2 Make sure weapon is pointed in a safe direction, unloaded, and on safe.
3 Remove lower receiver by pressing take down pin from left to right and slide receiver froward towards muzzle and lift to remove.
4 T O O L S N E E D E D 2 3 Use eye glasses screw driver to remove the threaded roll pin from the right side of the Receiver. Use a small flat head screw driver to pry up the plastic OEM selector switch. Remove selector switch from the assembly.
5 2 3 Press selector drum from right to left, you will feel the selector drum pop over the safety detent. Remove selector assembly from the left side of the trigger module.
6 T O O L S N E E D E D 2 3 Once Selector is removed, place thumb on hammer, squeeze trigger, and ride hammer forward. Use curved needle nose pliers to grab ahold of the front of the hammer spring guide, compress and pivot up and away from hammer and remove.
7 T O O L S N E E D E D Use needle nose pliers to remove safety detent and spring.
8 Kit Includes: Safety Drum 2x safety lever springs and retention studs 2x selector levers Lever install and removal tool Replacement safety detent spring T O O L S N E E D E D 2 3 45 Degree detents 90 Degree detents Installing Handl Defense Safety Selector Determining whether you want a 45 or 90 degree selector options: -45 Degree: Detent index marks are closely positioned together. -90 Degree: Detent index marks appear to be a single point that is visible from the 2 oclock position Desired position will need to face down when installed. It is recommended that a lever to be installed at this point to maintain orientation.
9 T O O L S N E E D E D 2 3 Insert small supplied spring and retention stud into the end of the selector cam opposite from the detent notches. Select desired lever and slide dove tail onto the corresponding interface on the selector. Use supplied L shaped tool to depress detent allowing the lever to continue sliding on the dovetail until you hear the retention stud pop into place. Be sure to visually verify detent is engaged by viewing the silver detent thought the hole in the center of the round portion of the lever.
0 T O O L S N E E D E D Install safety detent and spring. Use supplied safety detent spring. Do not use OEM detent spring.
Apply downward pressure. Insert selector cam into receiver from left to right. Be sure the extended tab of the selector lever is facing to the rear. Apply downward pressure on the safety cam while pressing left to right. You might need to rotate the cam back and forth while doing so. This will allow the cam to fully seat. When fully seated, cam should rotate freely with positive engagement of the detent in the necessary fire positions and main body of cam should be flush with the outside of the receiver on the right side.
2 2 3 Insert small supplied spring and retention stud into the end of the selector cam opposite from the detent notches. Use supplied L shaped tool to depress retention stud allowing the lever to continue sliding on the dovetail until you hear the retention stud pop into place. Be sure to visually verify detent is engaged by viewing the silver retention stud through the hole in the center of the round portion of the lever.
3 T O O L S N E E D E D 2 3 To re-install the hammer spring, be sure hammer is in the up position. Use curved needle nose pliers to grab the pronged end of the hammer spring guide rod. Insert into large side of the hammer spring support pin. Compress spring and pivot 45 degrees downward allowing U shaped end of the hammer spring guide rod to interface on hammer. Be sure to function test to ensure proper function.
4 Your installation is now complete. Be sure to function test weapon and trigger mechanism. Be sure that the desired 45 or 90 degree option has been properly selected. Re-install trigger module onto weapon by reversing steps 2 through 3.
