ADEPTICON 2017 WARHAMMER: AGE OF SIGMAR CHAMPIONSHIP Welcome to the AdeptiCon 2017 Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Championship. A few things to keep in mind: Be sure to set your army out for display. You put a ton of effort into your army, and it is time to show it off! Please note the order of the sheets in your packet. The Scoring Sheet for Game One is on the last page in the packet. After filling out each game s scoring sheet, please turn it into the scoring judge. Questions on Scenarios or Rules should be referred to a Tournament Judge. We will do our best to make this a fun and enjoyable tournament. Table Assignments and Top Scoring lists will be available as soon as possible. Be aware of the Time Restrictions and keep an eye on the Countdown timers. We are striving to have you complete your games. Good Luck and Have Fun! - The AdeptiCon 2017 Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Championship Staff WARHAMMER: Age of SigMAR CHAMPIONSHIP RULES RECAP Each army will be comprised of up to 2000 points using the 2016 General s Handbook, following army composition for a Battlehost in Pitched Battles (pages 106-108). Compendium entries can be used. New rules and units that are released by February 23rd, 2017 will be allowed in this event. Any new rules or units released after this date WILL NOT be allowed in this event. Disciples of Tzeentch and Forge World units/rules will be allowed in this event. Each player must bring seven (7) copies of their army lists to the event (one to turn in at registration, one for each of their opponents, and one for themselves). If units and models have choices of what they can be armed with, this must be clearly indicated on your army list and modeled appropriately. This also applies to choice of Standards for Standard Bearers, instruments for Musicians, and special equipment for your unit s Leaders. You may have 1 of each type of command model per unit (champion/leader, standard bearer, & musician). The most recent version of a Warscroll is expected to be used (i.e., using the rules for a Terrorgheist in Battletome: Flesh Eater Courts vs. Grand Alliance: Death). See the AoS app for the most recent versions of Warscrolls. Order Armies can only have 1 model equipped with Ghal Maraz. Chaos Armies can only have 1 Warscroll with the Archaon Keyword. Characters and units cannot be part of multiple Battalions. The only exception is Battalions that are comprised of multiple Battalions (Sylvaneth Wargroves for instance). Bases cannot overlap for purposes of piling in and making attacks. Attacks are measured from base to base from the attacking model to the target. Base sizes for models should be within reason, but no smaller than the bases the models were supplied with. Command Traits & Artefacts, as well as Battletome specific spells/prayers, must be chosen when you turn in your list for the tournament. These will not change throughout the course of the tournament. However, you cannot duplicate Artefacts. Each player will also need to bring two objective markers on 25 or 32mm round bases for use throughout the event. A unit with no more than 20 Wounds worth of models and a single model with the Hero keyword may garrison a building. Behemoths cannot garrison buildings. If at any time you or your opponent has no models left on the table with no additional units to set up after the game begins, the game is over immediately. Any Sylvaneth Wyldwoods must be included on your army list, including any you will be summoning. These must be the same size footprint as the Sylvaneth Wyldwood kit. SCORING The event will be scoring on a weighted scale to determine the overall winner, with the final score being weighted as follows: Battle & Objective 60% 20% Appearance 20% Best Overall: Highest overall weighted score, 1st tiebreaker raw Battle Points, 2nd tiebreaker raw Points Best General (1 for each Grand Alliance): Highest overall Battle & Objective Points, 1st tiebreaker raw Points, 2nd tiebreaker raw Objective Points Best Sportsman: Highest overall Points, 1st tiebreaker Best Sports Votes, 2nd tiebreaker raw Battle Points Best Appearance: Highest overall Appearance Points & judged score

