R/V L ATALANTE D SHEET METAL WORKS SHIP REPAIRS 2014 In your fixed prices, you shall include the paint treatment after sheet metal works. 1. DECK THREADED HOLES OF THE AFT WORKING DECK SWL: 2,5 T Repair of the threaded holes, the thread of which (M 30) is damaged. At the beginning of the work, the location of the deck threaded holes concerned will be presented to the shipyard. A location plan will be given to the shipyard. Two actions are possible: 1.1 Complete replacement of the threaded hole - Removal of the threaded hole, cutting of underlying stiffeners. - Chamfering of the deck sheet metal. - Check of positioning between-centres of the threaded hole. It is imperative to be sure of the thread defined in the transversal and longitudinal directions. Unless there is another definition on the plan the following holes threads shall be observed : - Transversal thread: 800 mm. - Longitudinal thread: 1100 mm. - Upper welding in several passes. - Grinding of the welding in order to be flush on deck. - Rewarding of under-deck stiffeners (gussets, flats, carlings) and welding under the deck of the threaded hole. - Inspection of the wildings with dye penetration test.. 1.2 Repair by insert - By a carefully centred magnetic pillar drill, drilling from one side of threaded hole to the other to the suited diameter, - Via 2 taps supplied by owner, tapping of the drilled hole at thread M 50 x 1.5 Taps: Brand: TITEX PLUS M 50 x 1.5 B 218 No. 1 and no. 3 - Installation of the insert supplied by owner Insert: Material: a.c.42 Outside threading: M 50 x 1.5 Inside threading: ISO M 30 - Braking of the insert by strong thread brake Loctite. - The upper surface of the insert shall be flush on deck or lightly recessed.. General note for the 2 options: - The threaded holes and inserts are supplied by owner. - At the request of the Bureau Veritas inspector: - Some welds can be X-rayed. - Some threaded holes can be tested at SWL of 2.5 tons. - Removing and refitting ceiling panels under the decks may be necessary as shall be work in state control. - For option 1 Welding the approach work under the decks (remove / refit of pipes, etc.) shall be included. 2. ULTRASONIC THICKNESS MEASUREMENT OF SHEETS See BV rules and table on the next page (age>15). Note: commissioning of the vessel is 1990. Your prices include an expert report, in 3 copies and 1 computerized copy with the requirements of Bureau Veritas and IACS. Each point must be in tables with localization, type of structure, reading thickness and origin thickness. Thickness measurement shall be carrying out by an Bureau Veritas agreed society. To eventually carrying out quickly the replacement of sheet, a handwritten report will be given to the superintendent. MIDSHIP STORE FRESH AIR VENTILATOR FLAP VALVE Position: Deck C, Starboard of aft working deck - Removal of the flap valve - Supply and installation of an identical flap valve (with paint treatment) 4. STEERING GEAR ROOM USED AIR VENTILATOR FLAP VALVE Position: Deck C, starboard of the working deck - Removal of these flap valve, - Flaps condition check, protective paint. - Scrapping, picking, protective painting of ventilator flap valve, - Replacement of ball if necessary, - Refit. 5. CONTAINER HANDLING Position: deck C, starboard passageway Number: 2 - Welding of brackets aft and fore of each eyebolt, - Test under 3 tons - Paint repair 6. TUBES HOLD To contain sea water on the front of the hold: - Gas freeing of DO ballast n 11, - Confection and weld a steel plate of height 100 mm just forward of a man hole across the width of the hold, - Confection of a pipe DN 40 until the drip tray of the hatch cover to the drain hole. 9. BULKHEAD PASSAGEWAYS Concern 3 cables passageways: - One located on deck G, on aft port side : diameter 110 mm Chapter D D - 8

