Chapter 2 IMAGING SOFTWARE OVERVIEW PC System Requirements This section specifies the minimum PC system requirements for Kodak dental imaging software. IMPORTANT It is MANDATORY to check that the PC system configuration is compatible with the PC system requirements for the Kodak dental imaging software. If necessary you MUST update your PC system configuration. DO NOT place the PC and the peripheral equipment connected to it in the immediate vicinity of the patient in the unit. Leave at least 1.5 m distance from the unit. The PC and the peripheral equipment must conform to the IEC 60950 standard. The minimum configuration can change depending on your device. See the corresponding installation manuals. Kodak Dental Imaging Software Overview The Kodak dental imaging software is a user-friendly working interface that was designed and developed specifically for radiological diagnosis. It is the common imaging platform for all our digital systems for dentistry. The Kodak dental imaging software has the following features: Patient record management using Patient Window features Extraoral and intraoral image management using Imaging Window features 3D image management using 3D Imaging Window features NOTE If you access the Imaging Window directly from your patient management software, you will not see the Patient Window. 2 2 IMAGING SOFTWARE OVERVIEW

This window is the main interface that provides you with all the patient record functions. Chapter 3 GETTING STARTED Starting the KODAK Dental Imaging Software NOTE You can access the Kodak Dental Imaging Window directly from your patient management software. Before starting your Kodak dental imaging software, check that: All the connections between the devices and the PC are properly connected. The PC is turned ON. To start your Kodak dental imaging software, follow these steps: 1. On your desktop, double-click. OR From your PC, select Start > All Programs > Kodak > Kodak Dental Software. Managing Patient Record Managing Patient Record NOTE For information on how to use all the patient record functions, on the menu bar click? to access the online help. Creating a Patient Record To create a patient record, follow these steps: 1. In the Patient Window, from the toolbar, click. OR From the menu bar, select Patient > New. 2. Enter the required patient information. The Last name, the First name and the Date of birth fields are required. 3. From the menu bar, select Picture > Insert Picture to add a *.tif or *.bmp picture of the patient to the record. Select the picture from your directory and click Open. 4. OK to save. The patient record is automatically assigned a 7-digit number starting with a letter (for example, M0000001). 5. to access the Imaging Window. 3 2 GETTING STARTED

Managing Patient Record Finding a Patient Record To find a patient record, follow these steps: 1. In the Patient window, click, or from the menu bar, select Patient > Find. The Find dialogue box is displayed. 2. Enter the last name of the patient via the Find keyboard or your keyboard. The patient name appears in the list. 3. Select the patient and click to open the patient record. The Patient Window appears with the patient record. Modifying a Patient Record To modify a patient record, follow these steps: 1. In the Patient window, click, or from the menu bar, select Patient > Modify. The curser appears in the last name field. 2. Enter your modifications and click OK. Managing Patient Record Deleting a Patient Record WARNING Deleting a patient record also deletes the images associated with the record. TIP To avoid accidental loss, always back up your data. To delete a patient record, follow these steps: 1. In the Patient window, from the menu bar, select Patient > Delete. A CAUTION dialog box is displayed. 2. OK or Cancel. Exiting the Patient Window To exit the Patient Window, click, or from the menu bar, select Patient > Exit. 3 4 GETTING STARTED

Opening an Image To open an image, follow these steps: 1. In the Imaging Window, do one of the following: to open an image. to open the patient history. Managing a 2D Image Resizing an image To resize an image, follow these steps 1. In the Imaging Window, open the image. To minimize the image, click in the right corner of the image title bar. 2. To increase the size of the image, click in the right corner of the image title bar. 3. To reposition the image, click on the image title bar and drag the image to the position in the Imaging Window that you desire. 4. For full screen view, double click the image, or right click on the image and select Full Screen. Saving an Image To save an image, follow these steps: 1. In the Imaging Window, click or from the menu bar, select File > Save. The Save Image dialog box is displayed. NOTE The Save Image dialog box type depends on the image type acquired. 2.
