Program Introduction S TE AM www.kiditech.org

About Kiditech In Kiditech's mighty world, we coach, play and celebrate an innovative technology program: K-12 STEAM. We gather at Kiditech to learn and have fun with Robots Design, 3D Design and Print, IoT with Arduino and Raspberry Pi, Game Design and more. Together, we discover the evolution of technology and have fun with science, engineering, art and math! Why Kiditech Largest selection of high-tech courses in the Bay Area Progressive course levels for children of different levels Project-based courses backed with a well-defined curriculum Great benefits with the low student-to-teacher ratio Highly qualified instructors with tech and engineering background Scholarships available for underprivileged and top performing students

WONDER DASH AND DOT Grade K - 2 In our level 1 10-lesson Wonder Dash and Dot course, students will learn to code while playing with robots. They will learn about fundamental concepts of sequence and algorithm while using five different apps from tablets to pass a series of challenges. After that, they will be provided more challenging and interesting missions in terms of math, physics, science, art, and music. During our level 2 class, students will have the opportunity to team up with other students to participate in the Wonder League Robotics Competition. Learn logical programming while playing with the ready-togo robots Wonder Dash and Dot Team up together to win badges for hundreds of fun challenges Experience the magical mix of software and hardware Coding as young as possible

VEX IQ ROBOT Grade 3-5 VEX IQ is a robotics platform designed to transform the STEM learning paradigm for young students from grades 3-8. It uses a system similar to that of Lego MINDSTORMS, but targeted more for educational purposes. We inspire the creativity in students as they design and build awesome machines with the Vex IQ Supper Kit and RobotC software. The course exposes students to more complex engineering techniques such as pulleys, inclined planes, gears, sensors, and motors. Using visual drag-and-drop/text programming software, a range of sensors, and teamwork, students can build anything from an autonomous car to a claw robot. We get the creativity flowing right away in this hands-on, engaging course. Let s start building! Programming concepts Robotics introduction and basics including sensors, pulleys, levers, gears, and motors Engineering concepts, hands-on building, and problemsolving Collaborative teamwork for multi-level challenges Presentation and pitch

GAME DESIGN WITH SCRATCH Grade 3-5 Scratch is a platform that promotes mathematical and computational skills as well as creativity, reasoning and collaborative working. Students will have exposure to computer science, with the help of Scratch, a basis drag-and-drop block programming tool, and learn how to think like a computer scientist in a structured classroom setting. In 10 weeks, students will become familiar with every function in Scratch and challenge themselves to their limits. They will complete several projects using Scratch while applying the techniques they learned during lessons. They will also learn how to use Scratch to make animated simulations and stories by cascading different blocks. Be familiar with every function in Scratch Obtain mathematical and computational skills Creativity and reasoning Collaborative working Exposure to computer science Logical thinking

3D DESIGN AND PRINTING WITH TINKERCAD Grade 3+ 3D printing is one of the fastest growing fields in technology. From hardware and software engineering to industrial design and manufacturing, 3D printing industry opportunities are at the forefront of an emerging trend towards fast prototyping and rapid product development. This course gives students the opportunity to see how 3D printing is transforming our world as they learn how to design simple 3D objects and successfully prepare them for 3D printing with online Tinkercad. They can make something from scratch, or import a more intricate model to use as a starting point. The best part of all? They will actually watch it print and take their designs home. Tinkercad is good for beginners. This course will prepare students for more professional 3D design software like Autodesk Maya and Blender. Set up the 3D printer process Discover best practices for 3D print creation Learn to work in 3D space Design 3D solid models with Tinkercad Troubleshoot 3D prints Creativity

GAME DESIGN WITH UNITY Grade 5+ Unity is one of the most popular and professional tools among game developers. It is an all-purpose game engine that supports 2D and 3D graphics, drag and drop functionality and scripting through C#. Students will get a chance to hone their programming skills using C# to bring creations to life. Delve into all aspects of game creation with a full development pipeline: implementing art, sound, and scripts to complete a project they can be proud of and take home. Students have the opportunity to design and develop their very own game with the power of Unity, and it will turn into a lifelong skill that will benefit them in school and career. How to reuse game elements from the asset store in Unity Understand fundamentals of the Unity game engine Build a basic 3D Super Mario clone game with multiple game levels How to create 3D models and animations in Unity with the C# language Create own 3D game

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING WITH ARDUINO Grade 5+ Arduino is most popular open source hardware in the world, which uses single-board micro-controllers and microcontroller kits for building digital devices and interactive objects that can sense and control objects in the physical world. This course will introduce students to the world of hardware and software in a fun, seamless way. They will learn the basics of electrical engineering and coding with a takehome Arduino development kit, a learning platform powered by a microcontroller that reacts to light, temperature, and sound. Students will work with hands-on experiments and projects while learning about C programming with the Arudino IDE, create their own projects with the art of combining both hardware and software. Read circuit schematics and learn principles of system design Program with C in the Arduino IDE Apply electrical engineering, physics, and mathematics in real projects Learn how to write input and output code to control motors and all types of sensors including temperature, light, LED, touch, motion, and fingerprint etc.

GAME DESIGN WITH PYTHON Grade 5+ Come see why Python s simple and readable code is easy to jump into, but powerful enough to be used by Google and NASA. In 2017, Python has been ranked as the most popular language by programmers. The clear structure and easy syntax make Python the best option as the first programming language for kids. Students will learn the ropes of this objectoriented programming language by creating their own game, and get familiar with the 'logical loop' and 'if, else' structure, they will import 2D graphics and sound libraries to make their projects even more unique. After the course, students can bring home their fun game creation to share it with their friends and show off their new coding skills. Create variables and functions Control flow including if statements and loops Use object oriented design principles Program in an IDE Capturing user input Manipulating graphics

IOT WITH RASPBERRY PI Grade 5+ The Raspberry Pi is a series of small singleboard computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote the teaching of basic computer science in schools and in developing countries. The latest credit card sized Raspberry pi 3B has wifi chip on board, which enables IoT functionality. During this course, students will learn how to write Linux software on a Raspberry Pi and get familiar with Linux systems and basic Linux commands. They will also learn TCP/IP and socket programming and video streaming and picture capturing. They will also do mini projects such as create a program in Python for a motion control video car, design a graphic user interface for car remote and talk to Twitter and Google voice assistant through an API. Learn Linux systems and master basic Linux commands. Learn Python and socket programming. Complete interesting hands-on project like twitter pusher, Video Robot car, and google voice assistant. Build a complete project from scratch. Team work and pitch.
