Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees Governor Robert Bentley Board President Current Term: 2011-2019 Dr. Robert J. Bentley ran for Governor to grow the economy and create jobs without increasing taxes or spending. He believes there needs to be more transparency and accountability in Alabama's government. He is a pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-second amendment conservative who believes in smaller and more limited government. Robert is an active member of First Baptist Church (FBC) Tuscaloosa where he serves as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. At FBC Tuscaloosa he has been the Chairman of the Board of Deacons four times and a member of the Youth for Christ Advisory Board, as well as the Family Counseling Advisory Board. Dr. Bentley has also served on the State Advisory Board for Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees for Judson College in Marion, Alabama and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Medical Education Consortium which he helped found. After graduating from Shelby County High School, Robert put himself through college at the University of Alabama. While at UA, he majored in Chemistry and Biology and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in just three years. From an early age, Robert Bentley knew he wanted to become a doctor. After graduating from UA, he began his studies at The University of Alabama School of Medicine. During his first year of medical school, he met Martha Dianne Jones of Montgomery. They were married on July 24, 1965. He graduated with his M. D. in 1968 and began his one year internship at Caraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham. In 1969, during the Vietnam conflict, Bentley joined the United States Air Force where he was commissioned as a captain, and served as a general medical officer. He was stationed at Pope Air Force Base at Fort Bragg where he became hospital commander near the end of his tenure. While in the service as a general medical officer he treated many military dependents, active duty service members, and wounded soldiers. He is a life member of Vietnam Veterans of American and a member of the American Legion. Following his military service, Bentley began his three year residency at the University of Alabama in Dermatology. However he has never forgotten his military background, and while serving in the Alabama House of Representatives, he has sponsored legislation to improve educational benefits for disabled veterans.

Al Thompson Chairman of the Board and Congressional District 1 Occupation: Owner, Thompson Properties Mr. Thompson is a committed public and community servant and has a passion for public education and the development of a skilled workforce to support the development, growth and expansion of Alabama's business and industry sectors. Mr. Thompson is a fifth generation native and resident of Baldwin County and for many years has managed his family's five specialty clothing stores located in Gulf Shores, Spanish Fort, Fairhope, Bay Minette and Atmore. He is also the owner of Thompson Properties in Bay Minette. AL. Mr. Thompson's public service has included his long service as a member of the Baldwin County Judicial Commission and the Bay Minette Planning Commission. In addition, he served four terms on the Baldwin County Board of Equalization. The Thompson family has always taken an interest in and supported public education. Mr. Thompson's parents and siblings arc all products of the Alabama public school system. The Thompson family was instrumental in the establishment of Faulkner State Community College in Baldwin County and also donated the land for the North Baldwin Center for Technology. Ron Fantroy Congressional District 2 Occupation: Plant Manager, Extrusion- Shaw Industries Group, Inc. Mr. Fantroy is the Plant Manager, Extrusion for Shaw Industries Group. Inc., located in Andalusia, Alabama. He began working with Shaw Industries in 1983. He currently serves on the Diversity Council at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College and is a Board Member of the Douglas MacArthur State Technical College Scholarship Foundation. Mr. Fantroy is a 1980 graduate of the University of Montevallo where he received his B.S. in Business Management. Mr. Fantroy also serves on Manufacture Alabama's Board of Directors as Treasurer.

Susan Foy Congressional District 3 Occupation: Director of Marketing, Russell Medical Center Susan Foy currently serves as the Director of Marketing for the Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, Alabama. Prior to serving in this position, Susan served as President and CEO of the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce. Susan received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a focus in Marketing from the University of Alabama. She currently serves on the Business Council of Alabama's Executive Board, Leadership Lake Martin Board of Directors, Alexander City Industrial Development Authority, and as Government Affairs Chairman for the Alexander City Chamber of Commerce. J. Frank Caldwell Congressional District 4 Mr. Caldwell has a total of 41 years of experience in the nursing home industry. He is a member of the Alabama State Republican Executive Committee. Occupation: President (retired), Ridgewood Healthcare Center Crystal Brown Congressional District 5 Occupation: Director of Business Development, Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce Ms. Brown is the Director of Business Development for the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama and the Community Free Clinic of Decatur-Morgan County and as a volunteer for Decatur City Schools. She has actively served on boards for the American Heart Association, the Volunteer Center of Morgan County, Parents and Children Together and as chairman of the board for the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Brown is a 1985 graduate of the University of Alabama and a 2015 graduate of Leadership Alabama. Ms. Brown resides in Decatur.

