Fall Colors Yosemite National Park with Explorer of Light, Jennifer Wu October 20-23, 2014 Tentative schedule. Since this is a field workshop we will remain flexible. October 20, 2014: 8:30-9:30 pm Registration, welcome, gear loans, car- pooling schedule and maps. This leaves you time to shoot sunset if you get into Yosemite early. Day 1: October 21, 2014: Sunrise 7:11 a.m. and Sunset 6:15 p.m. 6:45 am Leave for sunrise and morning shoot. We will photograph sunrise as it peaks over half dome, weather permitting and fall foliage. Jennifer and a Canon Representative will be in the field assisting you with composition and camera settings whenever we are in the field.

10:30-11:30 am Brunch 11:30-1:30 pm Break: Rest and review of images 1:30-4:30 pm Lecture: Lecture on Nature and Landscape Composition and Techniques, Hyperfocal. You can return, keep or swap equipment loans (we will bring over any additional equipment you would like). 4:30-6:45 pm Sunset shoot photograph Yosemite s landscapes 7:00 pm Dinner Day 2: October 22, 2014: Sunrise 7:14 a.m. and Sunset 6:12 p.m. 6:30 am Leave for morning shoot. Sunrise shoot and morning shoot of fall colors and waterfalls. 10:30 am- 11:30 pm Brunch 11:30-1:30 pm Break 1:30-4:00 pm Critiques and printing: Bring images and computer. Bring a flash drive with your critique images on it and another for prints, make a folder with your name. Pack dinner (sandwiches and snacks)

4:00-6:45 pm Leave for sunset shoot of Yosemite s grand landscapes. Dinner for the road. We may be out late this evening. Day 3: October 23, 2014: Sunrise 7:13 a.m. and Sunset 6:13 p.m. 6:30 am Leave for morning shoot of Yosemite s icons from a little know location. 9:00 am- 10:00 am Brunch 10:00-11:30 am Break 11:30-3:00 pm Lecture, Critiques and Printing. Lunch in meeting room. 3:30 pm Leave for afternoon and sunset shoot 3:45-5:15 pm Afternoon shoot details and fall colors 5:30-6:45 pm Sunset shoot grand landscapes of Yosemite. 7:00 pm Dinner 8:30 pm Return gear. Say farewells! *Critiques and Printing Image Selection: Pick out images for critiques. These can be ones that you want help with and want to know what could be better. You can also pick out images that are your best shots that you want feedback on or learn why it works well. Pick out 3-5 images. Pick at least one from the

sunrise shoot and one from the mid morning shoot. If you have an image with two compositions that are similar and you can t decide, submit both. You can also submit these images or others to Canon for the Facebook site. Processing: You do not need to process your images for these critiques but you are welcome to do so. If you do any post processing to your images with Photoshop/Lightroom or other software, please include both the original image and the processed image. This way we can see if the image how the image was shot originally and the exposure. Image Size: You can submit the original image for critique. If you would like to resize it, make it at least 1920x1080 pixels at 72 ppi and save as a jpeg. Optional to submit original incase we make some changes to raw file for processing suggestions. Images for Printing: 13x19 size at 300 ppi. If you don t know how to size them, no worries. We can do that so just submit the images in a separate folder from the review. That can be the same images. We will print one image but try to get to two images per person. Submission of Images: Put images on a flash drive A Canon Representative will pass around two flash drives to put your images on them. Make one folder with your name on it for Printing and another folder with your name for Critiques. If you don t have a computer or flash drive, we can pick out some images from your card or you can check with Jennifer or Canon Representative to see your images on their computer to pick out a few.
