Speaker Biographies David Abramson: Managing Editor, Bank Credit Analyst Research Group David Abramson has been with the Bank Credit Analyst Research Group (wwwbcaresearch (www.bcaresearch.com) com) since 1987. He originatedandis and is the ManagingEditor of the firm s Commodity and Energy service. Before that, he ran the China Investment Strategy service. From 2000 to mid 2005, he originated and managed a European institutional service. For most of the 1990s, he was Managing Editor of the ForexCast, the currency advisory service of the Group, and also frequently contributed to the emerging market asset allocation service. David also is a lecturer in MBA International Finance at McGill University and sits on the Client Committee for the Concordia University Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management Program. Prior to joining BCA, David worked in the international department of the Bank of Canada for three years modeling exchange rate and trade flows. He holds an MBA and MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago, as well as a MA degreein Economics from Carleton University. Eric Boyce, CFA: Hester Capital PM. Master of Ceremonies Mr. Boyce brings extensive experience in the financial industry to his position as Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining HCM, he was Executive Vice President at Austin based Penn Investment Group, where he also served as Research Director. Previously, Mr. Boyce served as Vice President and equity analyst at Dallas based Baldwin Anthony & McIntyre Securities, as interim Research Director for First Financial Securities, and as Vice President and Research Director for Dallas based First Dallas Holdings and the Hodges Mutual Fund. Prior to entering the securities industry, Mr. Boyce served as Assistant Vice President and Treasury Product Manager at NationsBank in Dallas and as an information systems manager within the Industrial division of Grubb & Ellis. Mr. Boyce is past Board chairman for Austin based LifeWorks, Past President of the Austin CFA Society, and Past President of the Home & School Association for St. Louis Catholic School in Austin. Mr. Boyce also volunteers for a Hearing Panel Pool in support of the CFA Institute's Disciplinary Review Committee. A Dallas native Mr Boyce earned his BBA in finance from the University of Texas at A Dallas native, Mr. Boyce earned his BBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and his graduate degree in finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. He received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2001 and Chartered Investment Counselor designation in 2004 from the Investment Adviser Association.
Jon Najarian: Co Founder of OptionMONSTER, Hedge Fund manager, CNBC Contributor and panelist on Fast Money Mr. Najarian is a Hedge Fund Manager, noted media analyst and speaker, and cofounder of optionmonster. Following a brief stint as a Chicago Bears linebacker, Jon launched his financial career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) in 1981, tradingin the pits for some 25 years. In 1989 he founded Mercury Trading, running the company for 15 years until 2004, when he sold his floor trading operations to Citadel, one of the world's largest hedge funds. Moderator Michael Santoli is an Associate Editor for Barron's, The Dow Jones Business and Financial Weekly. Mr. Santoli is a regular on air contributor to several cable and broadcast networks. Prior to assuming his current position in November 2006, Mr. Santoli had been a senior editor for Barron s since May 2002, writing The Trader column, which covered the stock market and investment trends. Previously he had been mutual funds editor for the magazine since March 2000, when he wrote the Fund of Information column, edited the quarterly mutual fund pullout sections and wrote cover stories for the magazine. Mr. Santoli has received two Dow Jones Newswires Awards for distinguished realtime journalism. In 1995, he was a member of a team honored for a series of stories on the demise of D. Blech & Co., and in 1996, he and a colleague received an award for their coverage of the securities industry. Ruchir Sharma: Emerging Markets PM, Morgan Stanley Investment Management Mr. Sharma is head of the Global Emerging Markets Equity team at Morgan Stanley Investment Management in New York and a member of the Global Asset Allocation Committee. The emerging markets team manages over 25 billion dollars in assets and is one of the largest and most experienced managers of emerging markets assets in the world. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1996 and has 15 years of investment experience. Ruchir is a contributing editor with Newsweek and writes for other publications as well such as The Wall Street Journal. He is also a contributor to The Economic Times, and has been writing a regular column on global financial markets since 1991.
