My Background Michael Barna Financial Advisor Michael is a highly seasoned financial professional with Morgan Stanley who provides financial advice to a wide range of individual investors, small business owners, corporations and non-profits. Having worked in the securities industry for more than three decades, he has accumulated the type of experience that aims to give investors an uncommon first-hand, top-down approach to investing. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Michael served as Executive Vice President for Burnham Asset Management Corp. and Chief Financial Officer of their Mutual Fund Division for nearly 17 years. During his long career, Michael has worked in numerous market environments, giving him perspectives and insights that investors highly value. This experience also enables Michael to remain poised regardless of how markets perform. Business has been an integral part of Michael's life long before he entered financial services. Born and reared in New Jersey, Michael grew up in a family that founded and ran a successful food business for more than 80 years. When he entered college, he continued his education in business, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Seton Hall University and equally, important, an unwavering dedication to make a difference in the lives of others. How Michael Works My Process Michael follows a highly methodical process to create custom, holistic financial plans for his clients. He conducts a detailed face-to-face discovery process to determine what is truly important to them, including their unique goals, risk tolerance and time horizon. From there, Michael meticulously charts a prudent course to help them get to where they want to be. Before implementing any plan, Michael holds in-depth discussions with his clients to ensure they are completely confident with his recommendations. He will only implement a plan once a client agrees it is truly the best course of action for his or her needs. After a plan is in place, Michael will track its performance and communicate regularly with his client to ensure he or she is satisfied with the plans' performance and to answer any questions he or she may have. Regular communication also ensures that Michael remains current on the client's life and, therefore, ahead of the curve should the client anticipate any changes in his or her life, thereby requiring an adjustment to the plan.