SUMMONING POOL Summoning Pool: If your army intends to summon models in games, please indicate on your roster how many Reinforcement Points you intend to use each game on your army list. This is the maximum amount of points worth of models you can summon throughout the game as normal. To determine the pool of models from which you can summon up to your Reinforcement Points limit, take your declared amount of Reinforcement Points and add it to 800. This will form the pool of models from which you can summon throughout the game. All eligible Wizards in your army know the summoning spells to summon the units in your summoning pool. You must also declare the models & quantity in a summoning pool entry. An example is provided below: Summoning Pool 1160 (360+800) 6 Carrion 160 20 Skeleton Archers 200 10 Skeleton Horsemen 200 10 Skeleton Horse Archers 280 30 Skeleton Warriors w/ Ancient Blades & Tomb Shields 240 Tomb Scorpion 80 In this example, this army cannot summon more than 360 points worth of additional models during the course of the game. If your army summons via special rules or as the result of non-summoning spells (i.e., Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord s spell Bolt of Change), you still need to set aside points for the models they may or may not summon if you intend to use them. EVENT FAQ Brayherd: The Bray-Shaman s spell Savage Dominion cannot summon monsters whose Warscroll contains the Hero keyword. Collegiate Arcanum: Battlemages must declare which Lore they are taking on their army list (i.e., Collegiate Aranum Battlemage Bright). Everchosen: Varanguard: The special abilities that this unit gains from having Archaon in the army applies to both Archaon, the Everchosen and Archaon, Exalted Grand Marshall of the Apocalypse. Remember armies cannot have both versions of Archaon in the same list. Seraphon: Lord Kroak can cast Deliverance of Itza multiple times as detailed in his Warscroll entry. This will override the GW FAQ. Scenery: The Balewind Vortex will not be eligible for use during the event. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES At the start of each game, before determining territories, you will choose which Secondary Objective you will use for that game. Write that chosen Secondary Objective on the Battleplan Sheet. Remember, you can only use each Secondary Objective one once! USED? # SECONDARY OBJECTIVE 1 The Head of the Serpent You score this secondary objective if your opponent s General is slain by the end of the game. 2 Seizing Territories You score this secondary objective if you have at least 2 units without the Leader, Artillery, and/or Behemoth Battlefield Role in your opponent s Territory at the end of the fourth battle round or the end of the game, whichever comes first. 3 Body Count Rising You score this secondary objective if you have destroyed more than half of your opponent s models and/or cause to lose them through Battleshock. Only count the models on the table at the start of the game to determine the percentage. If your opponent deploys 0 models on the table, then this is automatically achieved. 4 Restoring Balance You score this secondary objective if you destroy or cause to flee through Battleshock more models/units with any of the following keywords (Priest, Wizard, Totem, & Monster) and/or unit standard from your opponent s army than they destroy or cause to flee through Battleshock from your army by the end of the game. In case of units with the Wizard/Monster keyword, the whole unit must be destroyed. 5 Man on Fire You score this secondary objective if your General causes more unsaved Wounds to your opponent s army than your opponent s General does to your army at the end of the game. 6 Protection Detail You score this secondary objective if your General is still alive and on the table at the end of the game. 7 Spearhead You score this secondary objective if one of your units is within 6 of the enemy long table edge at the end of any turn and remove it from the table for the rest of the game. This unit must be on the table at the start of the game and cannot leave the table (including burying & teleporting) during the course of the game.