Milton A. Davis, P.E. Congressional District 6 Occupation: Director, Industrial Business Development, BL Harbert International, LLC. Milton is the Director of Industrial Business Development for BL Harbert International. His current responsibilities include market analysis, sales, strategic planning, client presentations, risk analysis, and contract negotiations. Milton graduated from The University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Later, he earned an MBA from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and also completed the construction management program at Texas A&M University. Throughout his career, Milton, a registered Professional Engineer, has received several honors and awards including UA College of Engineering Fellow, UA Centennial Fellow Chemical and Biological Engineering, Distinguished Engineering Fellow of the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department and was an Engineer of the Year by the National Society of Black Engineers, earlier in his career. He is on The University of Alabama's Engineering Leadership Board, former National Chair of the UA Capstone Engineering Society Board, National Vice-Chair of UA's Chemical and Biological Engineering Advisory Board, and member of Tuskegee University Construction Science and Management Industry Advisory Board. He is also co-chair of the Economic Development Committee of Manufacture Alabama, former board member of St. Vincent's Foundation, board member of Better Basics, board member for the Birmingham Urban League, and an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he is a catechist and lector. Chuck Smith Congressional District 7 Occupation: Human Resources Manager, RockTenn Paper and Forest Products (retired) Chuck Smith is the former Human Resources Executive at RockTenn. Corp. Mr. Smith is an experienced executive in the pulp and paper industry and has made his home in Demopolis. AL for many years. Mr. Smith has held various HR leadership roles in the industry. Mr. Smith has worked diligently with the local city officials and community college leadership to promote and secure important technical and career training programs to the black belt. Through his work and support, Mr. Smith has supported public education and he has been recognized for his fund raising and contributions to the local dual enrollment program in Demopolis. Through his support for the career technical and academic programs of the community schools in his area, Mr. Smith has a demonstrated commitment and loyalty to provide students with greater employment opportunities through education and training programs that are relevant to today's work force.

Blake McAnally Member-At-Large Occupation: Owner/President, Pugh Wright McAnally, Inc. Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Mr. McAnally became the third owner and president of Pugh Wright McAnally (then Pugh, Wright and Associates, Inc.) in May 2004. He currently oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm, including serving as a primary contact for all customers. His design work includes civil engineering for site grading and drainage plans, storm water management plans, roads, utility systems, and commercial development. Mr. McAnally is also actively involved in the project management, scheduling, and verification of the execution of project requirements for the firm's various projects. Prior to becoming president of the firm, Mr. McAnally worked with the firm for four and a half years as a project engineer. Additionally, he has more than 14 years of experience with a national multi-discipline engineering and environmental firm. Mr. McAnally earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Mary Scott Hunter Exofficio Member Representing the State Board of Education Occupation: Corporate Advisor for Compliance, Ethics, & Risk Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation Mary Scott Hunter grew up on the Alabama Gulf Coast. She graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1995 (Majoring in Humanities and Minoring in German) and went on to The University of Alabama School of Law. After graduating from law school in 1998, Mary Scott was commissioned as a United States Air Force Lieutenant. She served ten years as an Air Force Judge Advocate General. As a military attorney she first served in the active duty Air Force, then in the Reserves, and finally in the Alabama Air National Guard - attaining the rank of Major. Her assignments included two overseas tours to Korea and Germany and a wartime deployment to Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait in 2001. Her military awards include: Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, and a Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Mary Scott and her husband, Jon, brought their family back to Alabama in 2006 after serving out their last active duty Air Force assignment in Germany. Jon and Mary Scott jointly own a small technology company, Torel Technology, LLC. Mary Scott was in the private practice of law for five years with the Elder Law Firm and then with Siniard, Timberlake, & League. She joined Intuitive Research and Technology Company in 2012 where she advises and leads the company s business interests in Compliance, Ethics, and Risk. Mary Scott was elected to the Alabama State Board of Education in 2010 and reelected in 2014.
