Back then there was a major lack of professionalism in Belgium and while esports was growing with enormous proportions in other countries (with Russia and China declaring online gaming as a real sport), Belgium was left behind with tons of potential but no one to create that precious spark. The first 4DFX team had a somewhat difficult start but still, the squad got the required results rather soon and Softtrading sponsoring was a fact- Unluckely they couldn t stick together and the team folded. 1 year ago I (Steven - CEO ) had the chance of re-creating 4DFX. Bringing back the core members of the first time and adding some of Belgiums most promising players. With our excellent team spirit at offline-events (LAN s) we managed to regain the community s respect.

With a total of over 300 people users on our IRC channel and with a constant of around 150 we have one of the biggest Belgian esports chat rooms. Also our old website (www.team4dfx.net) had +-500 unique visitors a day and we had 750 registred members. We also get a lot of publicity because 2 of our players and me (as team captain) are currently defending our nations honour as we strafe to nice results with the Belgian National CS team. E-Sports itself has grown a lot thanks to the popularity of such online shooter games such as Counter-Strike and with over one hundred thousand players playing at this very minute and millions of Counter-Strike gamers worldwide this game is the true ambassador of esports.
