Datasheet Grid eeding monitoring relay according to CEI 0-21 CM-UFD.M32 CM-UFD.M32 is a multiunctional grid eeding monitoring relay. It provides dierent monitoring unctions in accordance with CEI 0-21 ed. June 2012. It detects over- and undervoltage (10 minutes average value, voltage increase and decrease protection) as well as any changes in grid requency (double thresholds, requency increase and decrease protection). The device is connected between the decentralized electrical energy source and the public grid in order to disconnect it, in case o problems, aults or maintenance into the grid. Characteristics - Monitoring o single and three-phase mains or grid eeding - Type-tested in accordance with CEI 0-21 - Over- and undervoltage, 10 minutes average value as well as over- and underrequency monitoring - Two-tier threshold settings or over-/ undervoltage/ -requency - Integrated management o redundancy unction (mandatory in plants with P>20 kw) - Measured values, thresholds and settings shown on the display - All threshold values adjustable as absolute values - Deault setting according to CEI 0-21 - True RMS measuring principle - High measurement accuracy - 3 input contacts or remote trip, eedback signal, and external signal - Tripping delay or each threshold adjustable - Alarm memory or up to 10 entries (incl. cause o alarm, measured value, relative timestamp) - Autotest unction - Password setting protection - 3 c/o (SPDT) contacts - 106.3 mm, 6 modules case or DIN rail - LEDs or the indication o operational states. Grid eeding monitoring relay according to CEI 0-21 Programming mode and use Functions Operating controls A1 A2 A3 A4 Y20 Y21 L1 L2 L3 N Y30 Y31 220V AC 24V AC/DC Y10 Y11 Application The grid eeding monitoring relay (SPI), that monitors network voltage and requency, allows to disconnect distributed generation (GD) whenever the parameters are over the adjusted thresholds. Completely adjustable the CM-UFD.M32 assures the necessary lexibility to integrate medium and small production plants. In conormity to CEI 0-21 Ed. June 2012, the CM-UFD.M32 relay could be used in all the low voltage plants and in medium voltage plants with power less than 30 kw. The relay is mandatory in all low voltage production plants with power > 6 kw or with more than 3 generators (eg. Plants with more than 3 inverters). Operating principle 34 31 32 24 21 22 14 11 12 CM-UFD U F1 F2 Display programming/exit Values increase LEDs status Values decrease Conirm selection Protective unctions I control supply voltage is applied and all phases are present with correct voltage and requency values, output relay 11-12/14 (DDI) energizes and the start-up delay begins. When the delay is complete, output relay 21-22/24 energizes or de-energizes, depending on the coniguration. The green LED U is on. I the measured values exceed or all below the set threshold values, output relay 11-12/14 de-energizes ater the adjusted delay and output relay 21-22/24 energizes or de-energizes, depending on the coniguration, when the adjusted delay is complete. The ault type is indicated by the red LEDs F1 or F2. The threshold value that has caused tripping is shown on the display. As soon as the measured value returns to the tolerance range, taking into account a ixed hysteresis (less than 100 ms as requested by standard CEI 0-21), output relay 11-12/14 re-energizes without delay; output relay 21-22/24 energizes or de-energizes, depending on the coniguration, when the adjusted delay is complete. When output relay 11-12/14 is re-energized the red LEDs F1 or F2 turn o and the ault message on the display disappears. The event that has caused tripping o the relay is recorded in the menu events. Protective unction V>59 S1 med. (10-minutes average value): The relay calculates the sliding root mean square o the voltage value (in case o 3 phase 3 voltage values) over a period o 10 minutes. The voltage values are updated every 3 seconds. I the 10-minutes average value exceeds the threshold value, the output relays trip when the adjusted delay is complete. Remote trip Measurements Trip DDI External signal Local command 2 CM-UFD.M32 - Grid eeding monitoring relay according to CEI 0-21 Data sheet

Event list The relay records and logs the last 10 events that caused tripping o the relay. Relevant inormation is available in the menu Events where the type o event such as protection or auto test are recorded as well as the time passed since the last tripping o the relay in hours, minutes and seconds. I the relay is switched-o and switched-on again, the measured time is reset. Redundancy unction The redundancy relay 31/32-34 (DG) is activated i relay 11/12-14 has de-energized and, within the adjustable time delay, no eedback rom the external contact has been recognized by the internal logic via Y10-Y11. The external contact is connected in series to the coil o the relay itsel, representing the status o the disconnection device. In case a eedback signal is present, the redundancy relay does not trip. Relay 2 (21/22-24) Output relay 2 can be used or the closing command o the breaker motor. In case output relay 11/12-14 energizes the adjustable delay T1 starts. When T1 is complete, output relay 21/22-24 will be activated or the duration o the pulse time T2 or until relay 11/12-14 de-energizes. In this last case T2 is inactive (T2= LOCK). The operating principle o the relay 21/22-24 is conigurable as normally energized (closed-circuit principle) or normally de-energized (open-circuit principle). Local command and external signal The CEI-021 standard deines Restrictive thresholds, the under- and overrequency thresholds S1 (49.5-50.5 Hz), and Permissive thresholds, the under- and overrequency thresholds S2 (47.5-51.5 Hz). Selection o S1 or S2 thresholds is made by the corresponding combination o the external signal and the local command, as shown in this table: External Signal Local Command Frequency Range 0 0 Permissive S2 1 0 Permissive S2 0 1 Permissive S2 1 1 Restrictive S1 Note: In order to activate restrictive thresholds S1 also input Y30-Y31 has to be closed. Grid eeding monitoring relay according to CEI 0-21 Programming mode and use Remote trip The control input Y20-Y21 can be conigured as normally open or normally closed. I normally closed is conigured, the grid eeding monitoring relay trips i Y20-Y21 is opened. I normally open is conigured, the relay trips i Y20-Y21 is closed. Within less than 50 ms ater activation o the remote trip input, output relay 11/12-14 de-energizes, and output relay 21/22-24 energizes or de-energizes, depending on the coniguration. When the remote trip input is deactivated the output relays 11/12-14 and 21/22-24 trip again. Autotest The auto test unction allows the veriication o the protective unctions operability. Selection o the unction to be tested starts the auto test. The display shows the threshold value that increases or decreases until the input voltage or requency value that causes tripping o the output relays is reached. I during the sweep any value o the unction setting range meets the same value o the input quantity supplied to the relay (Voltage or Frequency), the unction under test trips, operates the output relay and the display shows OK : the Autotest has veriied that the relay trips correctly. I during the sweep no value o the unction setting range meets the same value o the input quantity supplied to the relay (Voltage or Frequency), the unction under test does not trip and the display shows KO : the Autotest has veriied that the relay does not trip untimely. This is the case when the value o the input quantity supplied to the relay is the nominal one which, o course, is outside the unctions setting range. To have the unction tripping during the Autotest, the input quantity must be arranged to a value within the unction setting range. The result is stored in the event list.
