What do these numbers mean? 100/2 is giving you two different pieces of information. 1) 100 this refers to staple length of the yarn 1) The higher the #, the finer the fabric 2) The /2 refers to the yarn ply. 1) /2 means that 2 yarns of the same staple length have been twisted together to create one durable yarn. 2) You will see both /2 and /1 (single ply) 2 Take aways: 1) The higher the number, the finer the fabric 2) 2-ply yarn creates added durability to the garment.
