My Scentsy Journey began when I joined April 12, 2011. I had never heard of Scentsy before and was invited to a party by a friend of mine. I was hooked as soon as I walked in, and just couldn t stand the thought of having to wait up to two weeks to receive the goodies I ordered. I went home, searched Scentsy in hopes of finding a way to get some in my hands even quicker, found out if I joined I d have my kit in two to three days and here I am! I was my sponsor s first recruit and a self starter. I set out to learn everything I could about Scentsy and our fabulous products from any source I could find. A little about me I m married to an amazing man, have three teenagers at home, and an adult son who is deaf and disabled. I have an amazing group and team and Scentsy has blessed my life over and over again.
So what do you do now that you have sponsored someone? How do you make them feel welcome? How do you help them succeed? How do you inspire them and keep them excited? How do you do just enough without doing too much? That s what we ll talk about today!
RIGHT AWAY 1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND BE SURE TO WELCOME THEM TO YOUR TEAM. 2. PROVIDE THEM WITH THEIR CONSULTANT ID # IF THEY DON T ALREADY HAVE IT. 3. MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW TO FIND AND LOG INTO THE WORKSTATION. 4. HELP SET UP A PHYSICAL LAUNCH PARTY AND A PARTY ONLINE SO THEY CAN START ACCEPTING ORDERS AND WORKING TOWARDS THEIR SHOOTING STAR GOAL. 5. MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW TO COPY AND PASTE THEIR URL SO THEY CAN SHARE IT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. 6. SHOW THEM WHERE TO FIND THE SCENTSY FAMILY CONSULTANT GUIDE IN THE RESOURCES TAB OF THE WORKSTATION FOR THEM TO REFER TO. 7. ASSURE THEM THEY CANNOT BREAK THE WORKSTATION AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO EXPLORE AND ACCESS THE TRAINING CENTER. 8. SHOW THEM HOW TO EDIT THEIR PWS SO IT IS EASILY IDENTIFIABLE AS THEIRS. 9. ESTABLISH THE BEST WAY TO REACH YOU AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO ASK QUESTIONS WHEN THEY CANNOT FIND THE ANSWERS IN THE START UP GUIDE. 10. ADD AND WELCOME THEM TO YOUR TEAM/GROUP PAGE. This is all stuff I would share with someone very eager to get started. For some, this might seem overwhelming and they could spread it out as needed.
An introduction may or may not be necessary but a welcome is always necessary. I have a welcome letter that I send via email. If they are a Facebook friend we generally have a welcome chat there. If they aren t, I like to call and offer an official welcome. A hand written welcome or congratulations note in the mail is a nice touch too. If I know when someone will be joining, I like to watch for the update and make sure they have their Consultant ID # (in case they didn t note it.) Be sure they know where and how to access the Workstation so they can get busy right away! If your team member is local and you have the ability to help with their physical launch party, that is a great way to get started. If you are not local, suggest some of your favorite training center videos or you tube videos of party examples. Be sure to get an online party set up and SHOW ON PWS!
Be sure they know all about their first goal to reach 500 PRV in their first 15 days! I always make sure they understand that the 15 days starts counting on their day of enrollment. I encourage them to start sharing their business and link right away and NOT to wait for their kit to get started! I like to assure them that everything they need to get started can be found in the Scentsy Family Consultant Guide. I like to show them where to find it in the Workstation so they can start learning how to party for a living right away. Even a consultant with a very inactive sponsor can launch a very successful business as long as they follow the guide. It s an amazing resource and should be their go to reference in the beginning of their business. It s even amazing for us all to refer back to regularly.
KIT ARRIVAL DAY! Be sure to tell/show your new recruit how to know when their kit will arrive. Encourage them to have a few friends over so they can open the box together! They can sniff and smell all the scents together and she may end up with orders or even his/her first recruit right away! I am so excited to receive my Scentsy warmer, samples and business supplies. I d love for my closest friends to be here with me when I open it. Come share this with me!
Try not to completely overwhelm your new recruit with daunting tasks. Encourage passion, excitement, and consistency. As soon as the Shooting Star Goal is achieved, you can shift focus to Certifying in their first 30 days. Of course this sets a great standard for monthly prv, and gives them that first raise and promotion. Once that is accomplished, then you can shift focus to the Scentsational Start Goals. Be sure to show appreciation, recognize, and praise your team whenever they meet company wide goals or goals you have set for them. Their success is your success. Some more things to help your new consultant get started Be sure to be available to help enter their first party when the time comes. If they are local, invite them to a party you are hosting to see how you do it. Explain the WOTM/SOTM subscription Explain the Scentsy Family Store Discuss the Compensation Plan Explain the benefit of the Combine and Saves Talk about her business and how she s her own walking advertisement. Talk how how/why to make samples. Always have business cards, catalogs, and samples on you. Discuss upgrading orders with small add ons like light bulbs or car scents. Discuss the basics about FB posting and what is ethical/within compliance. Makeover Facebook so that everyone knows you are now a consultant. Invite to team meetings Add to your team newsletter Show them how/where to access the Pay Portal HAVE FUN!
