Robert L. Graham (1805 1887) Robert L. 1 Graham was born December 21 st 1805. 2 It was recorded that Robert was born in Ireland. 3 Robert died September 17 th 1887 at 81years, 8 months, and 27 days. 4 Robert was reported to be buried in the Middle Springs Presbyterian Church, Southampton Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania. However, there are no Graham names in this cemetery. 5 He married: Ann Devor, sister of his brother, John s wife Lydia. 6 Ann Devor was born about 1806 and Ann s father was James Devor, who was born in Scotland England, and died at the age of 87 in Spring Run. He was married 1 st to Mary Ann Elizabeth Taylor, and 2 nd to Lydia Roles. Ann died during the 1860 s. The home of the Devor family was in the Spring Run, and Amberson Valley region of Fannett Township Franklin County Pennsylvania. James s father was Joseph Daver. 7 Joseph was born in Scotland England and died in Franklin County Pennsylvania. William and Agnes Children 2 nd Generation 2. Robert L. Graham: (William and Agnes: 1 st Son) Born: December 21 st 1805 in Ireland 1 2 Died: September 17 th 1887-81years, 8 months, 27 days (he was 74 years old in 1880) died at 87 in Spring Run Taylor ~ children: Buried: Middle Springs Presbyterian Church Cumberland County Married: Ann Devor (Deavor), sister of John s wife Lydia Born: about 1806 Died: after 1850 and before 1860 Father: 2. James Devor (Deavor) 3 Born: Scotland Died: Spring Run at age 87 Father: 1. Joseph Daver, born in Scotland, Married; 1 st Marriage: Mary Ann Elizabeth 2 nd Lydia Roles James and Lydia children: 2. 3. Robert French married Mary E. Graham (They are 1 st Cousins) 3. Nancy French 2. Ann: married Robert Graham 2. Lydia: married John Graham Locations: Mifflin and Hopewell Townships. Cumberland Co., adjacent to Toboyne and Jackson Townships Perry Co. Edith J. census Robert and Ann Children: 3. Mary E.: born 1834 married Robert French, their children are: Carrie S. and 3. Joseph: born 1836, died about 1870 to 1878 3. Sarah J. or I.: born 1838 3. Agnes: born 1842 3. William A.: born 1834 may have lived with William and Agnes in 1850 Robert French must have died after the 1860 census; and Mary must have re-married, because Mary and her children Carrie and Edith, along with her father, Robert Graham, show up in the 1870 and 1880 Southampton Twp, Shippensburg Post Office census under the name of William H. Watson. It appears Mary and her new husband William had two children; William G. born about 1869 and Lillie A. born about 1871. William Watson worked in a paper mill, and was 26 years old at the time, while Mary (Graham) was 32 years old. The death certificate for William A. mentioned Robert was born in Ireland, which is possible. However because the information on the certificate is provided by the next of kin, most likely William s wife, Robert s birth place will be researched. Robert C. Graham: (William and Agnes: 1 st Son) Born: December 21 st 1805 4 Died: September 17 th 1887-81years, 8 months, 27 days (he was 74 years old in 1880) Buried: Middle Springs Presbyterian Church Cumberland County Married: Ann Devor (Deavor), sister of John s wife Lydia Born: about 1806 Died: after 1850 and before 1860 Locations: Mifflin and Hopewell Townships Cumberland Co., adjacent to Toboyne and Jackson Townships Perry Co. 3. Joseph: born 1836, died about 1870 to 1878 Graham Rider s Family Line 3. Sarah J. or I.: born 1838 3. Agnes: born 1842 3. William A.: born 1844 Robert French must have died after the 1860 census; and Mary must have re-married, because Mary and her children Carrie and Edith, along with her father, Robert Graham, show up in the 1870 and 1880 Southampton Twp, Shippensburg Post Office census under the name of William H. Watson. It appears Mary and her new husband William had two children; William G. born about 1869 and Lillie A. born about 1871. William Watson worked in a paper mill, and was 26 years old at the time, while Mary (Graham) was 32 years old. I still have more work to do with this family, particularly William A. Robert Graham and Ann Devor Children i. Mary E. Graham was born about 1834. She 1 st married Robert French. Their children were: Carrie S. French who was born about 1856, and Edith J. French who was born about 1858. 8 Robert French married Mary E. Graham, the daughter of Robert Graham and Ann Devor Robert French was born about 1832 in Pennsylvania, most likely in the Franklin or Cumberland County region of Pennsylvania. Robert s parents may have been John and Sarah French of Newton Township Cumberland County. John would have been born about 1794 and Sarah about 1797, both in Pennsylvania. Robert must have died after the 1860 census; and Mary may have re-married, because Mary and her children Carrie and Edith, along with her father, Robert Graham, show up in the 1870 and 1880 Southampton Twp, Shippensburg Post Office census under the name of William H. Watson. It appears Mary and her new husband William had two children; William G. born about 1869 and Lillie A. born about 1871. William Watson worked in a paper mill, and was 26 years old at the time, while Mary (Graham) was 32 years old. ii. Joseph Graham was born about 1836, and died about 1870 to 1878. 9 He married Lavina A. Mort who was born about 1842. Lavina s father was Mathias Morte Jr. who was born in Germany before settling in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Mathias later settled in Maryland before moving to Burnt Cabins Fulton County Pennsylvania where he was laid to rest in the local Reform Church Cemetery. In 1860 Joseph and Lavina lived in Newburg area of Hopewell Township Cumberland County Pennsylvania. His father Robert and Uncle John also lived in the same area at this time. Joseph died and Lavina then married about 1878 to Michael Hammond, and they lived in Letterkenny Township Franklin County Pennsylvania. Joseph and Lavina Graham had the following children. There is some confusion to who the children were for Joseph and Lavina. A. Mary E. Graham was born June 1860. 10

B. Minta (Araminta) was born May 1869. She married Samuel Staver at 18 years old on Dec 14 th 1886 C. Rosetta J. (Rose) Graham was born about 1872. She married June 16 th 1894 to John Shank of Upper Strasburg Letterkenny Township Franklin County Pennsylvania. John was born about 1867. John s father was John S. Shank. John was 1 st married to Anna, Divorced May 29 th 1898, Prothonotary Office Franklin Co D. William A. Graham was born October 25 th 1873. 11 He married Caroline Wharton of Sewickley from Haysville Borough Pittsburg Area and Allegany County Pennsylvania. William died September 23 rd 1911 at the age of 37, and was laid to rest in the Sewickley Cemetery, Sewickley Alleghany County. E. Joseph Newton. Graham was born about 1877 iii. Sarah J. or I. Graham was born about 1838 iv. Agnes Graham was born about 1842 v. William A. Graham was born about 1834, 12 at the age of 64 in Boling Springs, struck by train September 1906. He was buried Huntsdale, Cumberland County Pennsylvania. William had 8 children.
