibitor numbers are required by the Photography Department. ENTRY FORMS PRINTED FROM FAIR WEB SITE MUST BE PRESENTED (www.clarkcofair.com). 11. Judging order: An entrant's images will be randomly presented for judging. 12. Entries in the Professional Division will have a $5.00 entry fee per photograph. All entries in that class without appropriate fees will not be judged. Payment may be in cash or checks payable to the Fairground Site Management Group (FSMG). Entry fees are nonrefundable. Closing date is Tuesday, August 1, 2017, 8:00 p.m. 13. Professionals are defined as persons who give lessons, have sold their photographic work(s) or who engage in a photography business for profit. These persons must enter the professional division and if found in the Amateur division, can be disqualified. 14. All photos will be judged on composition, print quality and visual impact. 15. Prints previously accepted by the Clark County Fair are ineligible. 16. No nudes or graphic material will be allowed. 17. All possible care will be taken to protect prints; however, the Fair will not be responsible for loss or damage of any kind.

Page 3 of 5 18. All entries and awards are subject to Fair Managers, Judges and Superintendent's approval. 19. The judges of this photography competition will not be eligible to submit photography into the competition. DIVISIONS DIVISION 1A: YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHER(12 AND UNDER) Photos must be no smaller than 5 x 7 and no larger than 8 x 10 DIVISION 1B: YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHER(13 TO 17) Photos must be no smaller than 5 x 7 and no larger than 8 x 10 DIVISION 2: AMATEUR ADULT PHOTOGRAPHER Photos must be no smaller than 8 x 10 and no larger than 16 x 20 DIVISION 3: PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER Photos must be no smaller than 8 x 10 and no larger than 16 x 20 CLASSES CLASS A: ANIMAL LIFE DOMESTIC AND WILDLIFE Mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, etc. CLASS B: INSECTS Insects CLASS C: PLANT LIFE Flowers, trees, shrubs, fungi, etc. CLASS D: LANDSCAPES/SEASCAPES Mountains, lakes, rivers, ocean views, lighthouses, headlands, etc. CLASS E: SKYSCAPES sunrises, sunsets, stormy skies, cloud formations, rainbows, etc. CLASS F: CITYSCAPES/ARCHITECTURE cities, buildings, bridges, types of architecture, etc. CLASS G: CHILDREN NON-POSED/PHOTO JOURNALISTIC Informal photos of children, candid, capturing the moment, people in their daily activities, etc. CLASS H: PEOPLE NON-POSED/PHOTO JOURNALISTIC Informal photos of people, candid, capturing the moment, people in their daily activities, etc. CLASS I: PORTRAIT POSED Formal photos of people and/or children

Page 4 of 5 CLASS J: HUMOR Photos that are funny because of their composition or the subject matter CLASS K: ACTION SPORTS Sport activities that are organized or unorganized CLASS L: SCENIC/TRAVEL (US) Photos that are from scenic destinations or travel CLASS M: SCENIC/TRAVEL (INTERNATIONAL) CLASS N: GENERAL INTEREST ALL OTHERS Photos that may include elements of several other classes but do not fit into any specific class CLASS O: FAIR PICTURES Photos taken during previous years at the fair CLASS P: DIGITALLY ENHANCED PHOTOS Photos that have been enhanced digitally either through Photoshop or other software programs. This includes isolating colors, compositing images or any other action that changes the original composition of the image. Basic editing including brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness should not be in this class and are considered common. CLASS Q: HIGH-DYNAMIC-RANGE IMAGING(HDRI) This is achieved by a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wide dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight. HISTORICAL PHOTOGRAPHS Historical places, people and events. Photographs must be black and white or sepia color and can not be the original print. Prints made from the originals are required. A brief description of the photograph explaining what is in it must accompany it. A limit of four entries per person and you must own the copyright to the photograph(s). AGRICULTURAL PHOTOGRAPHS Current and historical photographs of agricultural scenes and items such as farm equipment, farm animals, fields, barns, produce, crops and any other element highlighting the different aspects of agriculture. A limit of four entries per person and you must own the copyright to the photograph(s). AWARDS FOR CLASSES: The Grand Sweepstakes ribbon will be awarded to the best entry among all classes. Best of Class ribbons will be awarded to the best entry in each class. First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded based on the judges' scores, commonly known as the Danish system.

Page 5 of 5 OVERALL AWARDS: Three Judges' Choice, Superintendent's Choice, and two People's Choice Awards(1 for each half of the fair). PROFESSIONAL CLASS AWARDS: Three professional photographs will be chosen by the judges and the overall winner will receive 50% of the total jackpot and the remaining two will split the other 50% of the jackpot. JUDGING: Superintendents do not judge the Open Class Photography. Judges and superintendents have the right to place an exhibit in another lot.
