2.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE MACHINE The machine designed for cutting steel and plate shape plastic parts. The current motor with reducer and brake system with cooler provide silent working and saving energy. Its frame is produced as monoblok. The machine steel welded construction is made from St42 quality material. Blades material is Böhler K110. These high quality blades and light cutting system provide very quality and sensitive cuttings. Back gauge can be adjustable to 750mm (optional 1000mm) automatically. 4.0 TRANSPORT & ASSEMBLY 4.1 MACHINE TRANSPORT Figure 1 5

The machine must be lifted from transport points which is two sides of the machine, according to central of the machines weight, as Figure 1. Transport operation should done by crane and steel rope according to weight of the machine and expert personnel with security precautions. If you transport the machine to out of the factory, be sure of placed the machine to the truck. Please support with battens, if it needs. Take the security precautions during the transport and fix the machine hardly to the truck for personnel and machine security. Note: Do not lift the machine with forklift! 4.2 MACHINE ASSEMBLY You should install the machine rightly for sensitive, productive and long life working. Figure 2 6

The floor should be straight for good installation. If floor is not available, do it straight. When installing the machine: 1. Mark the floor according to machines connection points then drill. And fix the machine to the floor with steel screws. 2. Balance the machine with water gauge. Fill the gaps under the feet if it needs. 3. Do not start the machine without rightly installation. 4. Does not start the machine with the machine, which is make highly vibration, in the same place for safety and sensitive working. 4.3 ELECTRIC CONNECTION The machine comes to you with completed electric connections and tried with standard 380V voltage at Scantool A/S. But you should mount the main feeding cable to the machine according to main line. For this operation; 1. Install the machine according to the manual. 2. Open the electric panel which is on right side of the machine. You can see the main feeding connector in the left corner as Figure 3. 3. Be sure of the cable not connecting to network. 4. Connect your cable 4x6+6 mm 2 to L1, L2, L3, N and PE connectors with consider the phases. Note: The electric connections should be done by expert personnel. 7

4.4 STORING CONDITIONS We take safety precautions for the machine from our company. So the machine does not take any damage during the transport. If the machine stay in storage over one month, you must be careful the following points; 1. Machine must be covered with foil and put the thing which is for prevent humidity, for avoid the electric panel from humidity, if the storage is with humid. 2. Lubricate the blades, shafts and unpainted metal parts with protect oil for avoid the oxidation. 3. Protect the extreme sunshine directly. Figure 3 4. Storage is not with extreme humid and/or wet. 8

4.5 GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS PLEASE DO NOT START THE MACHINE IF YOU DO NOT GET SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR YOU AND YOUR PERSONALS SAFETY! Before start the machine, we recommend these safety precautions to you; 1. The machine must be placed rightly and fixed to the floor. 2. Only the authorized personal must operate the machine. 3. Do not put your body part under finger protection grid. 4. When you need to adjust blade gap, be sure that, not to touch upper beam and other moving parts when the blades in moving. 5. Do not rip off the safety parts from the machine. 9

5.0 OPERATION OF THE MACHINE 3 2 4 6 1 5 Note: Do not start the machine before making final controls. Be sure that, there is no object and/or body part between blades and backgauge place. Start the machine after installation and electric connection according to the manual. 1. Get the main switch (1) to 1 position for start. 2. Press the RESET (2) botton. Figure 4 3. Get the position key (5) from 0 position to 1 position. 4. Press up button (3), so move the upper blade to up position. The upper beam stops automatically, when it comes to up limit point. 10

5. Press down button (4), so move the upper blade to down position. The upper beam stops automatically, when it comes to down limit point. 5.1 POSITION KEY & CUTTING OPERATION The machine can be operated in three different ways: 1. MANUAL ADJUSTMENT POSITION WITH HAND BUTTON 2. CONTINIOUSLY CUTTING POSITION WITH PEDAL CONTROL 3. SINGLE CUTTING WITH PEDAL CONTROL 1. POSITION: MANUAL ADJUSTMENT WITH HAND BUTTON It provides control of the blades moving with command buttons which is on the panel. 1. Get the position key (5) to 1 position. 2. Be sure that, there is no pressed emergency stop buttons (6). 3. You can move the upper blade between up limit and down limit with up and down buttons (3 and 4) which are on the panel. 4. Do not do cutting operation when the machine is in this position. If there is a squeezing while cutting, you can get the table to up position with back button. 2. POSITION: CONTINIOUSLY CUTTING WITH PEDAL CONTROL When the machine start in this position, it starts to make continuously cutting ( 35 c/m ) during hold down the pedal but when you get out of your foot from the pedal, upper blade goes to up limit point then stops. For use the machine in this position; 1. Get the position key (5) to 2 position. 2. Be sure that, there is no pressed emergency stop buttons (6). 3. Adjust the back gauge then bring the working piece between blades to back gauge. 4. Realize the requested quantity cutting with hold down the pedal. Note: Do not forget the machine cuts continuously during hold down the pedal and be careful. 11

3. POSITION: SINGLE CUTTING WITH PEDAL CONTROL The machine makes single cutting for each press to control pedal with your foot. When you hold down the pedal, it makes single cutting and then upper blade goes to up limit point and stops. For using the machine in this position; 1. Get the position key (5) to 3 position. 2. Be sure that, there is no pressed emergency stop buttons (6). 3. Placed the working piece with adjusting the back gauge or according to shadow cutting line. 4. Press the pedal for cutting operation. 12

