valon uilt 1 Page 2 Sewing Instructions 1. Sew (1) 2 x 7 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) 7 ½ Fabric block. Sew (1) 2 x 10 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric block. Trim the block to measure 9 ½ square to make (1) block (Fig. 1). epeat to make (12) blocks total. Fig. 1 trim to measure 9 ½ x 9 ½ after the borders are added 2. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 9 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) block. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 11 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the block to make (1) block (Fig. 2). epeat to make (12) blocks total. 6. Sew (1) 2 Fabric C square, (1) 2 x 3 ¼ Fabric N strip, (1) 2 x 3 ¼ Fabric M strip, (1) 2 x 3 ¼ Fabric E strip, (1) 2 x 3 ¼ Fabric L strip and (1) 2 Fabric C square together end to end and in that order to make (1) NL strip. epeat to make (12) NL strips total. 7. Sew (1) PG strip to the left side of (1) block. Sew (1) HK strip to the right side of the block. Sew (1) DG strip to the top of the block. Sew (1) 3 ½ x 59 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 3 ½ x 50 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of quilt top. 11. Sew (1) 2 x 65 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2 x 53 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 12. Layer and quilt as desired. 13. Sew the (7) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 14. ind as desired.
