3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Set the power to OFF. Do not touch the switch when inserting batteries or plugging in or replacing the needle. 2. This is not a toy; keep out of reach of children. Recommended for persons of 14 years and older. 3. Set the switch to OFF after use and remove the batteries or pull out the plug. 4. Do not mix the old batteries with the new ones. 5. Do not dismantle or rebuild the unit. 6. Do not switch on until the fabric has been put on the unit even though the top and bottom threads are ready. 4. BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Easy Stitch operates on 4 AA Batteries (not supplied). 2. Take the battery compartment cover off from the bottom of the unit. 3. Insert the batteries with the + and - correctly aligned. 4. If the adaptor is used, make sure that the poles are correct: (Please Note: Turn the switch OFF when inserting batteries or plugging in to avoid hazards.) 5. Always take care to fit your batteries correctly, observing the plus and minus marks of the battery and product. 6. Always replace a whole set of batteries at one time. Do not mix old with new. 7. Always store unused batteries in their packaging and away from metal objects that may cause a short circuit. 8. Remove dead batteries from product and remove batteries if not using for some time. 9. Always make sure battery compartments are secure. 10. Never dispose of batteries in fire - risk of batteries exploding. 11. Never attempt to recharge normal batteries. 12. Never allow children to play with batteries. 4 - Easy Stitch

5. THREADING Top Threading Instructions: Please refer to diagram A and page 3 for machine parts. Diagram A 1. Run the thread through the first thread guide eye (15) between top thread bobbin (6) and thread clamps (9). 2. The thread should be run between the thread clamps (9) from the top. 3. Run thread through second thread guide eye, situated between the thread clamps (9) and take up lever (12). 4. Run thread through eye on take up lever (12) and through third thread guide eye. 5. Run thread through thread guide eye (15) attached to foot holder pole spring holder (16). 6. Finally run thread through the thread hole (17) from left hand side to right hand side. 7. Place thread under foot towards back of machine ready to sew. 8. The thread should now be positioned as in diagram A. Easy Stitch - 5

5. THREADING (continued) Bottom Threading Instructions: 1. Press shuttle cover button (25) at rear of machine to release the shuttle cover plate (22) and remove the plastic cover plate (22). 2. Release approximately 13 centimetres/4-5 inches of thread from the bobbin. 3. Place the bobbin inside the magnatised compartment with the loose thread sat clockwise (in the number 9 position) towards your body (refer to diagram B). 4. Turn the hand wheel (4) in the direction of the arrow (anti clockwise) until the needle descends into the foot-well. 5. Continue to slowly turn the hand wheel until you notice the thread on the bottom spool run across the bobbin (refer to diagram C). 6. Continue to turn the hand wheel until the needle ascends. You should now be able to notice the bottom thread looped over the top thread (refer to diagram D). 7. Stop turning the hand wheel and carefully pull the threads towards you this will result in the bottom thread coming up through the foot plate (19). Place both top and bottom threads towards the rear of the machine under the foot. Diagram B Diagram C Diagram D Please note: You may need to repeat steps 4-6 a few times to achieve the looping. 6 - Easy Stitch

6. FITTING FABRIC AND SEWING 1. Rotate the hand wheel in the direction shown by the arrow to raise the needle to the highest position. 2. Lift up the foot lever (#14) to raise the feeder foot and put in the fabric. 3. Lower down the foot lever. 4. Rotate the hand wheel two or three times to check the fabric movement and stitching. 5. Turn the switch on and start sewing. 6. High or low speed can be selected by using the speed switch. 7. When sewing is finished turn the power switches off, rotate the hand wheel and lift the needle. Raise the foot lever to remove the fabric and cut the thread. (Please Note: If the fabric is difficult to remove, rotate the hand wheel back and forth and the fabric should then come out easily). Easy Stitch - 7

7. ADJUSTING STITCHING As shown in the diagram below, normal stitching has top and bottom threading. If the bottom threading looks like a straight line, this indicates the top thread is too loose. Please turn the thread clamp clockwise to increase pressure until the stitching returns to normal. However, when the top thread looks like a straight line indicating an over-tight top thread, slowly turn the thread clamp anti clockwise to reduce pressure until the stitching is back to normal. (Please Note: When adjusting the stitching, check whether the top thread has come out. If so, replace back into position). TOP THREAD CLOTH BOTTOM THREAD 8 - Easy Stitch

8. BOBBIN REWINDING 1. The rewind pole (3) is hidden inside the hand wheel (4) and is for bobbin rewinding. 2. Press the pole and rotate it anti clockwise; the pole will spring out automatically. 3. Release the spindle (8). This pulls up out of the top of the unit. 4. Place the full cotton reel onto the spindle (8). 5. Run the thread through the empty bobbin s centre hole from left to right. Then thread one of the holes on the bobbin. 6. Place empty bobbin on the pole (3). Wind thread from full reel around the empty bobbin four to five times in a clockwise direction. 7. Guide thread as per the photograph. 8. Turn power on and start winding. Avoid winding over the bobbins edge. 9. Cut off the thread and take the bobbin off the pole (3). 10. Insert the pole inside the hand wheel (4) and rotate clockwise to hide the pole (3). 11. Push spindle (8) back into the top of the unit. Easy Stitch - 9

9. REPLACING THE NEEDLE 1. Switch off the machine and remove the power lead and batteries. 2. Loosen needle clamp screw (21) and turn anti clockwise. 3. Pull needle (20) downwards to remove. 4. Insert new needle into needle holder pole (13) from the bottom with the flat edge away from you. 5. Replace needle clamp screw (21) back into original position and tighten screw firmly with fingers turning clockwise (make sure this is as tight as possible to avoid any problems when sewing). 10. USING THE FOOT PEDAL Insert the foot pedal into the foot control jack (23). This can be used instead of the power switch (1), allowing you to sew using both hands. Make sure to unplug the switch after use. 10 - Easy Stitch

11. CONNECTING THE ADAPTOR The power supply for the adaptor shall have DC rated output of 6V (rated current of 800MA shown in its voltage shall match the AC voltage). Plug the adaptor into the adaptor s socket and the power will be connected. (Please Note: Before plugging in, make sure to set the switch in the OFF position). 12.TROUBLE SHOOTING Trouble The machine doesn t work when the power is ON Sewing can t be done when the machine is running The machine comes to a sudden stop when sewing is going on What size is the needle?
