Lay a book agent who writes to order two copies of the first edi on of Merriam and Webster dic onary and asks to be a Canadian sales agent. Long le er, and it includes R.W.Lay s adver sing card as well. Lovely and rare. (Webster had published dic- onaries in earlier years but when he died in 1840 Merriam bought the rights to republish and printed their revised FIRST EDITION as Merriam Webster in 1847.