6.0 GENERAL MAINTENANCE OF THE MACHINE 6.1 ADJUSTMENT OF THE MACHINE 1. PRESS BODY ADJUSTMENT Press body is a little bit up position from working piece thickness. When start the cutting operation, it moves with upper beam and applies a press to working piece without blade touching and prevent sliding working piece during the cutting operation. Figure 5 Adjustment of the press mechanism For adjusting the press mechanizm, please squeezing and loosing the springs (3) with nuts (2) which is on the right and left side of the machine. And adjusting the gap adjustment of press, please squeezing and loosing the screws (4) in up limit point. 13

2. BACKGAUGE ADJUSTMENT If you need to make sensitive adjustment; do it with the nuts (2) which is on the back gauge shafts. Get the back gauge buffer (1) to front position until touching lower blade surface. If the buffers one side in front or back position, use the the nuts (1) and provide touching. 3. BLADE INSTALLATION After a time you need a sharpened blades. The machine has got two different (upper and lower) shape blades. The upper blades end has got 5 o slope and 2 cutting edged. And lower blade has not got a slope but has got 4 cutting edged. Figure 8 Demounting the upper blades 1. Get the upper table (1) to down limit point. 2. Loose the press spring with turning the nuts (2). 3. After loosing the screws (3), turn the press connection batten (4) 90 o then give off the press body. 4. Get the upper beam to up limit point and put battens between beams for security then stop the machine. 5. Loose the screws (5) from back of the upper table then give off the blades 6. Install the sharpened or new blades with screws but do not squeezing hardly. After be sure of installed the blade to upper table surface, squeezing hardly 15

Figure 9 Changing the lower blade 7. Loose the screws (2) then give off lower blade (3). After cleaning the place of lower blade, install the new or sharpened blade then squeezing with screws. Note: Only the expert personnel should make this operation with safety precautions and carefully. 4. BLADE GAP ADJUSTMENT You need blade gap adjustment after new or sharpened blade installation. For the adjustment: 1. Get the position key to 1 position and get the upper table to a little bit down position (5mm upper blade entering) from up limit point with down moving button. 2. Loose the nuts (1 (6 piece) and 3 (6 piece)) which are the two sides of the machine. 3. Control between the blades with 0,1 mm thickness gauge. 4. Adjust the blades gap with the screws ( 2 (6 pieces) & 4 (6 pieces) ), according to the gaps. 5. Get the upper table to down limit point and repeat the 3. and 4. steps in machines right side. 16

6. Squeeze the nuts, which you loosed in 2. step, after the adjustment operation finished. 5. ADJUSTMENT OF LIGHT CUTTING LINE This system provides sensitive and rightly cuttings. For adjust the cutting line; 1. After be sure of the rightly installation of blades, mount the press body then make the adjustment of press. 2. Get the upper beam to up limit point (1) manually. 3. Adjust the shadow as on the lower blade surface completely with setscrews (2 & 3) which is on the press body. Control the gaps between mechanism, which moves the wire front-back, and upper blade (min. 5mm) during the adjust operation. 17

7.0 SAFETY DIRECTIONS FOR GUILLOTINE SHEARS WITH REDUCER CAUTION: Consider the safety directions for avoid the work accident. Please read these directions carefully, before start the machine. Keep of these safety directions! 1. Keep the work place tidy: If the work place is untidy, it makes accident risks and restrain your moving. 2. Consider the environment effectives: Do not stay the machine under the rain. Do not use the machine in humidity area. Provide the good lighting. Distances between fixed parts or stored materials and moving parts of machine are min 500mm. 3. Keep out the other personnel: Especially keep out the children! For decrease the accident risks, you must keep out the other people and animals from the working place. 4. Do not embark to the machine extremely: If you work with recommended values, the machine will be long-life and safety. 5. Wear a suitable work clothes: Do not wear wealthy clothes and jewelry. Wear safe shoes, when working. Keep your hands for cutting. 6. Be careful placing the machine to the floor: Placing the machine to the fixed floor. Consider the free areas for good working. Adjust the machine as the manual instruction. 7. Use the machine according to your decision: Work with the machine lonely. Do not allow the other people, when you work with the machine. Use the machine from table side. Start the cutting operation when you are in table side only. Keep out your hands between blade and press body. Do not remove the press body for get a bigger height in working piece entry. 8. Do the maintenance of the machine: Keep clean and refresh the blades for good working. Please correspond to the manuals instructions. Keep the moving part in greasy. 9. Be careful while working: Do your job carefully. Do not use the machine when your mind confused. Do not want to hold the cut piece during the cutting operation. Use ear protect, if you cut serial. Educate the personnel who is going to work with the machine. 10. Control the machines parts durable: Control the moving parts, the other parts, and connection points before start the machine. If there is a defected part, renewed the part before start the machine according to the safety directions. 11. Consider point: Use only the explicit parts for your safety. 20

8.0 WARRANTY 8.1 Guarantee If within 2 year of purchase this machine supplied by HM MACHINERY A/S becomes defective due to faulty materials or workmanship we guarantee to repair or replace the machine or defective part or parts free of charge provided that: 1. The product is returned complete to one of our Service Branches or Official Service Agents. 2. The product has not been misused or carelessly handled and in particular has not been used in a manner contrary to the operating instructions. 3. Repairs have not been made or attempted by other than our own Service Staff or the staff of our Official Service Agents. 4. Documentary proof of purchase date is produced when the goods are handed in or sent for repair. 5. Wear parts are not covered by the warranty HM MACHINERY A/S offers you five years guarantee on the electrical motor if the motor becomes defective or even burns-out within the first 5 years from date of invoice. 21
