IDAS is the Icom s digital land mobile radio system using the NXDN common air interface and has complete system components including handheld, mobile radios and repeater. Useful calling features including selective calling, status message, radio stun/kill/revive and GPS position reporting, etc,. The IDAS is ideal for business and industry users who are thinking to migrate to a digital system and future narrow channel spacing now. Digital/analog mixed mode operation The IDAS radio can receive both analog and digital mode signals on a single channel. You can gradually introduce IDAS radios, while using the existing analog radios in a system, adding the digital capabilities without any down time on your existing analog system. Increase spectrum efficiency The IDAS radio utilizes 6.25kHz narrow channel spacing, which within a 12.5kHz channel, you can potentially create two offset 6.25kHz channels. (i.e. doubling the channel efficiency and capacity.) You can use these channels, for example, in a one for voice and one for data communication configuration. Improved audio quality Better receiver sensitivity at the narrow bandwidth and the latest in vocoding technology mean you have crystal clear audio over a greater total coverage area than analog FM even at the edge of the communication range. Network interface* 1 The optional UC-FR5000 provides a network interface that can be connected to a LAN or the Internet via Ethernet cable. When connected to a PC, you can remotely maintain the repeater configuration from your PC as well as other functions. Digital trunking* 1 The optional UC-FR5000 offers single site digital trunking capability. This does not require a dedicated control channel and allows you to use all of the frequency allocations for traffic channels. This will allow you further effective channel management by sharing multiple channels with a large number of users. Secure communication The IDAS system provides digital voice scrambler a using 15-bit (about 32,000 keys) digital voice scrambler as standard. Selective call, group call and talk group ID The IDAS radios allow you to call individual or group users. The radio automatically sends its own ID number while holding the PTT button. The IDAS radio memorizes up to 500 each of individual/group ID numbers and alias names in the table. The alias name or individual/group ID is displayed on the LCD while receiving a message allowing you to identify who is calling. Emergency call functions When the emergency button is pushed, the emergency signal will be automatically sent to the dispatcher or another radio. The BIIS 1200 standard is the best choice to add a data service to an existing system. The BIIS system provides AVL, text and status message services as well as voice communication. BIIS 1200 : Binary Interchange of Information and Signalling at 1200 bit/second as defined by ETS 300 230. Digital ANI (Automatic Number Identification) The BIIS radio sends own digital ID each time when the PTT button is pushed or released. Everyone on the system will know who is calling and the BIIS radio memories up to 3 calling station for record. By using a PC dispatch application, the communication log can be recorded. Short Data Message (SDM) capability A max 95-character SDM can be sent and received with the BIIS radio. The DTMF keypad allows you to input a message directly from the keypad. When a received message exceeds the display area, an automatic scrolling function allows you to read the message. 32 call memory The BIIS radio memories up to 32 users ID and name to use for both transmit and receive. On transmit you can scroll a name from the memory list on the display and make a call by pushing the PTT button. On receive the BIIS radio shows the callers name on the display, if the caller's ID is in the call memory. EXISTING VOICE SYSTEM 24-status message Status messages are simplified SDMs. The BIIS radio allows you to set up to 24 conditions such as on duty, at lunch or in route,etc. You can select a message and send it to the desired station. GPS receiver connection When connected to a GPS receiver or GPS microphone, position information can be sent with pushing the PTT button or at preprogrammed intervals. If a base station is connected to a PC with mapping software, a vehicle management system can allow you to manage a vehicle fleet efficiently*. * Ask your dealer for details. Emergency call The emergency call function allows you to send an emergency signal for the specified time period. The emergency status and position data (when a GPS receiver is connected to the radio) is sent after the emergency signal.
