CORI BUILDING LINE
CORISTIL POLISHED MARBLE COMPOSITION Seasoned slaked lime, selected marble powders, special fibres and additives, which make the product extremely adhesive. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Fine wall covering with a valuable aesthetic appearance. With a smooth, clouded and semi-polished appearance according to the degree of finishing. CORISTIL is transpiratory and offers good steam permeability. The special fibre used gives it a particular reinforced structure, guaranteeing exceptional durability and consistency over time. Its aesthetic and qualitative characteristics mean that CORISTIL is mainly used in restoration work but it is also suitable for new projects. NATURE OF THE BASE It is preferable to apply CORISTIL onto new plaster with no preliminary treatment. It can, however, also be applied to a base which has already been painted with water paint, provided that paint has good adherence and a degree of porousness and roughness. However, if the base is covered with several coats of thick paint, it is advisable to carefully scrape them off. For crumbly, highly absorbent bases, a coat of transparent FONDODECOR, 100% diluted with water, must be applied beforehand. PREPARATION AND APPLICATION CORISTIL is supplied ready to use. Soak the base with water, beforehand, particularly in the warm summer months. Apply CORISTIL with a stainless steel float, ensuring that the product is spread evenly. When the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat, always working the product with pressure. When the second coat is in the process of drying, go over it again with the remaining material, finishing off small areas. Finally, polish by pressing on it with a plastic float. SUPERIORITY OF LIME CORISTIL CLASSIC LIME MARBLE ELEGANT COVERING FOR INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS, WITH SMOOTH, CLOUDED AND SEMI-POLISHED APPEARANCE BASED ON SLAKED LIME AND MARBLE POWDER Milan's Piazza Duomo. Work carried out in 1990. Paint is not only a means of protection and decoration for buildings; it is, first and foremost, an effective element of expression used to humanise the environment in that it is the main form of communication between man and the situation in which he lives and works. Taking that situation into account and according to its own Venetian tradition, CORI has always committed itself to studying and rediscovering ancient decorating formulae and techniques which form part of the cultural heritage of the past, always favouring the use of natural products. CORISTIL is the result of that work. It is undoubtedly one of the oldest types of decorative covering. It was mainly used from the XVI century, however, when the outstanding architect, Andrea Palladio, used it in the splendid Venetian villas, which mark out all his work. It later spread throughout Europe in the XVII century. CORISTIL is an inorganic mineral product for interiors and exteriors with an ancient marbled effect. It is a hygroscopic product with the capacity to react to humidity in the air by absorbing it when there is too much and emitting it when there is not enough. It hardens through evaporation of water and through slow absorption of carbon dioxide present in the air. CORISTIL consists of hydraulic binding material, well-seasoned slaked lime, marble powder and grit, natural additives capable of improving its workability. AREAS OF APPLICATION External façades, restoration of historic centres, large city buildings and particularly valued edifices. In interiors, including different types of stairs and bathrooms with appropriate protection. Recommended for achieving particular colour solutions.
