How to read this book Thank you downloading this ebook. I hope that the stories and advice you find here enable you to lead a happy, anxiety-free life. This book covers the five different topics that lead me to beating panic attacks; understanding anxiety, managing panic attacks, changing your mindset, changing your diet and changing your lifestyle. Once we get past understanding what causes anxiety the content becomes very practical. It includes examples and exercises you can apply to start reducing anxiety today. This is a relatively short book as I did not feel the need to waffle on, but wanted to provide concise, helpful advice that would really make a difference. I have been sensitive to the fact that most readers will currently be suffering from the effects of anxiety and have sought out this book as an attempt to overcome their current struggle. So you could read this book is one of two ways. You could easily read the book in a small number of hours, skim-reading through the content whilst getting a gist of what I was talking about and then return to read the more helpful sections in more detail. Or you could read it, as I read books, slowly, thoughtfully. I often pause and re-read a paragraph to really let it sink in, I allow time to digest what I've just read. For these readers I have included the small sub-titles within each chapter as an encouragement to pause and reflect on the last section, whilst leaving you an identifier to easily return to. Whichever style you choose I would encourage you to take some time think about how this could apply to your life. I cannot tell you how to change the way you live, but I can share with you the changes I made and the reasons behind them, leaving you to consider how you could adapt your own life. Remember, this is a journey. The content of this book has taken me over ten years to learn, and a further two years to write. Each sub-section was a life-lesson learnt over many months. I hope by sharing these lessons I can speed you through those years and you can follow me as we journey together. Buy me a coffee and I'll tell you a story This book has been priced at the same price as a cup of coffee. I have not written this book to make money, but out of a passion to share what I've learnt that it may help other people. In the modern world that we live in today, there's various ways you may have acquired this book and however you've come across it, I want to welcome you. As you read through the content if you find it engaging and helpful and for whatever reason you have not had to pay for this book, I'd invite you make a donation to Charity:Water (www.charitywater.org). They are a worldwide charity who's mission it is to bring clean and safe drinking water to every person in the world. Their operating costs are covered by private donors so that 100% of the money you donate can go towards funding water projects. Introduction This book is written from my own personal experience of dealing with stress and anxiety as the result of living a busy lifestyle. For me this rose to the level of physical panic attacks where I felt like I was loosing my mind, but if you're lucky it hasn't got that bad for you. Whatever stage you are at you'll benefit from learning the techniques to manage stress, panic and anxiety effectively, leaving you to live a healthy, happy life.
I'll focus on providing you with useful, practical advice, sharing what has worked well for me as well as my downfalls so that you may skip the years it took me to find a way through. Unfortunately there's no magic cure, no switch we can flick to suddenly make things OK, but there is hope. I let my anxiety drive me to a place of real desperation before I finally started to discover my way back, but now I can happily report that I live 'panic-free'. Sometimes you can only really be helped by someone who's been there themselves and come out the other side. My hope it that by sharing my journey you may relate, be strengthened and along the way find sanctuary. Chapter 1: The Problem The first time it's so unexpected. You're probably going about your normal life, doing something you've done so frequently, without ever having a problem before, but not this time. Suddenly you notice your heart rate increasing, you feel it thumping away in your chest, your brain knows something is wrong and you quickly scan around, trying to find the immediate threat your body seems to be aware of, but somehow you haven't seen. Crash! You feel a wave wash over you, from head to toe, arms and legs are feeling stiff and much heavier than normal. Looking at your hands they're wet! dripping with sweat as your body temperature skyrockets and you feel your clothes clinging to your skin. Breathing seems more difficult now, almost like you're suffocating as your vision begins to become impaired. Slightly dizzy, with blotchy vision you feel like you're loosing your grip on reality, and now you're left with just your bare basic survival skills. Your brain has one question should I stay to fight, or should I run? Buy the book I hope you've enjoyed reading this sample. In the following chapters this book explores the root cause of anxiety.
