No plastic spiral binding By Amazon Customer This edition is not spiral bound as the previous versions were. Change of binding was a big mistake. By Bruce Chojnacki The material in this book is useful and convenient for military staff officers. My complaint would be the binding. They went from a plastic comb binding to a standard paperback binding. The original comb binding was much more useful, allowing you to lay the book flat without it closing. This new binding is awful and makes it impossible to reference the book without you hands while conducting a planning operation.
