A Very Quick Review You read my previous report about choosing the best game to play, right? So your chances of winnning are probably now at least TEN TIMES better as a result (and could be 50 or even 100 times better already). Well now let's unleash the big guns! This can seriously improve your chances of winning by another 10 to 50 times! You remember I talked about 'synergy'? If choosing the right game boosts your chances by 10 times, and this boosts your chances by another 50 times that's actually 500 times better than where you started (10 x 50)! Well, let's get started then...
Less Is NOT More You've heard the phrase 'less is more', well that does NOT apply here! So you've already been a 'lottery sniper' and focussed in on the best game for you to play. Now it's time to use some tactics to improve your chances of winning the game you picked by unleashing the lottery shotgun. 1. How Often Do You Play? Clearly how often you play has enormous impact on your chances of winning. Play more often, win more often. D'uh... But there is room for manoeuvre here. For example, if you normally play 1 entry every week day, but instead switch to 5 entries on one day a week... your chances of winning are actually better! Yes, even though you are playing the same amount of entries overall. The same total entries in less draws gives a better chance of winning.
(I can wait here while you do the calculations on that... or you can just trust me on this as I already did the maths ) The reason is because you have greater coverage of all the possible results when you actually do play. It's only a very small difference, but it is a difference in your favour, that costs you nothing. 2. How Much Do You Spend? If you buy 1 ticket you have say a 1-in-13 million chance of hitting the jackpot. But if you buy 2 tickets, you double your chances. And 10 tickets = 10 times the chance. Simple, right? But trust me on this, not everyone gets that. So even a small increase in your budget can make a big difference to your chances of winning. The Moneyback Strategy Check the odds of winning the lowest tier prize in your chosen game.
For a 6/49 lottery this is typically somewhere around 1-in- 40. Therefore if you bought 40 tickets, on average you would expect at least 1 of them to win a small prize. So if your budget extends to buying enough tickets each time you play, you can be winning the lowest tier prizes pretty regularly. (How often depends on your chosen game, the odds of those small prizes and a little luck of course). No, this isn't some cunning lottery busting system - because we know that just doesn't exist, right? But it can help subsidise your playing while you look forward to hitting a larger prize. 3. When Do You Play? Most people just play every week and don't give this a moments though. But as I mentioned above, the same number of entries less often is actually slightly better for you. Clearly there's a fun factor here too though. And fun is important. So whilst it would be fun to save up all your entries for a year and blow them all in one draw - there wouldn't be much fun for the rest of the year!
So give some thought as to how often you feel you 'need' to play. And work around that. Ideas On When To Play You could simply play on a fixed frequency, e.g. once a week or once a month. Or maybe only play in draws when the jackpot has rolled over. Or only play when the jackpot has rolled over enough times to be more than an amount you decide on, e.g. over 100 million. And how about those special 'rolldown draws' that some games have too - where if nobody hits the jackpot for a certain number of weeks, the prize pot is won by those who would normally only have won the Tier 2 prize - an excellent boost to your winning chances. 4. How Do You Play? Not where you buy your tickets but how you fund them. Most people just play on their own. But lots of people play with other peoples money... It's no secret! You have heard of this, it's called a lottery
syndicate or lottery pool. It's where you and some friends or work colleagues put your money together, buy tickets, and then split the winnings. If you feel your playing budget is just too small, or like lots of players you can't remember the last time you won even the smallest prize - then a syndicate is a no brainer! But You Have To Share..? Yes, you only get a share of the winnings, but with the right balance of players, game and tickets - your jackpot share will still be big enough, plus the added bonus that you might now actually win it! Remember, 50 entries is 50 times the chance of winning, right? You can start a syndicate yourself. This is cool because it lets you determine the strategy - so long as you can find enough other people also wanting to play the same way. It's also the cheaper option. Don't underestimate the work though of collecting money, buying tickets and distributing prizes. It can be souldestroyingly hard to explain for the 50th time why they can't just owe you this weeks...
There are syndicates out there that are open to everyone, so do consider this if you don't want to run your own. Some are very much a one man band but can be good, whilst others are proper professional companies. As with most things, you get what you pay for. You probably won't be able to pick the exact strategy of play when joining someone elses pool, but for an instant 50 times increase in your chances of winning, don't dismiss it too quickly! How To Find A Good Lottery Syndicate If you want an amateur syndicate, ask around at work or ask friends and family if they play in or know of one.
