Host Preparation Here are a few tips to help you prepare yourself and your cast for the team building mystery. Read the Guide on How to Host a Host-Party Team Building Mystery. Guest Instructions Playing this murder mystery requires no special acting abilities, just a willingness to have fun. The hostparty site gives you all the details you need to prepare for the party including character descriptions of all guests, internal information about your character (do not reveal this to others), and costume/prop recommendations. During the party, each of you will be given clues. The clues provide all the information required to unlock the mystery. Each clue is designated as a clue to be concealed or a clue to be revealed. Conceal clues are generally information about your character that you try to hide (without lying) from the others. Reveal clues are ones that you should share with others in casual conversation. During the party, guests will mingle around asking questions about each other's character and about clues you have received. As the game progresses, you will gather more and more information and at the end of the allotted time you will need to sift through fact and fiction to decide who is the murderer. The characters can be played to suit the comfort zone of each player. If you like the spotlight or enjoy role playing, immerse yourself in your character s persona and live the night as you think they would. You may even decide to exaggerate your character s personality for even more effect. On the other hand, if you prefer to participate in a less theatrical capacity, you may want to sit on the couch and let people come to you, approach each character off to the side or just listen in on other conversations until you get your feet wet and are feeling a bit more comfortable. There are only a few simple rules to follow when playing our games. 1. Stay in Character. (Costumes are highly recommended) 2. Hide/Stretch the truth, but don't lie! 3. Interrogate others. Each game takes approximately 1-1/2 to 3 hrs, depending on the number of people playing. Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 3 of 12

Round 1 - Chapter 1 Round Instructions Hand out to your guests their clue envelopes for Round 1. Five characters also get their COLLECT A BOOKMARK question (and bookmarks) this round. These five characters are: MR. HOLMES PRINCE CHARMING QUEEN GRIMHILDE (IF PLAYING): DOROTHY LADY MACBETH These questions get asked at the END of Round 1. Have MR. HOLMES read out the General Clue and then everyone shares their clues. There is no set order - let the conversation flow naturally! General Clue (Share with all Guests) TO BE READ ALOUD BY MR. HOLMES: As you all know, once our stories were written, we came here to live happily ever after. We will not age or die as long as our stories are told. Goldilocks, however, was unhappy. She didn't want to stay a little girl forever, so our friend Merlin performed a spell which allowed her to age. Unfortunately, this spell also made her mortal. Goldilocks was discovered earlier this morning. Pieces of poison apple were in her bowl of porridge. Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 4 of 12

Round Activity: Collect a Bookmark Objective: To collect as many bookmarks as possible in order to get a Bonus Clue or a prize. Rules: Each character is given a card with a question pertaining to their own particular story. The first person to answer correctly is given a bookmark. At the end of Round 2, everyone counts how many bookmarks they have collected and the winner is the one with the most. This winner is given an extra Bonus Clue (provided in game kit) or a prize. If needed, a TIE BREAKER QUESTION is included in FRIAR TUCK'S BOOKMARK QUESTION included in Round 2. Equipment: 10 Bookmarks. (template provided) Playing Time: 2 or 3 minutes per Round Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 5 of 12

Round 1 Clue for Cinderella Clue to Reveal for Round 1 FEEL FREE TO PUT THIS CLUE INTO YOUR OWN WORDS: I can tell you about Goldilocks. She was a lovely girl who was sick and tired of having to look after three bears all day. She dusted their chairs, made their beds and cooked their porridge. Do you know in all this time, they never made her her OWN chair? She felt very unappreciated. I'd encouraged her to eat more fruit since she was so upset she was neglecting her diet. I'm a good friend - not a murderer. Prince Charming went out last night (I have no idea where he went). I spent the evening up in my Shoe Tower. This clue should be revealed to others. "- Round 1 Clue for Dorothy BOOKMARK QUESTION ASK THIS QUESTION AT THE END OF ROUND 1: (MAKE SURE NO ONE BUT YOU SEES THE ANSWER) "Everyone knows I wear the magic slippers that used to belong to the Wicked Witch of the West. What color are they in my BOOK?" ------ ANSWER: In the book, the Witch's magic slippers are silver. From the book (Chapter 2): "There, indeed, just under the corner of the great beam the house rested on, two feet were sticking out, shod in silver shoes with pointed toes." This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 6 of 12

Round 1 Clue for Dorothy Clue to Reveal for Round 1 PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PUT THIS CLUE INTO YOUR OWN WORDS I attended Mr. Holmes's lecture last night. Afterward, I clicked my heels together three times and went home. It was a dark and stormy night - I didn't go out again. I'm afraid of wind. -------- While I was at the lecture, I didn't see Merlin - but I did see an owl. Was that Merlin? This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 7 of 12

Round 1 Clue for Dr. Watson Clue to Reveal for Round 1 FEEL FREE TO PUT THIS CLUE INTO YOUR OWN WORDS I was, of course, at Mr. Holmes' lecture last evening. He was, as always, a wonder. I did notice that Sleeping Beauty was looking rather pale. Has she been having trouble sleeping again? I know insomnia has been a problem for her in the past. ------- I did want to ask Mr. Holmes a question regarding the lecture after it was over, but he was no where to be found. (IF FRIAR TUCK IS PLAYING) I quite enjoyed the refreshments he provided at Mr. Holmes' lecture, but I didn't see the good Friar himself. Was he there? This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 8 of 12

Round 1 Clue for Friar Tuck Clue to Reveal for Round 1 PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PUT THIS CLUE INTO YOUR OWN WORDS I wasn't at Mr. Holmes' lecture because I feel more at home in the woods than I do indoors. It must be because of all those years living in Sherwood Forest. As I was going through the woods very late last night, I did see an owl flying through the air and then perching on top of Bear Cottage. It might have been clutching something in its claws, but I can't be sure. ------- I had spoken to Goldilocks a few weeks ago about getting her famous oatmeal cookie recipe for my catering business. But when I spoke to her yesterday morning, she said she didn't know what I was talking about. This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Team Building Mystery Games Page 9 of 12
