Cheyenne Heritage Quilters Patchwork Update JULY 2017 Dedicated to encouraging and broadening quilter creativity, sharing quilting knowledge, exhibiting quilting accomplishments and contributing to the community NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT: Rose Slatten Hello Ladies, It's July and we have all celebrated the 4th. I often Thank the Lord that I was born in the USA really! Both of my parents served in World War ll. I am a Baby Boomer. My father was actually born on the 4th of July a real Yankee Doodle Dandy. We have a little over a month now to finish up those Quilts for our Quilt Show, to get those items done for the Boutique and to think about what you want to bring for the Bake Sale. Our next meeting is Monday July 17th. Our program is Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum with Brenda telling and showing us about Depression Era Quilts. Once again, this year our library will be featuring our members Quilts at the same time as our Quilt Show. This is a great opportunity for our name to get out there as well as advertisement for the Quilt Show. Keeping with the Garden theme this year we will feature flower themed quilts. Please let me know if you have a quilt with flowers or just bring it to our July meeting. Hope you are all enjoying your Summer. Rose Slatten SOCIAL: Daenette More: Dresden Plates. YOU'VE MADE IT HALF WAY!!! Daenette Quilts of Valor: Marilyn Lanham. No sewing day for QOV for July or August. Any questions please call Marilyn at 635-9246 or 631-3623. 2017 QUILT SHOW Another reminder about our quilt show. We will have more than doubled our expenses for this year's quilt show. For us to cover these added expenses, it is important for us to increase our income. I would encourage each of you to sale as many opportunity quilt tickets as you possibly can. Another source of income is the attendance. Please invite all your neighbors, friends and relatives to come see our show. Also help Mary Ellen by putting up posters around town. She has those posters and smaller flyers you can give to people. The next thing is the boutique. Plan on supporting the boutique in any way possible. Dates to remember: August 1, 2017. All entry forms should be turned in to Carole Gardner August 14, 2017. Monday Quilt drop off at the First United Methodist Church 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you are unable to drop your quilts off, please make arrangements for someone to do that for you. August 16, 2017. Wednesday. Set up If you are helping Donna with set up, be there at 8:30 a.m. with a step ladder, if you have one. August 17 10:00 a.m. Show begins August 18 and 19. Bake sale in the Boutique. Please help by donating items each of these mornings. August 19: 4:00 p.m. Show ends. Be prepared to pick up items from the show at about 4:45 p.m. We appreciate each of you and what you do to help.