DECK HATCH Concern 2 deck hatches: - Hatch to access scientist control room: deck F - Hatch to access aft bridge Work to do: - Removal of hatch, - Cut corroded parts (flanged edge) and refection, - Paint treatment - Set a new gasket - Refit on board, - Tightness test. PORTHOLES (RECTANGULAR SECTION) WATERTIGHTNESS WORK Concerns the portholes (rectangular section) of deck F and deck E Deck F Fore wheelhouse: 14 portholes (13 fixed and 1 opening) Aft wheelhouse: 8 portholes (7 fixed and 1 opening). Deck E 4 portholes on the front. Dimensions of a porthole: 600 mm x 400 mm For each porthole: - Removal, - Replacement of seals (seal between glazing and frame if necessary) supplied by vessel. - Sanding, grinding and surfacing of the mating faces. - Replacement of hinges on the deadlight if necessary (for deck E), - Lubrication of hinges (for opening portholes). - Refit. - Inspection of the mating faces with chalk (for opening portholes). - Water tightness checks using a fire hose. PORTHOLES (CIRCULAR SECTION) WATERTIGHTNESS WORK Concerns the portholes (circular section) of decks B and C on the hull side Number of portholes: 35 as follows: 10 fixed and 25 opening. For each porthole: - Removal. - Replacement of seals supplied by vessel. - Sanding, grinding and surfacing of the mating faces. - Lubrication of hinges (for opening portholes). - Refit. - Inspection of the mating faces with chalk (for opening portholes). - Water tightness checks using a fire hose. 20. DOOR OF BATTERIES ROOM Location: Deck E on port side - Replacement of the door supplied by owner. 21. TRANSOM PLATE - Removal all Delta fenders, - Grinding of the part located under fenders, - Ultrasonic thickness measurement of the sheet, - Paint treatment, - Refit fenders. 22. ACCESS LADDER FOR PILOT LADDER Currently, this ladder is not removable: - Cut pipes welded on the main rail, - Weld a tube on the main rail as shown on the scheme below - Refection of upper tubes on the access lader. Chapter D D - 17

24. AFT PORT SIDE SHELL PLATE Location: frame n 3 - Cut the frame around the deformation over a height of 800 mm, - Cut the shell plate of 300 mm either side of the deformation - Reconstitution of the shell plate (thickness: 8,5 mm) and the frame. - Paint treatment after work. 25. PORT GENAVIR LOGO - Removal the logo, - Cut stainless steel plates, - Weld steel plates - Paint treatment - Refit the logo. Chapter D D - 19
26. MAGNETOMETER WINCH - Removal winch (electric connexion by the crew), - Removal stanchions and footbridge, - After eventually sheet metal works and paint treatment, refit stanchions, footbridge and winch. AFT ENGINE ROOM BLOWER DUCT Location: at port side, under the aft crane. - Cut the grid and the end of the blower duct (50 mm as shown below on picture), - Refection of the air duct, - Confection of a new grid that will be fixed by screw on the air duct, - Confection of a new plug, articulations, and locked system, - Paint treatment. 28. ADJUSTABLE PROJECTOR - Removal the direction system of the projector (axe and wheel) - Refection of the deck passageway - Refit axe end wheel, - Water tightness test. 29. NAVIGATION LIGHTS BOXES Number: 2 Location: on deck F - Removal lights and cables, - Removal boxes - Confection and fit new boxes, - Paint treatment, - Refit cables and lights. Chapter D D - 21

CTD CONTROL UNIT BOXES Number: 2 Actual dimensions: 400 x 300 x 160 mm (without cover) - Removal cables and connexion, - Removal all equipment inside, - Confection of new boxes (in stainless steel) with dimensions: 450 x 370 x 210 mm (without cover), - Refit all equipment in the new boxes, - Cabling and trials. 35. GALLEY EXTRACTION DUCT Cleaning and degreasing of the duct. To be done while the duct extraction fan is being overhauled by the electrical team (avoid removing the fan). Area to clean and degrease: From the galley hood included to the extraction box on deck D starboard outside passageway. This corresponds, other than the hood and extraction unit, with the following duct segments marked on the attached plans: - 19, 18, 17 (section: 900 x 400 mm.) : length = 3600 mm. - 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 : length = 4000 mm. - 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32 : length = 3500 mm. - 31, 30, 29, 28, 27, 26 : length = 4500 mm. 36. SERVICE BOAT CRADLE - Confection a cradle for the service boat. - The size will be imperatively as a 20 container. - The three brackets in wood will be adapted to the shape of boat keel. Chapter D D - 26

38. DECK THREADED HOLES OF THE 800MM INSTRUMENTS WELL The 8 threads (M16) used to support the instruments are corroded and need to be drilled to the upper size (M18). See plans below. The work requested is, for each of the 8 threads : - Cleaning - Drilling to 18mm - Threading to M18 - Providing a brass cap to protect the new thread from further corrosion The 4 holes from the supporting structure must also be enlarged to 18mm, and appropriate screws must be provided (for example, FHC 18 x 30 stainless steel A4). Once done, the system will be tested by the crew to ensure proper operation.. Chapter D D - 28