BATTLEPLAN 1: WAR FOR TERRITORY *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP *** SET-UP Choose Secondary Objective. Both players roll a dice, re-rolling in the case of a tie, and the player that rolls higher decides which territory each side will use. The territories are determined by a diagonal line from opposite corners. Before deployment, each player will alternate placing their Objective Markers on terrain pieces (including hills) in their opponent s territory, starting with the player that did not determine territories. The players then alternate setting up units from their army, starting with the player that determined territories. Models must be set up in their own territory, more than 12 from enemy territory. The player that finishes setting up first can choose who has the first turn in the first battle round. TRIUMPHS If one player has more points left-over than their opponent, then they can roll on the Pitched Battle triumph table of the General s Handbook (page 109) after both armies have been set up. Triumphs must be declared to be used before making any attacks or taking any save rolls for that unit. VICTORY The battle is fought to control the terrain features marked by your army s objective markers (not your opponent s marked terrain features). You control a terrain feature if, at the end of any turn, you have a unit within 3 of or within the terrain feature that has at least 5 Wounds remaining that does not have the Hero keyword. Score 1 game point for each of your marked terrain features that you control at the end of any turn. Score 2 game points instead if the closest or largest unit that controls it has the Battleline battlefield role. Units cannot control more than one terrain feature at a time. The player that scores the most game points at the end of the fifth battle round or when time is called wins a major victory, and their opponent will score a major loss. In the event of a tie in game points, add up the points value of any enemy units that have been destroyed during the battle (including any summoned units). If one player has a higher total, they win a minor victory and their opponent will score a minor loss. If players are tied on points destroyed at the end of the game, the result is a tie assuming no one earned a victory. GAME POINT TRACKER 1 2 3 4 5 Secondary Objective: Before the game begins (including determining territories), choose which Secondary Objective you will use for this game. Write that chosen Objective here (keep in mind, you can only use each one once): # SECONDARY OBJECTIVE Tertiary Objective: Score this if at the end of the game you have a unit of at least 5 remaining Wounds completely at least 12 into enemy territory directly away from the center line. Score the higher level if that unit has the Battleline battlefield role.

BATTLEPLAN 2: BENEATH THE STORM *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP *** SET-UP Choose Secondary Objective. Both players roll a dice, re-rolling in the case of a tie, and the player that rolls higher decides which territory each side will use. The territories for the two armies are shown on the map on page 111, including placing the objective markers. BENEATH THE STORM At the start of each battle round, but after determining who goes first in that round, the player who goes first rolls a D6 and consults the chart below. If one player controls more objective markers than the other, then they can modify the result by the difference in either direction on the chart. VICTORY This battle is fought to control four objectives. Follow the rules for controlling the objectives and the victory conditions under VICTORY on page 111 of the General s Handbook. If one player scores a major victory, their opponent scores a major loss. If one player scores a minor victory, their opponent scores a minor loss. If players are tied on points destroyed at the end of the game, the result is a tie assuming no one earned a victory. Secondary Objective: Before the game begins (including determining territories), choose which Secondary Objective you will use for this game. Write that chosen Objective here (keep in mind, you can only use each one once): # SECONDARY OBJECTIVE Tertiary Objective: Score this if you control at least 1 objective marker at the end of the game. Score the higher level if you control at least 2 objective markers at the end of the game. D6 Beneath the Storm Result 1 High Winds: All attacks in the Shooting Phase suffer a -1 penalty to their To Hit rolls until the start of the next battle round. This is cumulative with other penalties or bonuses. Shooting that does not require a To Hit roll can only fire on a roll of a 4+. 2 Downpour: All Run and Charge rolls suffer a -1 penalty to the distance rolled. 3 Biting Chill: All units suffer a -1 penalty to their Bravery until the start of the next battle round. If their Bravery is 10 or higher, they instead suffer a -2 penalty. 4 Darkness: All distances of all Command Abilities, Battle Traits, Spells, Prayers, abilities, and Shooting attacks are shortened by half the distance. 5 Hailstorm: Roll a die for each unit on the table. On a roll of a 6, the unit suffers a Mortal Wound 6 Lightning Strike: Roll a die for each unit on the table. On a roll of a 6, the unit suffers D3 Mortal Wounds.

