CAMILLA FOR AUSTRAL BRICKS

YOU CAN HAVE ANY COLOUR YOU LIKE, SO LONG AS IT S NOT BROWN. - CAMILLA FRANKS

WELCOME TO A NEW WAY TO EXPRESS YOURSELF. WELCOME TO THE REDEFINITION OF BRICK.

I ve spent the last year working with Austral Bricks to create this collection hope you love it just as much as we do. Think you ve seen it all when it comes to brick? Think again! Camilla

YOU ARE WHERE YOU LIVE. Self-expression doesn t end with the clothes you wear or the car you drive. The place you choose to call home says a lot about who you are. So the materials you use when you build or renovate are an important choice. A house has to last, of course, which is why brick has been a favourite in Australia for hundreds of years and around the world for thousands. If long life was all that mattered, though, we d only make one style of brick. But we don t. We make hundreds. Hundreds of colour, finish and shape combinations, with more added every year. And this year, we re thrilled to announce a unique collaboration aimed to give fashion-conscious Australian homeowners a whole new way to make their mark: Camilla for Austral Bricks.

A LEGEND IN DESIGN. From a simple kaftan ten years ago, Camilla Franks has grown a worldwide fashion brand, and her designs are now sought after by celebrities from Lily Allen to Oprah Winfrey. Colourful graphic prints are at the heart of her creations and while her business is proudly based in Australia, she constantly travels the world for ideas and inspiration for her collections, including her latest: Camilla for Austral Bricks.

GET REAL. CHOOSE BRICK. There are plenty of materials to choose from when you re building or finishing a home. So what makes Austral Bricks a natural fit? It s pretty simple, really. We start with the earth beneath our feet. Austral Bricks are made from the best quality Australian clay, taken from the earth at each of our brickworks around the country, pressed into shape and baked at thousands of degrees to give them their lasting strength. And even though we use some of the most advanced techniques in the world to make our bricks, we make sure they lose none of the subtle variations that show that bricks are made, not manufactured. Subtly, every brick is different. And that s how we like it.

COLOUR ME BRICK. There was a time when brick meant brown. Not any more. Vivid red. Dazzling silver. Charcoal black. (And yes, even brown.) If you can imagine it, chances are one of our hundreds of brick choices can make it come true. Our latest collaboration pushes our colour range even further. Camilla Franks worked side by side with our technicians to redefine what a brick could look like. It s been a long and challenging process. But we think you ll like the result.

A NATURAL COLLABORATION. For Austral Bricks, making great looking bricks always begins with choosing the very best Australia has to offer. For this collection we chose one of Australia s best designers: fashion legend Camilla Franks. Why would a brick company collaborate with a designer best known for her clothing? We wanted to challenge the way people look at brick. We wanted to show that as in fashion, the limitations of brick aren t about the material, but about how far you re prepared to let your imagination fly. So we approached a designer whose imagination and creativity have seen her designs worn by adoring fans all over Australia and around the world.

THE COLLECTION. For this first collection, Camilla drew inspiration from a country that s been building homes with clay and brick for thousands of years: Mexico. Mexico is all about contrasts. Mexico City is one of the world s largest, but alongside the noise and energy you have a civilization that goes back millennia. Colonial architecture, stunning Aztec temples and pyramids and the unforgettable colour and imagery of legendary artist Frida Kahlo all made their way into the 5 colours that make up the first collection by Camilla for Austral.

AZURE Used inside or outside, this vivid blue brick will bring an unmissable splash of colour to your home. Vivid blue is everywhere in Mexico. In ancient and colonial buildings, as well as in the paintings of Frida Kahlo. It somehow manages to sooth and excite at the same time.

SOL This brick would look stunning as an outdoor feature wall and its glossy finish will look great even on a grey day. Mexico is all about the sun. The Aztecs worshipped it, Mexican architecture is driven by it and it s the inspiration for the brightest brick in the range.

AUBERGINE This brick would look fantastic as a feature wall in a kitchen, or could even be used to create a soothing, sensuous ensuite bathroom. There s something sensuous about purple whether it s a splash of paint on a cantina wall or the sun setting over the Pacific. This brick is all about that feeling.

FLAME Contrast this brick with a charcoal grey or black to bring a wall to life or if you re brave try it as a head-turning feature wall. This fiery ORANGE reminds me of the colours of the markets in Mexico City and Oaxaca. Fresh flowers, hot chillies, red feels like it s moving even when it s standing still.

ROSADO Like any bricks in the Camilla for Austral range, Rosado is equally suited to use as an accent alongside any one of our hundreds of colours and textures or on its own as a bold feature wall. In Mexico it seems to be easy to find a reason to celebrate! This VIBRANT pink brick feels like it s ready to party.

SEE IT FOR YOURSELF Photography can only go so far. Like Camilla s wearable fashion, the best way to experience her brick range is in person. To find a stockist near you, go to www.australbricks.com.au

I ve loved the experience of working in a totally new medium, and pushing the team at Austral Bricks to bring my vision for the range to life. But what we ve done is only the first step I can t wait to see how you use our bricks to bring your own creative vision to life. Go wild! Camilla
