Along the way, trimboard is at risk for hard-to-clean dirt, scuffs and scratches. That s why in 2006 Palight became the first trimboard to come standard with a protective film. Think of it as built-in masking. We ve been improving EverClean protective technology ever since. After 10+ years, EverClean is the still the trusted name to resist tears and peeling before and during installation. Keep the film on for up to 90 days then simply remove the protective release film after the job is complete, and let your work shine. Color2Core means one consistent color, all the way through the material. Throw in sealed edges and two different finish options, and Palight Trimboard gives you the most job site design flexibility. You can t go wrong with our classic white trimboard. But if you re planning neutral color windows, doors or siding, then you owe it to yourself and to the homeowner to use Palight Trimboard in sand or clay instead. A. You can and you should. EverClean keeps Palight Trimboard clean all the way from manufacturing through the end of installation. Think of it as built-in masking. Patch nail holes. Paint around it. Stack, cut, nail, screw, glue, all with the film in place. EverClean can stay in place for up to 90 days after installation a must for longer jobs. Q. What tools can I use to work with Palight Trimboard? A. Palight Trimboard can be worked with standard cutting, drilling and routing tools, just like a good pine board. You can even laminate pieces together and turn them on a lathe (great for making spindles). Our dense HDF 2 free foam core virtually eliminates tearouts or chipping. Q. How can I fasten Palight Trimboard? A. For the cleanest look, use Palight Cortex fasteners, which come with a countersink drill bit and color-matched plugs. No pre-drilling necessary. Nail guns also work well with Palight Trimboard. Fill nail holes with a PVC putty. (Keep the Everclean film in place to provide masking.) Q. Can I paint Palight Trimboard? A. Our three fade-resistant, UV-stable colors white, sand and clay go all the way to the core, so painting isn t necessary. But you can paint it if you want to. No special surface prep is required. Just wipe to remove dust and static. See our website for paint color codes to match. Be sure to specify siding safe paint for vinyl and PVC when buying paint. Q. Will Palight Trimboard expand/contract? A. All PVC products expand and contract to some degree. If you follow our installation guidelines, you can limit the variance to just 1/8". Longer runs of uncut boards will expand and contract more than shorter runs.