BATTLEPLAN 3: LET THE SKY FALL *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP *** SET-UP Choose Secondary Objective. Both players roll a dice, re-rolling in the case of a tie, and the player that rolls higher decides which territory each side will use. The territories will follow the map from the Pitched Battle: Gifts from the Heavens on page 115 of the General s Handbook. VICTORY At the end of each of your turns, you score a number of game points equal to the number of the current round for each meteor you control. For example, if you control 1 fallen meteor at the end of your turn in the third battle round, you would score 3 game points. GAME POINT TRACKER 1 2 3 4 5 The players then alternate setting up units from their army, starting with the player that determined territories. WHEN THE SKY FALLS Follow the Battleplan rules on page 115 for The Meteor Strike. Use your objective markers to mark the locations of the meteors. In addition, each player rolls a die in their third hero phase, and an additional meteor will fall in a random board section of the table, including in your opponent s territory, not already containing a meteor. These new meteors do not contribute to the Victory conditions below, but will instead apply to the Tertiary Objective only. Secondary Objective: Before the game begins (including determining territories), choose which Secondary Objective you will use for this game. Write that chosen Objective here (keep in mind, you can only use each one once): # SECONDARY OBJECTIVE Tertiary Objective: Score this if at the end of the game you control your second meteor as described in The Meteor Strike. Score the higher level if you control both your second meteor and your opponent s second meteor as described in The Meteor Strike at the end of the game.

BATTLEPLAN 4: BLOOD & GLORY *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP *** SET-UP Choose Secondary Objective. Both players roll a dice, re-rolling in the case of a tie, and the player that rolls higher decides which territory each side will use. The territories for the two armies are shown on the map on page 111. VICTORY This battle is fought to control 4 objectives. The objectives are located at the center of each quarter of the battlefield, as shown on the map on page 111. Use your objective markers to mark the locations in your territory. A player controls an objective if, at the end of any tern, they have more models from their army within 6 of the objective than there are enemy models within 6 of the objective. The objective remains under the player s control until the enemy is able to gain control of it (by having more models within 6 of it at the end of a turn), even if the capturing models later move away. Starting from the 3rd battle round, one player immediately wins a major victory if they control of all four objectives and their opponent scores a major loss. If neither has won by the end of the 5th battle round, or when time expires, the player that controls the majority of the objectives wins a minor victory. If both players control the same number of objectives, each must add up the points value of any enemy units that have been destroyed during the battle (including any summoned units). If one player has a higher total, they win a minor victory and their opponent scores a minor loss. If players are tied on points destroyed at the end of the game, the result is a tie assuming no one earned a victory. Secondary Objective: Before the game begins (including determining territories), choose which Secondary Objective you will use for this game. Write that chosen Objective here (keep in mind, you can only use each one once): # SECONDARY OBJECTIVE Tertiary Objective: Score this if at the end of the game if you have control of at least one of your opponent s objective markers. Score the higher level if at the end of the game if you have control of at least one of your opponent s objective markers and at least one of your own.

BATTLEPLAN 5: ALL THAT GLITTERS *** READ THE ENTIRE SCENARIO BEFORE SETTING UP *** SET-UP Choose Secondary Objective. Both players roll a dice, re-rolling in the case of a tie, and the player that rolls higher decides which territory each side will use. Territories are determined by a diagonal line from two opposite corners. After determining territories, each player will place one of their objective markers on the line dividing territories 26 away from the corner on their right hand side. A third objective marker (from either player) will be placed in the direct center of the board. VICTORY Starting at the beginning of the second Battle Round, units of 5 or more remaining Wounds (starting value at the start of the player turn is used to determine this) can end a noncharge, non-run, or pile-in move in base contact with an objective marker to pick it up. This marker will now travel with the unit carrying it; however the unit cannot run, charge, or pile in while they have a marker and cannot move more than 8 total in a player turn for any reason, and cannot be removed from the table (such as Chameleon Skinks). If a unit carrying a marker loses any models due to Battleshock or is destroyed, place the marker they were carrying 5 towards the corner completely in their opponent s territory. If this places the marker on an eligible unit, that unit can claim the marker. At the end of each Battle Round, each player will score a number of game points equal to the Battle Round for each objective marker they control. The player that scores the most game points at the end of the fifth battle round or when time is called wins a major victory and their opponent will score a major loss. Write that chosen Objective here (keep in mind, you can only use each one once): # SECONDARY OBJECTIVE Tertiary Objective: Score this at the end of the game if you control at least one objective marker at the end of the game. Score the higher level if that unit has the Battleline battlefield role.
